Reliable, powerful, classic!

A great year for this vehicle. I'd buy it again because of classic styling, powerful engine, and luxury interior.

Very unhappy

I am on my 4th Jeep - started out with a 1995 loved and upgraded to a 2001 hated the computer quatro track traded it in for a 2004 with manual 4wd Loved Loved Loved. was in a car accident this last year and had to get a new jeep (2006) hate hate hate the interior sucks hate hate the seats are not made for long road trips very uncomfortable, head rest sucks. I lost head room, driver's seat doesn't go down enough because of the motor and the heated seat thing on it. I almost think I lost interior room too (width). Seats show every water stains. I have only had this 2006 for under 6 months and as soon as I can I am trading it in and getting something other than a jeep. Can't tell if the dumb thing is in 4wd or not. I drive up and down icey hills all winter long and 4wd would be nice to have on when you go down the hill too not just when the computer thinks it slipped. I have spend many hours on the internet looking at the new models and I don't like them. I am done with Jeeps

Jeep

We bought this vehicle used with 19,000 mile on it- traded it after 120,000 miles. I can't belive the retail price on a new one-for $40,000-$60,000. Maintanance costs are high-mileage average, but safety and solid driving in winter make up for any short comings.

Luxury meets Dependability

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of features the standard model comes with. The only concern we had before purchase was the gas mileage; and it has not been a problem. We bought our Jeep used, and our mechanic was very impressed with the lack of 'wear and tear.' A good, solid SUV choice with a touch of class. We love our Jeep!

We'll wait and see...

Purchased this car to prepare for a student about to endure long, hard Buffalo winters. Overall styling appealed and Jeep reputation for good snow/ice performance. First Jeep/Chrysler product owned. Four months in too soon to tell about "legendary" Jeep performance but gas mileage is very disappointing. As to snow/ice performance, wait and see...

Do yourself a favor

Do yourself a favor and buy ANYTHING else. Bought brand new 2006 anniversary edition...15 days out of the lot needed new engine. I have been in/out of the shop every few months for the last 5 years with major problems from leaks, to computer for shifting gears, etc, etc..... Tried to trade, but everyone out there seems to know that Jeeps are not worth it. So I am left with a car that is not reliable, does not hold its value, and is costing me money every few months. Wish I had read a review like this before I gave them my $.

Jeep overland 5.7L hemi

Great jeep. I can stand in the throttle and take corners at speeds like a sportscar. It's silent at idle, has a great note at around 4500 rpm and I like the instant acceleration. I pull a 5000 lb boat with great ease and it barely knows its there. The only down side is MPG blows. I have a heavy foot and get 12 city and 16 hwy

Never again!!

I've been the not so proud owner of a 2006 Jeep GC for over 3 years now and had never had a single thing go wrong... that is until I was a couple miles outside of my warranty. At 78k miles my transmission dropped out the bottom, I've maintained my vehicle meticulously and have never gone off road with it. After talking to other jeep owners I've come to realize that I'm not alone. I apparently belong to an elite club of consumers who are lucky enough to fork out $3,300 every couple of years and throw it aimlessly at their car. If i was going to invest that kind of money into my jeep I would've much rather slapped an 8" lift kit and installed some lamborgine doors on it. I might still do that... anything to distract people from the fact that it no longer moves without being pushed ;)
