Excellent, but far from perfect

We bought our 2011 CR-V on Black Friday, 2010. We chose the LX trim line to save money. It has a couple of annoying short-comings: a single-speed intermittent wiper (not variable) and a mostly useless console between the front seats. You can only set a few small items on it, and it doesn't open up to put anything in it. Mileage for 1 year is 24.4MPG (actual). The engine is very peppy for a vehicle this size. The cargo space is good, but not flat in front when the back seat is folded down. Folding and unfolding the rear seats is a back strain opportunity, since you have to lean over while pulling the release straps and lifting the seat. The rear hatch opening is much narrower than the interior of the cargo area, which means that something that COULD fit inside the cargo area won't fit through the opening to get it in there. The sound system sounds very inexpensive, with no "surround" or depth at all. On those rare occasions that I reach for the horn, I wind up pressing on places on the steering wheel that do nothing. Visibility out the rear is poor with the rear seat head restraints in a normal position. Mechanically excellent so far (only a burnt-out tail light, covered under warranty). The keyless remote is only active from about 30 feet. Major complaint in the Summer is the temp settings for the A/C. When the temp wheel is at its coldest setting, it is uncomfortably cool in the front seats. 1 click to the warmer direction is not cool enough. There is a huge temp difference between those two clicks. So it is impossible to find a perfect setting for us. Everything else is as expected from Honda - functional, reliable. I like the car, but can't say I love it.

Flawless Car Shopping

The most convenient way to get informed and also decide on your future ride! Easy to navigate site got me right to the what I was looking for... The dealership I used was very professional and refreshingly honest as well as genuine in their practices. This is my new way of looking and finding a new car! Thank you!

Good honda

Terrific product except for a few small issues in the front seat area. We also own a 2011 Civic. On the following points the Civic is much better. 1- The space between the two front seats does not serve well. The cup holder framework has no place to hold other things such as a tissue box or other such things. If folded down the space is to small. and too hard to reach. Civic arrangement much better. Easy to reach and a covered compartment. 2. The gauges are simpler, easier to work with and read on the Civic. Mileage A and B gauges. 3. The knobs and punch bottons on the radio are too small to get a hold on and use. Knobs on the heater and the knobs on both parts of the Civic are terrific. Big and easy to manage. New style on the CRV are ridiculously small.

CR-V is a lot for the money

I was pleased with all the features on my CR-V. Everything is automatic, we have plenty of room, including my 6'2 husband. It is smooth and stylish. The gas mileage is better than projected. The only complaint I have is the road noise.

Good utility vehicle

The 2011 Honda CR-V is a good no-frills vehicle. I would suggest more storage compartments in the interior. Also it is not as economical to operate as some other models. It offers a "firmer" ride than the luxury models.

CRV lives up to hype

Owned cars for over 40 years. Love this car. never had a non Detroit vehicle before, but this made in OHIO Honda CRV is everything I could hope for. Lots of cargo space, great on gas, moves out when I need to pass a pokey sedan or farm machinery, takes to the open road like it's flying, stylish look, sits higher than a sedan, but not too high to get in and out of easily, when I need passenger space it has that too, and plenty of air bags etc. to keep my grandkids or other valued treasures safe and secure.

Solid Make, Solid Vehicle

Having driven the CRV numerous times, I have found that Honda has not held back one ounce in the quality and purity of the vehicle. The handling of the vehicle allows the driver to feel a vast amount of confidence and composure. It is sure footed and handles amazingly in our northern snow climates. Lots of additional features all the way to Navigation with rearview camera. Last, the outward viewing is 100% The large windows and smaller pillars allow great view from in cab. Bonus with loaded safety features from the base model. Kudos Honda, Kudos

Great on Long Trips

Bought the CRV EXL because I needed a lumbar support and thought the heated seats would help my arthritis in my hips on long trips. Guess what? I was right. The vehicle handles like a dream. Cornering is amazing - you don't get that uncomfortable feeling you get with other SUVs when you go into a turn on a highway ramp and halfway through it you have to adjust because the ramp just got tighter. Tested RAV4, Forester and Santa Fe also. This car's riding and handling are superior. A bit noisy on the road, but the comfort level of the seats, especially the driver's seat, is excellent. Plenty of leg room too (I'm 6-2 1/2). Visibility was thought to be a problem out the right rear quarter but if you turn the rear view mirror to the right so that you can see part of the rear door window the visibility issue goes away. Great car -- got around 27mpg over Thanksgiving driving between MA and MD. No regrets trading in my 2006 Accord SE with only 48000 miles on it (miss the 31+mpg though, but everything has a price, and the 4mpg on the highway is worth the price for the additional comfort). Have a 2003 CRV EX too for my wife -- she loves it, but it doesn't have all the features the 2011 EXL has. We will wait for the 2012 and maybe the mid-life enhancement of it in 2013-2014 to upgrade our 2003 ride, but it will definitely be a CRV.

Sweet Ride

This is a great little vehicle. It rides well, handles great, and gets good gas mileage. The only things I don't like is that the moon roof cover tends to accumulate leaves and pine straw and the wheels are hard to wash because of the closeness of the spokes.

2011 Honda CRV Glacier Blue

I never wanted an SUV. But unfortunately, my wife needed 4wd for her work. In the past 30 years, I have previously only owned Toyota vehicles (cars, trucks and vans). 4 years ago I switched to Honda (2007 Accord EX and 2008 Civic coupe). I had to trade my wonderful 2007 Accord for this 2011 CRV EX. I tested drove the CRV for 30 plus miles in the 'pineapple express' downpour, through traffic, road construction zone, freeway on ramp, up hills, and down hills. After 40 minutes of driving I decided that the CRV was worth the trade. I do miss the Accord's roominess and it's quick response. The CRV lagged for the first second in acceleration and then it would perform like the Accord (same engine I was told but geared differently). I was impressed with the CRV's braking ability, the turning and swerving (the sales person probably lost a couple years of his life from his ride with me). There was one braking instance where I stomped on the brakes and the car stopped without fishtailing or nose diving. Next week, I hope to take it to the snow to get acquainted with the CRV. Will see how we do with the CRV for mileage. I will miss the Accord's 30+mpg on the freeway. I could not trade in the Civic coupe since it gets over 40+mpg on the freeway. The Civic is a keeper and now it will be my driver. I need to add sound proofing to it (much noisier than the Accord) to be a good driver. The CRV interior is very well thought out. The panel gaps are consistent throughout. Like the moonroof (it was the only thing I wanted!) Based on some reviewers' comments on the tires I wanted to trade the Continental tires for Michelins but the sales manager gave 'cannot' change out due to manufacturer policies.
