Honda Honda Honda
I purchased my Honda for its reliability and price. and it certainly meets this criteria. I find the exterior styling clean and modern. There is no chrome trim and it gives the car a sleek look. The interior is sparce and the seats are uncomfortable and boxy. I feel awkward and uncomfortable. The instrument panel displays a lot of information and the radio disk player at 120Watts is good. The speedometer and fuel and temp gages are digital and difficult to see. I am average height male at 5'10" The ergonomics here is strange. I have an LX model with a standard power package so you may want to upgrade,

The Civic is a terrible car for the money!
Purchasing a brand new 2010 $19,000+ Civic got me a car with very little power, and no options on it whatsoever. This wasn't even a base model Civic. The base model doesn't even have automatic locks. I rushed into the decision, which was very, very foolish of me. It was by far the biggest mistake I've ever made. I'd expect better out of Honda. I'm sure the car would have been reliable for many years to come, but after 3 months, it had to go. I traded it in for a used fully decked-out Mazda3 with every option available, for $16,000. It was pretty much an even trade after some haggling with the salesman. I owned a Mazda3 before, base model though, which I actually traded in for the Civic. The only reason I got rid of it was so that I could have automatic locks and windows with a full warranty. But the Civic was not nearly what I expected it to be. My first Mazda3 ran beautifully and I never should have gotten rid of it. Anyway, I'm back in a Mazda3, and I'm so, soo much happier. You can't beat the price, reliability, comfort, and fun that a Mazda can actually bring. :)

NOT IMPRESSED
I am actually really disappointed I bought this car and feel really terrible having to make the $350 monthly payments. I went with the Honda Civic EX-L model. When I test drove the car I was really impressed but the 10 minute drive was not enough I guess. Riding in the car now I have notice the noise is terrible!!! I can't even have my cell phone on speaker and hear the person because of the road noise. Also the areodynamic dash in the front of the car makes horrible blind spots. I have to crane my neck around every time before pulling out of spots or making turns. I live in a neighborhood with lots of children running around and I almost hit one of them because I was not able to see them in the blind spot the little side windows cause. Also I have noticed the windows tend to fog up extremely easy and I always have to have my defroster on even during the summer nights sometimes. For the money I paid I am not as impressed with the basic exterior styling that I did not think I would miss when I traded my old car in. I noticed now that the car doesn't have the nice metal trim around the windows adding that extra "value look" to the car like the Honda Accords have. I have only put 10,000 miles on the car and I am already having problems with it. When I go to turn the car on in the mornings the engine just turns over but it doesn't start and I have to try again before it will start. For being a brand new car worth over $30,000 ITS NOT WORTH IT!

Most Intelligent Choice
Due to Civic's legendary reliability and resale value, I financed my 2010 EX-L for 72 months with total confidence. Just completed 2,200 mile trip to my sister's and back for Thanksgiving, bringing my 21 year old nephew and 16 pound terrier along for the ride. The car performed magnificently, and the comfort level far exceeded my expectations, even though I'm 6'1". The seats rival those of several Euro-luxury cars I've owned, including the all-important minimal fatigue factor. The five speed transmission is buttery smooth, and acceleration is more than adequate. We easily kept up with the big boys on I-95. Further, I don't understand the many complaints about excessive road noise. It just wasn't a factor for me. Back home and around town, it's a joy to drive, and after six weeks I still find myself making excuses to go out to the garage, because in Urban Titanium Metallic, it's such a handsome beast.

Second Civic I've owned
Prior to the purchase of the 2010 Honda Civic Sedan LX, I had a 1995 Civic EX which was super reliable so this new car has had a lot to live up to. I got a 4 door sedan up from a 2 door coupe EX, and while I knew I was getting more room on the interior I was pleasantly surprised at how roomy this new car felt. Whether it's the rake of the front windshield or the higher ceiling, the new Civic felt spacious. The dashboard seems to go deeper than most cars too. Checking out the backseat (where I never go), I liked the accessibility and the leg room too. I'm not a huge fan of using the trunk and I like using the backseat for groceries and love how roomy it is there. As far as the controls go, everything seems ergonomically friendly. Nothing seems out of place nor do I have to reach to find things. My only knock against the controls are the radio knobs have no definitive start & stop; I like knowing where the volume of my music is prior to starting up the car. I didn't mind the tachometer where my old speedometer was and have gotten used to seeing my speed elevated along the driving plane. The telescoping steering column was a nice step up from just the up/down adjustable steering columns of old too. Map lights were nice touches as was all of the little pockets to stash change & things. Seating wise I thought was a little stiff but my wife thinks they're plush. I found out a week later that the driver's seat height was also adjustable; I've never had need for it but can see how it can come in handy for shorter people. I do like the armrests in the front seat area and could only wish for one if I sat in the back (the EX model has it). Driving wise I've really liked it. It's not as noisy as my older Civic. It does seem to handle curves a little less generously than my old 95 though- but that could be from the perceived height, but maybe the suspension isn't as aggressive. It accelerated fine and I have no fear of merging onto the freeways. If I want to pass, I feel confident that it can kick it up a notch. Shifting through the gears seems smooth as well as decelerating. Brakes seem fine but nothing to write home about; I've driven faster more muscle bound cars with touchier brakes but don't feel as though this car needs it for what I use it for (inner city commuting). While not the most distinctive car on the road (there seems to be an abundance of them), it's served me well so far. I got a great end of the year financing and loved it. The car's got some pep and if it lives up to its predecessor (178K miles), I'll be more than happy with this car. It doesn't feel like a tin box and the slight upgrades from previous models makes me feel real good about this purchase. I'd recommend this car to friends and family who have similar needs for a quick, peppy, reliable car. It won't win beauty contests nor blow anyone away at the line, but does more than a commendable job of hauling me, my friends and our stuff around town in simple comfort.

Best Car For Your Money
I didn't initially go out to buy a Civic, but, after the test drive and, especially after owning one for the pastthree months, I'm definitely glad that I made the decision to buy the car! It has outstanding pick up for a 4 cylinder. The ride is smooth and the handling is unbelieveable! I would unconditionally recoomend this car to anyone that is in the market for a new vehicle.

What a great small car!
I have had my new Honda Civic Coupe LX for a few days now and I am very impressed. I have already put over 300 miles on it. It is very quiet and handles well for a smaller car. It has a 5-speed automatic and shifts very smooth. I like the instrumentation panels and color of the lighting. Looking forward to years of dependable service.

Not Impressed
I test drove this vehicle, expecting to be wowed by Honda quality, having done a lot of research on the new Civic. After my extensive research, the Civic made it to the final four round - where I would test drive my top four faves based on the preliminary research. I know the Honda name is strong because of it's reliability and it's high re-sale value. Somewhere along the line, Honda's reputation in both of those departments must have been seriously inflated, and now it's almost impossible to convince anyone that it may be less than stellar. Comfort: The seats were comfortable enough, but the armrest was awkward and even with the tilt/telescoping wheel, the positioning of the wheel was also awkward. Spacious enough. Performance: I heard a lot about road noise in my research. I see what everyone meant. It's quite loud. And that was just on city roads, going 30 or less. I also felt the ride was choppy, the acceleration/deceleration in the AT was strained and not nearly smooth enough for my tastes, and the engine got buzzy at times. I heard people talk of solid steering, but I didn't get that impression. It felt vague to me. Almost like the car and the steering wheel were not attached but that the car just sort of eventually shadowed what I did with the wheel. Exterior Styling: I like the new exterior styling. Best part about the car. Best style I've seen on any car out there! If the rest of the car and driving experience was anything like the styling, I would have bought it on the spot. Interior Design: The interior design is unique. On the one hand, I do like the ultra-modern look. On the other hand, the digital speedometer would take a bit getting used to and the tach is hard to see through the steering wheel. The tach is exceedingly too prominent for this car anyway, especially with an AT. Visibility is really poor! I almost got into a fender bender on the test drive. The blind spots in the rear, even when fully turning and arching my head to see, are awful. The side rear windows are a bit too small and the rear window is hard to see out of because of the high armrests and trunk. I kept adjusting my rv mirror to see better, but to no avail. Value: If you can overlook all the cons and can negotiate a good deal on this, then given the reliability, the safety, and the resale, it's a fair option. Otherwise, just because it's Honda, don't rush out to buy one. I also understand that if you do get into a fender bender, body repairs on this are expensive (IIHS).
