1999 Jaguar XK8 consumer reviews

If you are after comfort and looks, this is the car for you, but, and here's the big but, be prepared to spend more than normal for maintenance. It is a Jaguar, and that is a small company, and there are not that many dealers to take the car to, and when you do, bring a full wallet or a very good credit card. Not a sports car. This is a grand touring car, and not something for the race track. It is pretty quick for what it is, and it does handle well.

For a SPORT vehicle. . . surprisingly comfortable. Stable. Secure ride. For city and highway. Inexpensive as used. . . as a four passenger seating area. . . not for family with children. Rear seating is close and best used for shopping items. Once repairs are done they last. The 1999 Jaguar xk8 convertible. inexpensive to Insure as a classic.

I have owned many sports cars over the years. Several British cars including MGBs, Sunbeams and have spent hours driving XK150s and XKEs. In addition to the XK8 I own a 2005 SL55. I had an opportunity to purchase my 1999 XK8 from the first owner with 40,000 miles. The price was so reasonable I could not pass it up. I though I would flip it and double my money. Once I got behind he wheel I could not let it go. It drives and handles like a Jaguar. I’m not sure how they did it the handling and driving experience are totally retro which I love. This is nothing like an SL. The seats are softer. The acceleration seamless. I really love this car and suspect it will be in my stable for a long time!

It is a beautiful car, I love it ,but I am getting to old to get out of it, and to low for me .

owned around 6 great looks,couple had timing chain problems entry not good for 6'+,hit head,tight quarters-so why do i buy them?? can't resist

The car met my needs for 14 years. It has very few problems, nothing that was not fixable. And it has all been fixed and repainted.

First, the XK8 is gorgeous! It rivals it's grandfather, the E-Type Jaguar, in the looks and exceeds it in performance and comfort. Standard equipment includes options from other manufacturers, like ABS, leather interior, skid control, climate control, etc. I have owned ten Jaguars and this one is the tops for comfort and features. The ride is comfortable but the car can corner like a sports car. The rich wood and leather interior is like an English Club. The exhaust note is quiet unless one hits the accelerator hard at which time the Jaguar will snarl in response. Other than poor depreciation -- which makes them affordable for the second and third owners -- the XK8 rates a 9.5 out of 10.

Soo beautiful and living in Hollywood it is the perfect car. Turns heads even in this town....Sure it's "temperamental" So what...get a good mechanic and you are set for life...

I have owned 2 other Jags and this XK8 is the most eye catching one of them all. The handling is sweat and the lines of the car in like no other. I love driving down the street and watching folks point and steer at the car. Absolutely wonderful.

Anybody who advertises a price...then in the seller's notes gives an "oh-by-the-way" the real price is + $3,000.00 Dishonest. Scam artists. Shameful.
