"much bang for the buck"
Being an avid California skier and living in LA I make the trip to Mammoth Mountain (300 mi.) at least two weekends a month during the winter. The 4 awd is a must during snowy conditions, and this vehicle handles these conditions really well. With the price of gas these days gas mileage (mpg) is important to me and the CR-V doesn't disappoint (it gets 25 mpg going up to the mountain; and 29 mpg coming back to LA). I usually average between 70-75 mph on these trips. The CR-V really has a quiet ride and drives very easy, love the armrests. The vehicle seems to handle windy conditions (as the Mojave desert seems prone) quite well, feels stable in the winds. The roominess of the CR-V is impressive (the back seat room especially) for a lower priced compact SUV. While wine tasting with my wife and a couple of friends, it was very comfortable, and enough room for wine in the back. Over all I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Kiss Goodbye Your Boat
I love my 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L however if you are looking to tow something anytime in the life of your car, you might want to look into the RAV4. I didn't realize how weak the CRV towing capacity was until I was looking into buying a boat. Towing capicity is a hidden 1500lb total. RAV4 offers 2000lb with a 3500lb upgrade tow package and V6 options for roughly one less MPG. With no V6 option nor any tow package, the CR-V has dropped in my books.

The Crv is the way to go
After owning this car for six months, I couldn't be happier. Not only is the CRV sharp but it is great in the snow and is rated as one of the safest cars on the road. Driving in horrible conditions this winter the VSA kicks in when needed giving added security. An added plus is that many CRV's are still made in japan, so they should be more reliable long term. Power is adequate and gas milage is ok for an SUV. As Toyota quaility slip my hope is that Honda will remain reliable.

its ugly and the interior is horrible
I just bought a 2008 CRV with the leather and all the nice aminities i didnt need. What a bad buy! i bought this car thinking it was going to be reliable which it is but the interior surfaces are hard and annoying. One big reason i bought the car is for 1 reliability 2 interior quality 3 MPG the interior quality isnt good, the plastics are very hard and the gauges arent easy to read at my seating adjustment. I thought the MPG was going to be good (i get 24-26 highway) I mostly do highway driving anyway. With a tiny tank im always refilling it. only 14 or 15 gallons? The I4 provides okay acceleration but not good passing power. I'm extremely upset that i thought the good MPG let me over look the exterior design. I've gotten very "fake comments" on the way it looks "good" Should have got the Escape with the V6.

Great Ergonomics, good handling.
I recently bought a black 2008 EX model with cloth interior, moon roof etc, after test driving and researching a lot of other vehicles in this as well as luxury segment. It looks pretty smart, suits both men and women drivers, and I got a few complements. The interior has good quality. The ergonomics is excellent in any Honda car and reliability is unbeatable even when compared to many luxury segments. Very comfortable to drive. The power is good enough and I dont feel the need to have more than that in most driving conditions. Anyways it will take me from point A to B anywhere in almost the same time as any other more powerful ones (without getting a ticket!) The car comes with a MP3 jack and can play 6 CDs and the music quality is good enough, with steering controls for volume and selection, and intutive controls on the dash board. It has good enough cargo space. The handling is as good as a car with the space and feel of a SUV. The length is as much as a mid size car, good rear view, no blind spots problem. Reversing and parking is easier,as compared to some cars which are either too large, or has a bad rear view/blind spots. It is not too bumby as some sporty models are and the drive is pretty smooth. Braking is good. Safety ratings are high. Aerodynamics is good and the vehicle does not wobble in windy driving conditions. Was thinking of the honda navigation system, but for that I had to buy leather seat trim level(which I dont like as it gets too hot or cold) and all together that comes to some 5000 bucks more, so one can save that if they are not great leather enthusiasts. A portable nav system can be bought for as less as 200 bucks, if someone needs to use it for that "once in a while" trip to some new place. The cloth quality is good in EX as comapred to LX trim. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a very comfortable and smart runabout vehicles with reliability and practicality in mind.

Changes you can expect if you own a pre-07 model
I am glad to see Honda added the MP3 jack and the remote entry. I already owned a 2003 CRV so it was a no brainer to know I would buy another one. I never had a problem with my old one and got about 30 mpg. The power on the 08 seems better and it seems larger in the cockpit, you did lose some cargo space in the back on the new design. You also lost all but one cubby hole for storage and the 3rd cup holder which I miss. The gear shift was moved to a more "normal location" than the old one. It would be nice if they made the outside temp guage a standard feature. Overall, if you liked your older model you will love the new one.

The first suv I have owned.
The only thing I dont like about the vehicle is the placement of the button that opens the fuel door. It way too low, Its to bad that they couldnt have put the button on the dash or just under the dash board. Otherwise no problems.

Happy with 08 crv
Me and my wife just recently bought our need 2008 CR-V EX, we love it, it's very nice, great mpg and it rides so smooth, steering is great and all the setup inside is nice, the dash and all, has plenty of room for anything we could need it for and as for it being a 4 cylinder engine, it's powerful enough to get the job done. also the exterior looks great, rounded off alot more than older models and all together nice looking, I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Regret buying this
This car cant pull itself off the acceleration ramp. I understand wanting good fuel economy but, i would rather want to beable to not get run over. Though the fuel economy isnt that good anyway. I average 19 around town and 25 highway. With this car you lose some and, you lose some. The ride is smooth and the space is good for a compact cuv or minivan. The interior fit and finish is not that great. Its actually pretty bad for Honda. Big mistake with the purchase of this car.
