In my opinion the Honda Ridgeline is head and shoulders above all the other trucks in its class. The ride is very smooth. Great on fuel and low on cost to maintain. The Ridgeline was truck of the year in 2006 and could have the title every year. The cost of the Ridgeline has remained nearly the same since introduced in 2006. We really enjoy the Ridgeline. It can handle a trailer very well.

Great vehicle for all needs
I bought my 2006 Ridgeline new and have only done regular matinance and changed the brakes once and two tires in 67,000 miles. The gas mileage could be better, I average about 17 MPG. It is very comfortable to ride in and drive. No complaints.

Best All-Around Vehicle I have owned
I have owned many traditional pickups in the past 30 years from Chevy's to Fords. Got tired of driving my F-250 Crew Cab and 13 mpg. Looked at trading down to a mid sized all around vehicle. After reading reviews and test driving I had narrowed my decision down to a Toyota Tacoma. Great pickup, good reliablity, friends have them and liked them. Then I decided at the last minute to test drive a Ridgeline - and I am so glad I did. What a great vehicle. I like the unconventional appearance of the uni-body construction. Always wanted a Honda, I drive European imports and left the truck selection to the standard full sized Fords/Chevy's. This pickup has it all, rides like a very nice touring car. Hauls what ever I need to maintain my home, yard and 10 acre 'mini-ranch'. The hidden trunk is a fantastic idea, lockable, holds a lot. I have the RTL with all the options. I thought I would be driving this only on weekends, but now my four door european import sits in the garage and I love driving my Ridgeline. Honda hit a home run with this vehicle. If you arent hauling a heavy trailer or working where you need the towing/hauling capacity of the big rigs, go with a Honda Ridgeline..........you will get everything you need + the added bonus of a great ride. My friends laughed when they first saw my new pickup until they got in and drove it, they arent laughing anymore and wish they owned one instead. The only reason I didnt give performance a 5 star rating is I wish it got a little better mileage. But with the all the comforts, handling, seating comfort and plush interior - I will live with the lower mpg than I was hoping for.

Distinctive Truck...Most Useful One I've Owned
The Ridgeline is certainly a different kind of truck with its unibody/rail construction, underbed storage compartment, silhouette (that is cool when viewed in certain directions and clunky in others), and four-wheel independent suspension. It?s not what I call a full-blown heavy duty truck, but most trucks out there today aren?t very heavy duty either. Darn few trucks these days get used as trucks...no mud on their tires, but my Ridgeline always is sporting some. Yes, the bed?s short....no doubt about it, but unlike my previous three Ford Rangers (?real? midsize trucks that I drove for 24 years) I can drop the tailgate, load a sizable stack of 4?x 8? plywood sheets, tie `em down and have the pile sit flat on the bed. Also, driving them home I do not feel like I am driving over railroad ties when I navigate secondary roads...it?s one solid, smooth ride. Won?t argue that the gas mileage could be better for short, local trips considering that it has a 3.5 L six, but I do appreciate that when I need to accelerate it has all the guts I need (unlike my last Ranger with a 3.0 L Flexfuel six...that truck which I absolutely enjoyed and drove it every day for ten years couldn?t get off a dime if you gave it a nickel and four pennies ahead of time). What else I really appreciate about the truck is that I can load it with lumber, brush, other junk, offload it, and then load up other items such as coolers, my musical equipment, etc. into the underbed storage compartment, lock it up, and have the entire bed ready to haul bicycles and other stuff. I don't need a lockable cap or solid, locking tonneau cover with that lockable underbed compartment. That bed?s versatile. I also may take five tall passengers with me and carry a lot of things outside of the passenger compartment, too. The only thing I wish Honda would have changed in the design is to have separate heavy duty bumpers front and back that were bolted on to the body and not integrated into the body, minivan/SUV style and covered in plastic, as they are. Bumpers take a beating on trucks that are used as trucks, and it requires a little more care and driving finesse to not mangle those bumper covers. Other than that I really feel that Honda came up with a very interesting truck...it?s not for everybody, but it really suits me well. Looking for a new truck that's versatile...give Ridgelines a look while they are still available.

Best truck ever
Found the Ridgeline on cars.com. I've owned many trucks and this one is the best designed of all of them. It seats 5, has all the 'extras' of comfort, plus 4-wheel drive. Plus, the gas mileage is great. Best truck I've owned.

Perfect Vehicle for Country Living
This vehicle is reliable, sturdy, convenient. Comfortable inside with rear seats that flip up for interior hauling; Under bed storage bin that holds a load of groceries; the bed will hold a cubic yard of mulch (or whatever), and easy for a woman to move things in or out of the bed; convenient tie-down hooks in bed improve safety for cargo. Sturdy, 4 wheel drive performs well in mud or slush on unpaved country roads and off-road terrain. And it's a Honda! with the reliability I expect from Honda!

so far so good
Comfortable, great handling, since it warmed up gets 20mpg. I haven't pulled anything with it yet but it seems like it has plenty of power. It handled awesome in the snow and ice better than my F150 4x4.

Satisfied 2006 Ridgeline Owner
I went from a great Toyota Tundra w/ no options (and no back seats) to this 2006 Honda Ridgeline so I could help transport the kids. For my needs this truck is perfect. The interior is FULL SIZE, unlike most pickups. Yes the trade off is a 5' bed, but I could easily add the bed extender if that becomes a problem. The interior has most of the features of a mini-van + you can raise the rear seats for even more storage. The trunk beneath the bed is incredibly useful and large. I added a backup camera, Garmin GPS (hardwired) and in-bed bike rack. Did I mention I bought this w/ 95,000 miles on it and have only had to replace the A/C dash module. It rides much smoother than any other pickup. I did have a strange AWD issue where my front two tires were spinning, but no rear wheel traction, even in low gear 4WD engaged. Turns out you from a dead stop you need to press the brake + gas together to engage the AWD. Who knew. There are two rattles I'd like to get fixed, but at 120,000 it's to be expected.

Best Truck
I was looking at the Honda Ridgeline, Ford Explorer Sport Trac, and Nissan Titan. I am extremely please with my decision to purchase a Honda Ridgeline. It looks great and drives so smoothly. It has all kids of cool things, like the in bed trunk and heated seats. I love my Honda Ridgeline and would definitley consider buying another one in the future.

Best truck I ever had
Four-wheel independent suspension and anti-lock disc brakes ensure sports-car manners unlike any traditional pickup?s. The Ridgeline marries this handling precision to a full-time ?VTM-4? all-wheel-drive powertrain with locking rear differential and computerized ?VSM? stability control. In foothills northeast of Southern California?s Torrey Pines National Forest , the Ridgeline scaled 23-degree ridgeline slopes, crossed calf-deep streams and negotiated obstructive rocks and berms. For all of the infelicities of the trail, however, nary a squeak nor groan emanated from the Ridgeline?s innovative unibody cockpit.
