Great Value

I am enjoying the car very much. It is solid, fast and delivers 30-35 mpg. It has all the features I need in the GLS model - and then some. I specially enjoy the low noise level at high speeds - unlike others that have high wind and road noise. I would suggest a 5 speed automatic for a better shift pattern, It likes to get into 4th too quick - and that leaves low power for acceleration. Capn Jim

Great Valve, ok refinement.

We bought our 09 Elantra in June of 2009 and it has be trouble free since owning it. We use it as a commuter (80 miles/daily, M-F) and a run around car on the weekends primarily because of the gas mileage. It get about 28 mpg during the daily commute (approx. 70% hwy, 30% city). On our 2-hwy trips we got about 35 mpg at 70-75 mph. Good (but not great) gas mileage. I like the interior and exterior styling but seats could use better lumbar support as was event during our hwy trips. By comparison, we've made the same trips in an 08 Taurus (with lumbar support) and our backs felt much better. Our only other gripe is the engine noise during hard acceleration. The 95 Accord we had (which got wrecked) seemed more quiet and refined during hard acceleration. Overall, a good car for the money and a good commuter. The highway trips are for our 08 Taurus.

Good

I bought it in Nov. 2007. One year later i got problems with the steering wheel. The hat changed it 3 times. I am still complaining when i hit the interstate, car is not running straight. Also when i wait on the traffic light and cars and truck passing by, feels like the car shack a lot. on the Interstate a lot wind noise, also the tire a little to loud with the engine. Overall a good car for this price. I like the styling of this car.

Great Car for Anytime

I have had the car now for almost a year. Have had absolutely no problems with it. It is and excellent car to drive and own. Also I can fit me and my friends in the car comfortably and that is a plus since most of them are over 6 feet tall. It has handled pretty well as well in the Western New York winters. Definetly recommend this car to people.

Unbelievable Value

I purchased the Elantra last week and its more pleasrable to drive than I expected. I reserached the vehicle for three months and found it to be the vehicle for me. With warranty and MPG it was an unbelievable buy for me. I could not ask for more for my money than the Elantra. I would highly recommend the Elantra for anyone to save a buck and feel secure driving it with all its safety features.

hyundai elantra

The Elantra is a pleasant small sedan. We found the ride comfortable and road noise low, but the Elantra still isn't as agile as a Mazda3 or Honda Civic. The engine booms at high revs but returns good fuel economy. Cabin access is fairly easy, and the roomy interior is put together nicely. It also has more standard safety equipment than some competitors, includind ABS and curtain air bags, and electronic stability control on the SE trim. IIHS offset-crash results are good for the redesigned Elantra. First-year reliabiity has been much better than average.

Most reliable car I've owned

I had a Nissan Sunny Super Saloon automatic 2008 just before it. I had a Mitsubishi Lancer Sport automatic 2007 before the Sunny. I had a Daiwoo Nubira 2005 automatic before that. The Elantra is by far better than all of them. Better in design, exterior, interior, stability and fuel consumption. I love that car.
