I have 170,000 miles on my 2008 H3.

I have 170,000 miles on my 2008 H3. I get about 19 to 20 MPG and it does not burn one drop of oil. The 5-cylinder engine runs great and the car performs like new. Off road, it is a beast and nothing will stop her. My wife keeps telling me to sell it and buy a newer car but I just love the way it drives and handles. I will keep this car until I am too old to be able to get into it. It has truly been a wonderful vehicle.

Some parts hard to find.

Some parts hard to find. Typical for vehicles over 10 yrs old if you insist on overpriced dealer parts. The H3 engine is the older 5 cyl Chevrolet Colorado engine & plenty of parts around for those. Some suspension & steering parts from Colorado will fit & work. Aftermarket parts quality vary from better than OEM to poor quality like all vehicles. Hummers are gas hogs including the H3. Likely you will get about 12mpg combined. The H2 is even worse. Getting through snow is a breeze but don’t try to put a snow plow on one of these. It will likely blow the undersized engine. Think of it as a plush but tough looking four banger underpowered Jeep Wrangler YJ but with an automatic, air, etc… It looks the part but is actually rather fragile. If you want tough get an H2 if you can afford the gas & can handle the size. Otherwise it may be time for a Jeep! The H3 is stylish and maneuverable. But GM cheaper out in some ways making it more of a passenger car than a truck. Maybe you want a Tahoe? They are built better. The H3 is semi collectible sort of. Few people have them. Not that many left around these days.

Parts not available anymore...

It is impossible to find parts for this vehicle. Mine had a lot of play in the steering & has now been sitting for 6 months because no one will service it, parts for the steering are no longer available as genuine parts. After market parts have been junk. Was loving it until this happened.

Don't know. NYS DMV is impossible.

Based on my previous H3 experience-12 years with my 2006 H3, this is everything I want/need. When the NYS DMV gets my registration done, and I can actually drive it, I'll know more.

Always wanted a Hummer. I purchased one on 18 Nov

Have not had any problems that cant be fixed. It drives and runs great. Always wanted a Hummer and since it is not new I do not think of it as anything other than a used vehicle. I am completely satisfied and hope to enjoy for quiet awhile

Most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned!

Mechanically reliable, very safe, built solid, it will literally drive through anything without getting stuck! I own the H3 alpha with the 5.3L v8. This is a strong engine. I could not recommend the 5L motor.
