2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe consumer reviews

The car has a serious problem with the a/c. After about 30 to 40 minutes the passenger side vents stop blowing cold air when a/c is turned on. I have had it back to the dealer 4 times to no avail. Started the Lemon Law process in Florida. Would not recommend this car!

Care makes so much noise from the clutch, transmission, and shifter. The turbo does not even work half the time. ALL of these models have this problem, and Hyundai refuses to fix the problem. DONT BUY THIS CAR, YOU ARE WARNED. WORST CAR EVER.

Purchased brand new 2013 GenCoupe and it developed a problem with right rear wheel lifting up in air & making very loud noises. Wouldn't easily drive forward or backward without a lot of force and noise. Took car to dealer I bought it from & they briefly looked at it & drove it a bit then announced they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Problem repeated itself a couple more times so took it to another Hyundai dealer. They have had it for two weeks. None of their mechanics can figure out what is wrong. A requisition was put in to District Manager who has notified "field engineer" to come & look at car. I was told there is only one field engineer in Western U.S. & nobody knows where he is or when he will come here to So. Calif. I am, of course, extremely upset and have lost my patience and faith in Hyundai, and in particular with their Genesis Coupe.

Very happy overall, however very disappointed with the quality of the stereo system. The power steering vibrates when turning.

We purchased the first 2013 Genesis Turbo Coupe our local dealer received in March of 2012 during final 4 of basketball. We loved the car, the turbo was quick and the fuel economy was great, we hit 31 mpg on our very first tank of gas through the vehicle. About 8 months into owning the vehicle we experienced a very loud noise from under the car. We were pulling onto the interstate and thought we had a tire going down the noise was that loud. Pulling to the side of the road there was nothing wrong. Driving on the noise never left....ever. We took the car into the dealer, it was checked over and no reason behind this noise level increase could be found. We listen to the radio on a volume level of 4 to 5, that had to be increased to 10 to be able to hear the songs. We traded this turbo off and picked up a 2013 Genesis Coupe Track edition. The seats were an upgrade as well as the exterior lights for my wife who drives early mornings in the car and needs the driving lights the track edition offered. However our love affair with the car has soured because now with less than 4000 miles on the car the automatic trans is slipping, not going into gear, at around the 20 mph and 30 mph zone. When the trans "does" finally grab the tires bark and the car does a lunge that the dealer really has not expressed an interest in finding. We are going to give the dealer one more attempt to fix this before we trade the car. The power is fantastic but if you don't have a solid transmission to match with the engine, all the power in the world won't get you out of the way of a truck on the highway if the trans won't mesh.

Not a review paid for by Hyundai like other reviews. This car is quick, rides well, looks good. The problem lies with the 2.0 T as the waste gate rattles and the transmission has a terrible grind. This is a known and common problem that Hyundai refuses to address or fix, saying its normal for the car to sound like its coming apart, tin can rattle, ratchety, and grinding gears. If you want a car that evokes sympathy from your friends, this is the car for you. Buyer beware.

car is fantastic in all regards aside from the lack of addressing the rattle sounds from the waste gate Hyundai said this was "normal" on my 2011 2.0t sonota and apparently its still "normal" and un corrected on my 2013 genesis it sounds like a k-car with no oil

My 2013 2.0T premium has a horrible rattle coming from the turbo waste. Hyundai refuses to fix mine or anyone else's saying its normal. Trust me when you hear the loose washers on a bolt sound coming from our cars you wouldn't like it either. Its awful! Wouldn't recommend this car to anyone since Hyundai refuses to fix them. It cost way to much money to own a car you are embarrassed to start around people.

I watched Cars.com for about a month or so tracking Genesis's, keeping a log of years, prices, mileage etc. On a road trip....I found one that intrigued me and ended up stopping into the dealership to check it out.....and I'm happy to say I walked out the door with it later that day. So far so good. Surprising power for a 4 banger, but the turbo really makes it fly. If this car holds up as well as my 10 year old grand prix did.....it will be fantastic.

So far this car has been great!!. Its fast, comfortable and looks sweet. I have so many compliments on this car and the power...is there when you need it. I wich it had a back up camera. I have been looking for a after market one and not have had nay luck.
