Love my Fit!
Bought my Fit in July, 2009, and love it so far. Love the gas mileage! Everyone makes fun because I drive a "go cart" but I love it! Hit a curb real hard in Dec. (in the snow) and I had to go 2 and 1/2 weeks without my Fit and was very glad to get it back! My previous cars were Taurus, Maxima, and Passat so the interior of the Fit is kind of shoddy compared to those cars, but hey, you get what you pay for. I drive around a lot with my job and I hate repeating myself, but the mileage is great! I drive half city, half hwy, and I avg 36 mpg. A 5 hour hwy trip got me 44 mpg! The Fit serves the purpose of me buying it, great mileage!

Excellent Value; A Lot of Fun
Model: Automatic Sport. MPG: In the city I'm getting 28 to 30; highway 35 to 39. Pros: Small size, yet the interior is quite large. With the rear seats down I can fit by bike in the car, upright, without having to take front wheel off or even lower the seat. USB port/iPod control. This is a minor feature, but once you have it, you cannot live without it. This lets you do three things: play music on your iPod over the car stereo; control the iPod using the car stereo; and charge the iPod while it is connected (and playing). For iPhone users, the port charges your phone about twice as fast as the cigarette lighter. There's a dashboard light for everything. There's a sensor for just about everything that could go wrong with the car, including low tire pressure. You don't have to worry about making sure that the oil is changed after a certain number of miles or having to take the car in for an annual checkup -- the computer will tell you when these things need to be done. While I typically use the car for a 3 mile (one-way) commute to work and shopping, I have taken it on long trips where I've driven up to 5hrs. I've found it to be quite comfortable (I'm 5'10" 155lbs). Cons: The interior scratches and gets marked up very easily. I'm worried that this is going to hurt the resale value. The headlights remain on when the key is out of the ignition and the warning sound is not loud enough. Some cars do kill the headlights when the key is removed from the ignition -- this should be a standard feature of all cars. How many times have you actually needed to keep the headlights on when the engine was off? There are no stereo controls on the steering wheel in the Sport and Base models. I see this as a safety issue. People have a natural tendency to channel surf and skip around on a CD/iPod. Having more controls on the wheel helps keep people's hands on the wheel at all time, and is much more practical than paddle shifters. The iPod navigation controls could be better. I've had my Fit for 4 months now and I've put 3,500 miles on it. Overall, I find that it's a lot of fun. Very easy to drive, easy to maneuver in cities, good handling, lots of storage despite small size, and clever features like the USB port. And for a hatchback style car, Honda has done a pretty good job making it look slick.

Saved my life
I bought my Fit in July 2009. I traded the much heralded 2000 Subaru Outback that had piston slap, head gasket leak and transmision problems at 79,000. The FIT is super fun to drive, I never feel underpowered, keep up with other traffic easily. I play in a Rock Band and I can carry: bass amp, guitar amp, 2 guitars, 2 lighting trees and still have room left over. On Nov. 28 at 2 AM riding home from a gig 75 miles away from home, I hit a large deer. It crumpled the hood like it should, but I was able to drive 50 miles home. No injuries, no drive train problems, even the alignment stayed true. The safety and build quality is amazing..Thanks Honda!

everything is great but it lacks horsepower i like it is also good on gas i get alittle under 300miles between fill ups and alittle under $30.00 per tank. if i had a better job and more money my dream car would be the 2010 camaro ss .315 horsepower v8 and looks to kill

I LOVE my Momma Fit
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this car! It's adorable to look at, inside and out, i just LOVE it. The front windows are kinda freaky at first, but it just adds to the fun. Its the perfect car for me. I drive far to and from work, so the gas mialage is amazing. I also have a 10 month old 85lb golden retriever and he rides great in this car. i was told it's a "mom's car, but like a hot mom." that's how it was named momma fit. the ONLY thing i've found frustrating thus far is i ran over a piece of metal and a single tire took over a week to get anywhere AND it was $130. just avoid running over stuff and you'll be VERY happy with your fit!

We'll drive it into it's grave
I LOVE THIS CAR!!! VERY uncomfortable backseat. If you have young children needing car seats, DON"T buy this vehicle! I have 2 great dane mutts, not children, work in the trades, and bike, kayak, hike, canoe, haul building materials, and use my car hard. ! I also live in VERY snowy, slushy northern Vermont. My husband is a mechanic and WE love this car. CONS: It has Poor antenna design, has a hard time traveling up steep hills W/O speed or a low gear; Also the Sport Fit has an expensive wheel size and snow builds in the wheel hub with 3 or more inches of fresh snow.

Excellent Value
I purchased the 2009 Fit Sport, automatic, new in 10/08 and have 17k trouble free miles. Build quality, body structural rigidity and interior quality are superior. I am a lifelong auto enthusiast with 45 years of driving experience and have owned or driven many cars including Volkswagen Rabbit GTI, Porsche 356 and 911, Subaru WRX, Pontiac GTP, Corvette, Sunbeam Alpine, Saab, Toyota Prius, Alfa Romeo Spider. The Fit is extremely well designed and thoughtfully executed. I attest to its well deserved accolades in the automotive press about the many features that make this a good value. Favorites: Generous interior room and flexible cargo space compared to exterior dimensions Tight turning radius Responsive handling and well controlled suspension Incredibly smooth automatic transmission USB connection to play songs directly from a thumb drive Excellent standard sound system Good all round visibility Excellent gas mileage Nitpicks: Lack of center armrest/console although driver seat has short captain chair type pivoting arm rest Bottom seat cushion could benefit from a depth/rake adjustment to offer support behind the knees No option for all doors to unlock on shift to park. Only driver?s door auto unlocks. Rear brakes are drum rather than disc. Don?t know if this would improve stopping distance. Considerable road noise in cabin at highway speeds Acceleration onto highway and passing is okay but heavier than expected gas pedal is needed Slow to recover highway speeds after brief decelerations unless you accelerate hard Miscellaneous: I would love to see this car turbo charged. Honda is submitting the Fit 1.5 liter engine to the SCAA for possible use in Formula Ford racing. Many complain the trip computer mileage is inflated. They fail to recognize this is an in-the-moment instant average. It is 3 mpg higher than the actual average unless the instant average is constant over an entire tank of fuel. Mileage on highway commutes is 38 mpg at just below 70 mph. More speed drops it to 33-35, but even at 90 mph it remains 31-33. At 60 mph I teased out 41 mpg. Mileage is also sensitive to weather and temp. Mileage improves in heavy traffic at high speeds, likely due to other cars breaking wind resistance and offering a drafting effect.

If the Fit Fits'
Went from a Jeep to the Fit. I was looking for MPG, space and handling. The Honda has been great on all three. The Fit is fun to drive, handles and get very good mileage. Last weekend I loaded up my Son, Wife , Me and his belongings and drove 180 miles to take him to college. The Fit was comfortable, had the space and did it all at around 38 MPG, average driving at 70 to 75 mph. What can I say, its a great car. I have a sport with the 5 speed auto. I am very happy with the vehicle. After the JEEP I wanted the most reliable and efficient vehicle I could find.

Decent Compromise
I really wanted a truck, that was cheap (less than $20k), held 4 people (quad cab) and got over 30mpg on the highway. Seeing as how that vehicle is a fantasy, I settled on this. Haven't regretted it for a moment. +: It can carry ANYTHING. Tons of space. Comfortable interior, nice lights, good stereo, great mileage (this depends heavily on how you drive it), nice turning.... uhm, nice little amenities like the rear wiper coming on when you have the front ones on and you put it in reverse. -: Underpowered. No. Seriously. It's weak. It needs a 6th gear (I have the 5 Manual) BADLY, at 80mph it's revving 4,000+ rpm. No arm rest / console. I had to buy one from Honda and install myself. Weak interior lights. Annoying tendency to lock doors at bad times, which I can't turn off. Rear drums? xxx. What year is this? Where's the 8track to go along with that? And how much $ could Honda have possibly saved ditching the disks? Minor; but very awkward engine oil fill.
