Best Car for my money

I own a 2009 Honda Civic LX-S. I love this car. I get 30 mpg on average. When we use the AC we still get 25 mpg. We have two kids in car seats and one in a seatbelt and they all fit comfortable. The trunk is a lot bigger then it appears to be. We have a side-by-side stroller that fits in the truck. We just went on vacation and we were able to fit the stroller and a large suitcase in the trunk and still had some room to spare.

Quiet nicer than I thought

Owned a 330 ci BMW and switched to Honda. Wasn't too excited at first but man, the geek mobil civic 09 has been impressing since 09 now... Changed oil twice n no mechanical or any kind of problems. Super reliable. I m not as impressed about gas per gallon performance but it's alright. Average 30 mpg. If you commute or just want to have a cheap to maintain car you might want to consider Honda civic.

Most Reliable Car I've Owned

I recently purchased a Honda Civic LX-S and can't be happier with my car. The seats are so comfortable and the ride is very smooth. Although the handeling is not as sensitive as a previous sedan I owned, I got used to it. Ok, so there is some road noise, but it doesn't bother me with my music on. The styling of the exterior is so compact compared to the abundunce of space inside. I love how the LX-S has upgraded black interior and the leather wrapped steering wheel. It gives it a luxurious feel and look. Although the digital spedometer took some getting used to, I think it is very cool and prevents you from taking your eyes of the road. One drawback I found is that Honda recommends 87 gasoline(midgrade), but with the fuel economy of the Civic it will definitely get better gas MPH than my previous vehicle(truck). All I can say it that I love my new car. If you want reliability, fuel savings, and plenty of space, than test drive a Civic and you will see.

Well Engineered But Not Perfect

The test drive sold me on this car. There is a feeling of quality to how the car goes down the road and how the controls feel to the driver. The structure of the car feels very solid and tight. Crash ratings for this car are all 4-5 stars. I'd read many times about how noisy the ride was on these cars but to me it does not seem bad at all. The digital speedometer works very well and is perfectly located on the dash. The clutch engagement is very easy and smooth. The engine is smooth and makes good power but feels too flat at low rpm. My Hyundai Elantra had better low-end torque from it's 2.0 and I averaged the same MPG as with the Civic. For about $600 more than the LX, you can get an LX-S with alloy wheels, leather wrapped wheel and all black interior(which looks better to me) There are several things that do bother me about the car. The steering wheel is leather wrapped, but the tactile pleasure of the leather is ruined by the hard, silver plastic on the spokes digging into the meaty part of my hands beneath the thumb. It is an irritating example of form-over-function design. The shifter is located too far forward on the console. I move my seat up to compensate and end up splaying my legs out more than I'd like which causes my knee to rest on the very hard hand brake handle. Who thought this was a good location for the hand brake? Who?! The steering has a quick ratio which implies sportiness but the suspension has too much roll softness to feel sporty. It feels like the suspension and steering belong on two different cars. The seats are too firm and could use more support. They feel cheap - as if to remind me that I don't earn quite enough money to afford an Accord. The CD player has weak sound and there is not even a USB port! On a car that stickers over 19K! Overall, I feel like I got what I paid for with this car. Whereas with my Hyundai, I felt like I'd gotten more car than I'd paid for. I'm hoping that Honda reliability will make up for the difference.

Honda Civic Si - 2009

Nice engine, shifter and clutch. Seat a little hard and no power option. Headrests too far forward. Really fun to drive! I get about 30 mpg, which is great for 197 horsepower engine. Rattles in headliner and windows rattle when open. Quality seems to be a little less strong than my 1999 Accord, which I bought new. I would recommend this car. Great value.

Is this even a Civic?

I have driven many different vehicles, a Dodge Ram, Jeep Liberty and an older Honda Civic. This car by far car out-shined them all! I have the Honda CIVIC EX-L line. I have owned it since October of 2009 and cannot think of any car that could replace this one, not even a beemer. I only gave it a 4 on comfort because Im not a fan of leather seats, I just like the clean look of them and they are easy to clean. Not to mention leather does not stain and certain features are only available with a leather trim. Other than that the ride is very smooth. I could not believe this was a Civic when I test drove it, so I just had to pre-order a 2009 model. The car is very zippy in traffic and doesn't lack in speed when needed. I love the VSA feature, which handles very nicely in the snow. You cannot beat the USB MP3 media interface, I plug my iphone in and am set to go. The phone is charged and the MP3 music is operated through dash radio. Not even a BMW has that feature. I range 28-30 MPG combined with city and highway, 30-36 MPG on highway. I keep my oil and filters changed and use the regular grade costo gas. I drive reasonably, but am known to have a lead foot and very pleased with MPG.
