I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. I just have it 6 months and have so many problems with it! The shifting was a huge problem and still is they already replaced a valve body , dashboard lit up like a Christmas display ( a few times) they updated the software , couldn't get gas it would click off like it was full (they replaced a vent hose), there is a rattle in the engine and they keep telling me its normal and its not! I was unable to change the radio station from the radio itself and the steering wheel (they updated the software again. )The blower for the heat and air was not working, when it did there was a nasty smell (they blew out the blower )vibrates here and there when I'm at a light, feels like its going to stall sometimes(RPM's drop)headlights were going off at night(again another update on the software). The list could go on! Oh and as far as getting your truck serviced at other Jeep dealers other then the one you bought it from has been false, I went to Merrick-dodge and the guy was so nasty! He basically told me if My dealer couldn't fix it what would make you think I could fix it? He was nasty!!!! (because they did not get the sale) Well I took my truck out if there! So when they tell you cold go anywhere they LIE! Today I went to town & country and they said my best bet would be to go back to my dealer. Again in a nice way they turned me away.(he did say oh you can come back but I can't give you a Loaner car)but you could tell they don't want to service the truck! I bought this jeep to have something reliable , that is so not the case!!! Would I buy Jeep again? NO!!!! I have contacted Chrysler too! This is very frustrating!!!!! Who has time to be at the dealers almost every week? I get in the truck and say what is going to be today's problem?

Traded in my s5 for the jeep about 3 weeks ago, it was a big change but a positive one - although Audi provide nice service facilities they didn't take any care with the car and actually damaged it on two separate occasions. Not good. So we started to think about trading in for a q7 to handle the horrible NYC roads, and fortunately we came across the jeep. I had noticed the new design on the roads so we looked at the pricing and found it to be very good compared to BMW (overpriced/underspec/cheap materials) Audi (reliability issues/old design inside and out). We went to have a test drive and couldn't believe the standard of build and design of this car they really have done an excellent job. Even a leather covered dash, really well executed. The car has everything you need, heated stealing, cooled seats, connectivity to everything, really nice wheels (forged finish, not painted), auto close gate - absolutely everything for less than 50k. Compared to the q7 interior, which is now clearly made out of vinyl, not leather along with most other audis this car easily surpasses on design value and looks. The v6 is plenty of power and gives good economy, coupled with the German 8 speed sport tran. Buy this car, and don't spend 20k extra on a German low spec SUV or any other car they make. Jeep body is also galvanized - made in USA.

Purchased a new Black 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with the beautiful Grand Canyon interior. 5.7 V8 4x4. Love the 8-speed and the improved gas mileage (I owned a 2012 Overland Summit). The new technology features such as the 8.4" UConnect and 7" Driver display are awesome. Still based off the Mercedes M platform which provides an excellent driving experience with a combination of comfort, luxury, sport and still the ruggedness of a Jeep to handle all driving conditions. Let the road trips begin.

Then it was one problem after the next, first was the radio, then the HVAC they still can not find a fix for that, then it was the electronic transmission, then the remote start would not work and so on..... I have had it for less than a year and I am done!!!!!!

This is an almost home run with the turbo diesel. Plenty of power, great features, and the best nav & controls I've seen. BUT, we just did our first trip towing our boat (5000 pounds total w trailer). The torque is amazing but going up hills it will overheat if you don't slow down or turn off the AC. The cooling system is woefully inadequate. Did anyone not test this in California? It was only 85 degrees and still would have gone into the red if I hadn't slowed. You want to downshift but higher revs makes it run hotter. I've done the same route to Lake Mead and Lake Powell along I-15 when its 112 out. I still need to discuss with the dealer and then Chrysler to see a fix.

I wish all of the early build 2014 JGC buyers would post updates after their issues were cleared up. I suppose you don't have anything to post about if you aren't complaining. I bought my 2014 JGC Altitude (V6, 4x4, black on black on black, May 2014 build date) last week, and the first 500 miles have been stellar. This is my first SUV in about 15 years, and in that time I have purchased and driven a number of Audi and BMW sedans. I got this because I needed a change, and wanted something that could handle whatever life might throw at me over the next 5 years. I was a little nervous about the transmission/electrical problems that some people have complained about. I think the most important realization that I came to was that Jeep is selling 18,000 of the JGC per MONTH, and so the problems on the reviews are therefore blown way out of proportion, especially if you think that someone who got a bad one is probably likely to post their problem in a number of discussion forums and reviews. The problems seems to be mostly software related rather than hardware. So here is my take.... I have avoided SUVs in general because I felt they were slow, cumbersome, inefficient, and unrefined in terms of interior quality, ride, and handling. While no SUV will match a nice German sedan in these areas, I am happy to say that this JGC beats the other German, Japanese, and American SUVs on the market that I tested (Q5, Q7, X3, X5, 4Runner, Explorer). The updates to the interior and the infotainment center really hammer the point home that this JGC is setting the standard for all other SUVs in the world. The only thing I worry about is that if I do need service in the future, the Jeep dealers don't seem to offer a lot in the way of a loaner fleet, so I have to plan my life around that a little bit.

Drove the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2 times as a rental car and loved it. The feature rich package was easy to use and pleasant to drive. I was in the market for a new family vehicle and decided on the Gand Cherokee Overland. We now owned it for a month and feel even more positive about our purchase decision. The interior is very comfortable. I love the leather seats; the ventilation and sound system have been exceptional. I like the integration of the cell phone into the sound system and large screen. I have not typed a text message since buying the car: it reads the messages audibly and permits voice reply with excellent voice recognition. I have also been very pleased with gas mileage. The instrument cluster continually displays the current mileage and it along with the ECO mode has helped to train my heavy foot. On the first two tanks of fuel we had 22 MPG and that included plenty of city driving.

This is the 5th Grand Cherokee that I have owned, my first was a 2001. this one just astounds me in the upgrade in ride and comfort compared to the 2010. better ride, quitter, and the u-connect system is very user friendly, overall I am thrilled with this vehicle. it feels like a luxury car instead of a more than capable SUV. Love the back up camera graphics (so clear) I would definitely recommend this vehicle. Great job Jeep Congrats.

I agree with the last review . Having to call the dealer all the time for repair. Quality is pretty bad . When you call the customer service number they put you on hold and contact the dealer . Certainly not worth the money and hassle dealing with problems.
