Got the Jitters

Cute and seemed peppy & quieter than my previous truck so liked it alot & excellent salesperson helped me...but then the trim on the door got pretty grungy and deteriated from the dirt and grime from the ranch...ok cargo area and interior, nothing special, radio ok, but front seat did not fold flat forward so very limited as a utility vehicle...The front seat is not than great...had to get a special seat from Relax the Back for support. Engine ok, though had a couple of minor probs, ignition had to be rebuilt, windshield washer motor died, and tranny often made clunking noises. The ride is my main complaint...very jittery but it did handle nicely. I felt the ride was like a lightweight minicar...not real safe feeling. I think I paid too much and think it was over rated. Airbags do function...this little black beauty went to auto heaven after being kissed by a chevy s10...I did not want it back as engine was affected. I REPLACED it with another SUV from another foreign country. The CRVs ride and seats as well as lack of details in the interior was quite obvious after riding in a co-worker's korean suv made me realize there were better vehicles out & with much better warranties. (I had not even considered one of these before I got Hondy because I thought they were cheap until I rode in one and my negative attitude changed quite fast) Test drive ALL the little SUVs, over different terrain...and examine the interior features & functions...there are more UTILITARIAN suvs out there...and mine gets way more MPG than rated on the epa sticker.

Great little SUV

This is the first SUV I have owned. I love Hondas, as I had a Prelude for 9 years, which had no problems. I love all the features on the CR-V, and I think it has an expensive look to it. I don't know why some of the reviews were so bad on this website. They're all great on other websites. I really love driving the CR-V, and I don't think it is underpowered at all. If you want a racecar, buy one. That's not what the CR-V is meant for. I have no problems on the highway and zipping around town with mine. I can't say enough good things about this car, and it's not ugly in the least bit. I highly recommend taking one for a test drive - you won't be sorry. :-)

Best Value Vehicle

I've had my CRV for 3 years, clocked over 70,000 miles and not once have had any issues. It's in just as good condition as when I first purchased it. While the gas mileage isn't great, the smooth ride and comfort of the car makes up for higher prices.

Problems w/ crv

I owned Hondas for many years and my favorite is the Accord. When buying the CRV vehicle we loved it, but after drivin it we noticed a few things we did not like..such as..the fabric door handles, windshield wipers do not have intermitten speeds and rear middle seat bealt is VERY hard to release.Gas Milage is awesome, but not much relaxing positions when driving this vehicle.

Perfect crossover

From reading some of the reviews in this site, I think I must be somwhere between a "city girl" and "little old Lady" but I think this car is just terrific. Of course, I didn't buy it to haul cattle or Friday night drag race. I've always owned subcompacts, and this has way more acceleration than they have, but uses about as much fuel. The comfort level for longer trips is just remarkable compared to my previous cars. I can fit things in when I have larger items, but length wise it's actually shorter than my previous sports coupe for city parallel parking. It also handles terrificly and actually turns more narrowly than my previous little cars, which was an expected happy surprise. I opted for most of the bells and whistles, since it was still a lot cheaper than bared boned comparable vehicles, including some other Honda models. Perhaps if my previous vehicles were 6 cylinder behemoths, this would seem sedate, but for average driver I think this vehcile is the perfect compromise.

Meets all expectations

My 2008 CRV has thus far met all my expectations. The 4-cylinder certainly has a lot more power than my previous 1986 Chevrolet S10 Blazer with a V6. I find it quiet at highway speeds, and I like the standard equipment. I have already gone 9,600 miles and still have 20% oil life left. It easily meets the reported 27 mpg. If you want a faster vehicle, go buy a corvette.

Best small SUV out there... period.

The Honda CRV is a very well put together, smartly designed vehicle. Positives: very roomy feel, nice looks both inside and out, great fit and finish, good price, excellent ride, safety, safety, safety. I disagee with many on here about power, it is not the strongest out there, but it shouldn't be. It is a small SUV. If you want power, expect poor gas mileage. Speaking of gas, I'm getting low 20's overall. 21 in the city and 27 on the high way. Drawbacks: A bit small on the storage space with five adults. Rear seats should be easier to fold. My friend owns a RAV4 and I've driven both new models repeatedly. The Honda is tops in just about every category except the rear seat design. The Honda drives much better - actually WAY better. Feels much more roomy, seats 5 comfortably as compared the toyota. And better price. Buy this car and enjoy

AWFUL SUV! DO NOT BUY!

I would never purchased this vehicle! The ride is terrible. EVERY bump you go over you feel, the seats are VERY uncomfortable and the CR-V has NO power.....the engine just "whines" I do not understand why there are so many on the road. I was hooked by the outside design and thought it would be my next SUV. We know a friend who works at Honda and I was able to drive this around for a day. I couldn't wait to get out of it! The inside looks cheap and that was a limited version, the backseats are very thin. I could never imagine having my child ride back there. Pulling out onto a highway was DANGEROUS since the CR-V only comes in a 4 cylinder. I felt I had no power to get out of the way of traffic. VERY SCARY! I am now in a new RAV4 V6 Limited and LOVE it. There is NO comparision! As far as I am concerned the Honda CR-V is JUNK!

Should have bought a Santa Fe instead

This vehicle is not all it sems. Being a honda i expected it to be nothing short of well.. a honda. but can you say disappointed? this is the worst handling weakest suv i have ever owned. i should have gone with a santa fe instead. at least that has some intrigue to it.
