Jeep's longest lasting engine and transmission

Best car I've ever owned. The V6 engine will go for hundreds of thousands of miles. Quadra Trac II transmission super reliable.

Very dependable, never let me down.

I bought this car used four years ago and did some work on it. Then it got me through two years of college and sports that I commuted to each day, and it has taken me to work and play since. It's been a good dependable car, and still is. I like this one so much, that I bought another Grand Cherokee now that I have a decent job. I hope I do as well with this one.

235k Miles and Still Running Strong!

The 4.7L V8 was voted the 6th best engine of 1999 and it is proving that to me. The solid V8 with a 4-speed automatic has got me anywhere I want to go. This car will plow through snow, rock crawl, but also offer a smooth ride at freeway speeds. It gives great power at any speeds. The exterior styling was one of the first crossover styled looks for 1999 and still blends in well with today's cars. The interior has good tech and holds up very well with time. These cars go for dirt cheap and yes, you will need to do minor repairs here and there, but as long as it was maintained well, it will go forever!

175k miles from new a great performer

We owned our 1999 Grand Cherokee from new, and over 18 years put almost 175k miles on it. It performed with flying colors as a highway cruiser (many cross-country trips), off-road workhorse (into the Wyoming backcountry many times), family hauler (brought both my kids home from the hospital in it it when they were born), moving truck and commuter vehicle. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.

Love the older style of these Jeeps

Never lets me down even in some serious off road driving, gets 19-20 MPG which is better than a lot of SUV's but I could want some better mileage.

It's the bee's knees of trucks, I love it.

I loved my Jeep, it's the most reliable car I ever had. My sister bought her a Jeep because she loved everything about this suv, I am going to buy me another one very soon. Maybe my kids can help me get a new Jeep, that would be great.

Great Mix of Off Road Capabilities and On Road

I have owned my Limited Grand Cherokee (4.7 V8) for a handful of years and the car has not yet once left me stranded. This vehicle is AMAZING in the snow with the Quadra Drive transfer case, having two limited slip differentials both in front and rear make Chicago snow an absolute joke. My jeep is no where near stock, with a lift kit, and various other upgrades on it. This platform has outstanding after market support, parts are cheap, and many of the repairs can be done your self.
