I have one, and like it very much; up to a point.

If you are after comfort and looks, this is the car for you, but, and here's the big but, be prepared to spend more than normal for maintenance. It is a Jaguar, and that is a small company, and there are not that many dealers to take the car to, and when you do, bring a full wallet or a very good credit card. Not a sports car. This is a grand touring car, and not something for the race track. It is pretty quick for what it is, and it does handle well.

A solid design and fun comfy ride for a sports car

For a SPORT vehicle. . . surprisingly comfortable. Stable. Secure ride. For city and highway. Inexpensive as used. . . as a four passenger seating area. . . not for family with children. Rear seating is close and best used for shopping items. Once repairs are done they last. The 1999 Jaguar xk8 convertible. inexpensive to Insure as a classic.

Back to the Future

I have owned many sports cars over the years. Several British cars including MGBs, Sunbeams and have spent hours driving XK150s and XKEs. In addition to the XK8 I own a 2005 SL55. I had an opportunity to purchase my 1999 XK8 from the first owner with 40,000 miles. The price was so reasonable I could not pass it up. I though I would flip it and double my money. Once I got behind he wheel I could not let it go. It drives and handles like a Jaguar. Iā€™m not sure how they did it the handling and driving experience are totally retro which I love. This is nothing like an SL. The seats are softer. The acceleration seamless. I really love this car and suspect it will be in my stable for a long time!
