The Jaguar XK8 is natual successor to the venerable XK-E. The XK8 retains many of the design elements of the 60s era sports car pioneer, yet it is a modern, very well equipped sports car for today. Jaguar has solved the past quality problems that diminished the brand in the 70s and 80s, and the current cars among the best rated in terms of quality by JD Powers. The 1997 - 2006 model XK8 design is among the most beautiful of any car on the road. The 1997 - 1999 wood dash with analog guages is aestheticall the most pure - later years added a navigation system that in my view ruined the pure sports car looks. While this car is a boulevard cruiser rather than a flat out racer, it drives like a sports car. It handles like a dream, very precise, with a very small turning circle. And it snaps heads everywhere it goes. It is particularly attractive to women - drivers and passengers alike. The 290 HP V8 engine delivers the growl and torque one would hope for a car of this type. A late 90s model is a real steal - it is very affordable and allows Jaguar lovers to buy a weekend racer without breaking the bank.
