Really Impressed and Happy

After my 2006 BMW X3 started costing an arm and a leg to keep up (still under 80k) I decided to shop around the compact SUV market. I should mention, we are also expecting our first child so I wanted to find the perfect vehicle that suited my wife, child and myself. After looking at Mazda CX5, RAV 4, Escape, Tiguan and Tuscon, we chose the Jeep and I could not be happier. It really blows most of these out of the water. I'm a german car guy and have always been weary of american cars but i believe those days are gone. In fact, the only other SUV I considered was the Ford Escape. Price held us back from buying the Ford. It added up quickly. The Jeep is super stylish and the front end is really the selling point for me. I'm really critical of lines on cars and an artist, so for me this is saying A LOT. I love the Range Rover Evoque, so for me this heads in that direction with style. The interior is super comfortable and quiet. It feels safe and drives like a dream. The 9 speed transmission is ridiculously smooth and so far our MPG has been around 28 around Los Angeles traffic. That is incredible considering our Honda Civic gets around 31 and my BMW was lucky to get 18.

Blows the competition away

I am a 46 year old female in the financial industry. Believe me, I looked at 2013 and 2014 SUVs from all makes and models in all different sizes and price ranges, plus I did a lot of online research. My whole research time was more than six months, and I compared absolutely everything on all small and midsize SUV that I could find. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee definitely offers the biggest bang for the buck for the price paid. My favorite things, as a woman, are the 8.4 inch touch screen, which is the largest in the industry as of now, and the luxurious interior, which was the nicest of any model I looked at.. The touch screen is extremely easy to use with everything on the car right there. This was a big deal for me, because I have found every car with a touch screen that have owned in the recent years to be difficult to use and frustrating, so much that I never fully understood how to operate everthing on the car, because it was such a hassle. I don't have that problem with the Jeep. I completely understand how to operate everything on the touch screen because it is so easy, and I have only owned the car for two days. The navigation system on the car works great. .I definitely recommend getting the V-6 engine. The cargo space is small compared to other same size models that I looked at, but you can slide the back seats forward six inches, and they fold down, The Grand Cherokee is seven inches longer at 189 inches than the Cherokee's 182 inches, so that's where the cargo space went. One tip: Avoid the black leather seats , if they automatically come with white stiching. It looks cheap, and it seems like it would be a real pain to keep the white stiching clean. Apparently, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee offers black leather interior with red stiching, but I got the gray and black leather two tone interior. This automatically comes with black stitching and black carpet and looks great. The back up camera is very clear, unlike some other models I looked at. So many of the SUVs on the market today look so similiar on the outside, but the Jeep's distinctive grill separates it from the rest.. At first glance it looks like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I like that, because someone might think I paid more for my Jeep than I did. I almost bought a Jeep Cherokee back in 2000, and I am so glad they brought it back for 2014, plus the styling looks great. I like the fact that the Jeep Cherokee is new for 2014, so there are not that many of them on the road yet. I have a feeling that will change. Perhaps it will make my 2014 Jeep Cherokee hold up in value, and it can't be mistaken for an older car..

Transmission issues

Have owned my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited for 5 weeks and have had increasingly more issues with the 9 speed transmission. Yesterday it started making noises at about 35 miles per hour and took it to the dealer. They were able to replicate the problem, called Jeep and I was then informed I will need a new transmission. Thankfully under warranty and was given a loaner. I still really like this vehicle, but am concerned what the future trans will be like. I've also experienced multiple problems with pairing my phone, even bought a new smart phone as customer service suggested. It only recognized my new phone for one day and the voice recognition systems won't work without phone pairing. Also an inflatable spare in not included.

Teacher

The nine speed transmission and the ease of the instrumentation has been remarkable. The V-6 is zippy but still seems to get great mileage. The ability to select various four wheel drive adjustments makes it a great vehicle for Wyoming where we live. The seats are comfortable and the overall visibility is also a great asset. We are looking forward to many years of driving with our Cherokee.

great surprise

I've always owned imports. My husband reccommended the New Cherokee. It's soooooo nice, smooth, the interior is awesome, I love it. The leather is totally luxurious, the V6 has all the power I need, but the features I like the best are the remote start, heated seats and the amazing heated steering wheel. Wow, wow, wow. I start the car from the house and it's so cozy by the time I get in it. Wow, wow, wow

No Spare ? Down Shifting Felt !

Yes .... there is not a spare tire on the 2 wheel drive Cherokee Latitude ... 30 thousand and does n't have one , and the other thing when I test drove this one , when slowing down you felt the transmission down shift and yes it was noticeable ...and I felt it several times thru out the test drive... maybe I drove a lemon I thought..., so I went to another dealer and drove the Limited Cherokee and there was no spare tire and it did the same thing when slowing down but not as noticeable as on the latitude model I drove.. Liked the Idea of the compartment under the front passengers seat .. and the seats were comfortable . but I still did not buy it not with the transmission shifting I felt on either model

My wife loves the2014 Jeep Cherokee

We just trade our 2010 GMC Yukon Denali for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited.. In our first week we did 1400 miles with day one at 422 miles. The Jeep is so comfortable and instead of getting 16 mpg as with our GMC we averaged 28 mpg on the interstate. Our Jeep is black with the black and silver interior. It is fully optioned out except for the sunroof (my wife hates sunroofs), CD player and the trailer package. I thought the ride would not rival our GMC but it is really equal according to my wife. (That's important) The 6 cyl engine is very responsive and quiet. The GMC had a throaty exhaust sound (normal for that car) The Jeep exhaust is very quiet. All the bells and whistle controls are very easy to operate once you read the book. The fuel fill on the right side is great as I can go on the side of the gas pumps without a line. Storage spots are numerous and in so many places in the car. You can hide almost anything out of sight. Since I do not like badges, all Jeep ID's on the body have been removed. Easy to do with a hair dryer, monofilament line and Goof Off to remove residual adhesive. Looks a lot better. What we don't like: Steering wheel adjustment should be electric (instead of locking lever) and perhaps go down a little lower (although it might block some instrumentation), passenger seat should be electric (not the pump lever) as some strength is needed to raise or lower it. We live in the country where lighting is important and the High Intensity automatic headlights are really great. This item is a must get. Our insurance company rated all the safety provisions and gave us a reduction in our insurance rate (an unexpected plus) Over all, this is a great car which has pleasantly surprised both my wife and myself beyond our expectations.

Reliable, Sporty, Stylish, Lots of Space!

The new Jeep Cherokee Latitude is something I'll recommend to all mid-segment SUV hunters. This segment has many players and it kind of confuses us. A few reasons why the cherokee is a good buy: 1. A jeep is a jeep. Period! 2. This jeep has an unbelievable style quotient, Just look around for one and you will know. 3. There are storage areas at places you will not expect them to find. You have one under the passenger seat, underneath the luggage area, tray added to the box between the seats, one at the dashboard with anti slip matting ideal for coins etc. 4. Alongwith heated seats, it has heated steering wheel, a favorite with me and anyone during the winters. The remote start has climate control options. 5. Lots of control buttons for add ons on the steering wheel! Controls almost anything! 6. Has voice controlled phone usage. 7. LCD screen for all controls within the car 8. Pick up which you will love. Doesnt end there, if you are looking for some real fun, you can switch to manual gear shift - an integrated setting in the same automatic assembly. 9. Completely foldable seats add up to the oddles of space for a mig segment SUV. I can go on!! This is a car which I`ll recommend strongly to anyone looking at the mid segment SUV market.
