Rear view blind spot problem with CR-V

I bought my 2009 CR-V EXL in Feb. '09. I was concerned about the poor rear visability on my test drive, but was assured by the saleswoman that I "will get used to it." It is now July 4. I'm STILL NOT USED TO IT. The wide rear frame and window design make it impossible to see in a very large blind spot. I bac ked into a sign pole and came close to backing into a lady and her baby. I contacted the dealer who was absolutely rude and nasty, then Honda America. The first person that I spoke to there stated that he had the same problem with his '07 and that attaching mirrors like those used on trailers helped a little (how attractive). All of the rest of the people that I spoke to there denied that there is a design flaw with the vehicle. I have read other complaints about this problem on line. I would appreciate Honda America admitting the safety problem and offering a correction for it. My requests for this have been ignored by Honda America and my dealer.

Love this car

I bought my CRV LX in November of 2008. I absolutely love this car. I traded my Acura with 60000 miles in on it and have not had a minutes trouble with it.The gas mileage is better than expected, about 28mpg around town with some highway driving.Plenty of room for 4 people in comfort. The xm radio is very good and I like the information center that gives you all the information that you need. I can't imagine not buying another CRV when this one gets 3-4 years old.

I absolutely love this car

I absolutely love my CR-V. I have all the extras and it has been worth every penny. Honda's service has always been exceptional. I have always driven Accords until my purchase of the CR-V, and I love it. I have a bad back and it is easy to get in and out of. The only thing I would love to see added is a hands free cell phone capability.

Not Happy with the car

I bought a new CRV ex. It has less than 300 miles. I was almost in accident because the brake is not working. When I am pressing the brake the car is still moving and I have to press hard to stop the car. The car is less than on month old and less than 300 miles. I am so sad. I have an altime 11 years old and the old altima's break system is better than my new less than one month CRV. so sad. I called honda North America and files a complain and I will go to deal over the weekend. But I afraid of driving the car.

I expected more from Honda

I like my CR-V but theres betters out there. What the car lacks mostly is power. Its fine for around town but passing takes to long and 0-60 times for me have been in the 11 second range.MPG is good at 20 overall and 18 city and about 25-26 highway. I hear so many good things about the transmission and i was dissapointed with it, itll refuse to shift and it'll give you "additude." i havent had any problems but the combination of a stubborn transmission and a weak engine assure me that problems lerk around the corner. cargo is good but the wheel wells can be tricky when loading things. the shelf is weak and usless only 20 lbs? over all i think im going to keep my CR-V but since its supposed to have outstanding resale im thinking forester or something with a better engine transmission combination

Love my CR-V!

In looking for a car to replace my Acura RSX, I looked at the Nissan Rogue and Honda CR-V. Pros and cons to both, but ultimately I picked the CR-V. What I love about the CR-V: --Heated seats --Nav system and backup camera (hadn't planned to buy this package but glad I did. Rear visibility isn't great but the backup camera makes the problem moot. Nav integration with sound system is cool.) --Cockpit comfort and layout --Fun to drive --Easy-to-read trip computer showing average MPG, range, trip computer, etc. (The Rogue's trip computer was AWFUL. To this day I didn't understand the info it was showing me) --Radio controls in the steering wheel --Built-in XM radio What the CR-V sorely lacks: --Built-in Bluetooth and garage door opener (like the Rogue) --Ipod integration (AUX input is no substitute) --Better gas mileage (I'm getting 17-18 in the city)
