Handles All Road Conditions Superbly

I bought the 4 WD Overland with 20" wheels. It sits up high like a truck but is solidly stable and sure-footed. The Saddle Leather interior is elegant and classy. It has two rows of seats so it doesn't feel like you're driving a redesigned mini-van. All the bells and whistles are cool. I highly recommend this car for those who like to hit the road. The V6 gets me 23 highway and will go 500 miles before a fill up.

My first new American car!

After owning many Japanese and German cars, I thought I would be too hard to please to buy an American car. I was shocked to find how far American cars had come. The quality is among the highest, the performance, handling, and ride are unbeatable, and the value is outstanding. The only vehicles that compete with the new Grand Cherokee cost twice as much. Buying this is a no-brainer, if you want this type of vehicle. Sorry Cayenne and Range Rover. The Jeep got me and I love it. It tows 7,400 lbs and is a joy to drive. It is the most comfortable thing I've ever driven and handles incredibly well. My other car is a Boxster S, so I don't like to slow down for curves.

Not recommended

We have the Overland model. It is stylish, comfortable and -- with the new Pentastar V6 -- has sufficient power. But I cannot recommend it because of quality and reliability problems. The worst aspect is the air suspension, which has died twice; a review of Jeep forums reveals this is a widespread problem. We have also had water leaks and some of the interior wood trim has already started to separate. Jeep has been less than forthcoming. If you must have a new JGC, then get one without an air suspension. We made a major mistake in our first domestic purchase in 31 years.

Great Strides and Improvement - Great Value!

Jeep has made massive improvement with this vehicle and it shows that they are focusing on the right thing; Customer satisfaction and true competition with the benchmarks in the industry. Naturally the mix of Mercedes design/engineering and the new ownership have something to do with this and have hopes that it will infect all aspects of the business! The benchmarks for the Overland (what we purchased) were based on all the leaders in the segment (Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, etc.) and it shows. I currently have or had all the competitive models and speak from experience and while the Jeep is not up to everything the competition has but it is light years from where they once were. Factor in the value/price for what you get and suddenly you find that the GC is in the same category as the best in this class. I recommend that anyone considering an SUV in the $40k plus to check out this and compare it to the others you are considering. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The only "weak" spot I feel the GC has is the V8 engine. Fuel economy is what you would expect from the Hemi but it could be better just the same as performance and sound emanating from the engine. If the Hemi could produce better acceleration combined with it's low end torque it would be up their with the "best" engines available. As it stands, it is merely adequate but a worth the upgrade from the V6 if you desire reasonable acceleration and passing performance, albeit at a cost in fuel economy. The only other thing Jeep could do to improve upon the luxury sport vehicle is to add a little more sound deadening material in the fire wall area to keep the sounds from the engine which aren't all that sexy considering that it's a Hemi, muted. Either that or make it sound sexy like the Porsche. Overall, a great improvement and a very good vehicle that easy achieves great vehicle when you consider the price/value for what you pay.

Love My Jeep!

I had a 2008 Dodge Charger that I really liked....but it was terrible in the snow. My husband and I decided to trade in our Charger for an SUV. I have always driven Mopars.....so we checked out most of the models available. At first we were not sure what we wanted.....but once we looked into the Jeep Grand Cherokee we knew it was the one for us. Love the new body style and it is very comfortable. We also have the tow package, and Quadra Trac II. I have only had my Jeep for a couple of weeks but really love it!

Awesome!

This is my sixth Grand Cherokee and it is absolutely awesome. The car looks great inside and out- it looks a lot more expensive than it is. The quality and fit/finish are impechable. The paint looks like an emerald. The features for this price range are amanzing- the electronics and gadgets are cutting edge. Compared to the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, they cannot hold a stick to the Grand Cherokee in terms of looks and value. Why would anyone want to spend more money for signifficantly less content! Well done Chrysler!
