Great car, worked really well the entire time I had it.

Great car, worked really well the entire time I had it. Drove it probably 20,000 miles in 2 or so years. Doesn't have all the super new features, but for how old it is it's pretty solid

2005 Loved this car it’s been to cal.

2005 Loved this car it’s been to cal. And back bought it in Appleton wi.Ran beautifully I did all required maintenance but the rear suspension frame has horribly rusted out so I am in danger of wheels falling off! 134k miles little rust on body and a wonderful hatchback . I am going to take a chance and buy a used newer same car or not at all.( I bought this car used 700?? Miles 2005)

Like it!

I think overall this vehicle is a great product for the price. I was searching for great mileage as a runner back and forth to work. Manual transmission was the type I was looking for, and this car has it!

One of the most reliable cars I’ve owned

This car has taken me through xxxx and back and survived 3 girlfriends ha ha.. overall the paint job isn’t exactly up to where I’d like it to be but, it still hasn’t given up on me to this day.

I loved that car

This car was my first new car. I wasn’t even supposed to buy a car that day. I drove everywhere and the car was always reliable. I never had a breakdown, was never left stranded, she always started. If they remade this car I would buy it all over again. I love the Elantra so much I got the 2017. While it’s fancier I miss old reliable. The car was super comfortable and roomy. Easy to drive. Low maintenance. Parts were inexpensive. I literally had to perform basic maintenance and the radiator. 14 years, 160,000 miles.

Unfailingly reliable, even after all these years

Bought my 2005 Hyundai Elantra GT new and it is still going strong nearly 15 years later. It has been such a reliable, comfortable car and I feel fortunate that I chose to buy and keep it for so long. It has never had a problem and the only work it has ever needed is routine maintenance. The interior is fairly comfortable with leather seats and is a noticeable step up from the comparable offerings from Toyota and Honda at the same or higher price point. Also worth noting is the exceptionally good visibility the driver has.

Most bang for the buck

in 2017 I bought the '05 Elantra for $1,800 with 100K miles. The power steering struggled at startup but a quick youtube search helped fix the problem in 2 minutes with a simple wrench tightening the tensioner for the alternator. Since it is a 4 cylinder, it was easy to change out all the spark plugs and I even changed out the alternator just in case. Took all of 10 minutes to change the alternator. Changed the upstream O2 sensor also which took all of 5 minutes. Such an easy car to maintain. Put in 34K miles in 2 years and never gave me any problems. Gets 39mpg on the hwy. One of the most reliable cars according to carcomplaints.com
