Amazed by the High Quality.

I never thought I would buy a Hyundai but when I passed a 2007 Santa Fe that was parked one day heading for work I thought it had some really nice styling and I decided to take a look at one considering I was in the market to buy a new car. When my son and I first sat in the vehicle at the dealership the first words out of my son was "Wow!", quickley followed by "Dad, buy it". Now, I wasn't going to buy anything without putting it through a road test and also under MY microscope, (I am a stickler for quality and performance, my last two cars were a Camry and an Accord). Putting it on the street the first thing I noticed was how quiet the car was, not just the sound of the engine, but how really quiet it was from the outside noises. The excelleration was more then I expected from an SUV and putting on the brakes (in an empty parking lot) at various speeds with the hands off the steering wheel still brought the vehicles to a straight as an arrow stop. After really going through this vehicle for quite some time trying to see if I could find something, anything to complain about I came to the conclusion that it was just a well thought of and well designed quality vehicle. It had sold itself on me without any salesman around trying to convince me to buy it. When I got home I told my wife about, she test drove one the following weekend and as expected she fell in love with it. We bought and drove our Santa Fe off the lot that same day. We bought the SE model with the entertaiment package which the kids love and the wife and I also love since our long rides are much more quiet from the back seat since the kids are occupied either watching movies or listening to their music CD's with the included wireless headphones. I highly recommend the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Fun Car to Drive - I Love It

We shopped around and had to pick something that both husband and I liked and felt comfortable in. Great safety features, comfortable for road trip as passenger and for me to drive and manuvers well on the streets. I have the 2.7 Liter engine and with the V6 I still have plenty of pickup-and-go. The mpg is good considering a gallon of gas costs over $3. I love my new vehicle!

2007 Santa Fe

Purchased a 3.3 242hp AWD Hyundai Santa Fe, and it is a fantastic SUV. Priced lower than the competition, yet has all the features you could ask for and more! 240hp on regular unleaded gas? check. Smooth, comfortable ride? check. Excellent quality and design? check. This was the best decision I've ever made.

Hyundia has come a long way.

I started out looking for a bigger car, to replace my 2005, Audi A4. I wanted a Lexus RX 330 or Audi Q7. I decided I didn't have to spend $25,000 more for either of them after looking at, and test driving a Santafe Limited. Dollar for dollar this car had everything a was looking for and then some. I am still amazed at the build quality and the interior. The Satafe truly looks and drives like a luxury SUV costing thousands more...and with a much better warranty. My only complaint after 300 miles of ownership is that I still haven't reached 20 miles per gallon. This could be because of the break in period. One safty issue is the absance of an interior light over the front seats. This isn't something you look for during the purchasing process. You expect that the front seats will be illuminated when you open the car door at night. The Hyundia engineers clearly missed the mark for interior illumination. The interior light lights the rear seatback and cargo are fine...however the driver doesn't get into the back seat. When getting into the car at night the front seats are in total darkness. This really is a safty issue that Hyundia should correct and retro fit for current owners.

Extremely Impressed

I have recently been SUV shopping for the first time and was certainly looking towards a smaller SUV what with gas-prices these days. I test drove several SUVs and despite my original apprehensions about Hyundai, I was certainly surprised by the 07 Santa Fe. I am 6'3'' about 245 and was amazed at the leg room. The interior light missing from the front is a bit of a pain as was mentioned in a previous review; it might be the only thing I change. The amount of cargo space is impressive compared to the 2006 version. It looks great...I get a lot of looks when I am driving it. It drives very well, a lot different then the VW Passat I traded in for it...it is certainly not as tight, but still unbelievably easy to manage especially in tight turns in a parking lot. Don't let the brand scare you. I would absolutely recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market.

Great style and features for the money

Great set of standard features for a vehicle in this price range. I love the handling, and the controls are simple to use and easy to access. It has a very upscale look without the upscale price tag. The center storage compartmet/armrest is a little short to be used very comfortably for either purpose by the driver, but the center armrest for the rear seat passengers is well sized. The cargo area is huge for this size vehicle. I really like the sectioned storage compartments under the cargo floor. The radio/stereo is a little weak with average sound quality. I would definitely recommend an upgrade beyond the standard. Overall I am very pleased with my Santa Fe. I've gotten many compliments on it and truly enjoy driving it.

First SUV I've ever owned

I've had this vehicle for about 3 weeks. It's fun to drive and very easy to handle in the city. Parking is a breeze. The jury is still out on the gas mileage. It's higher than quoted but I'll wait and see after the break-in period. The only thing that bugs me a bit is when you open the door, there is no light in the front part of the vehicle. The back light goes on but it's fairly dark in the front area. Love the heated leather seats and the sunroof. Very stable and comfortable seating.
