Jeep

I had my seat cover come loose at 1,000 miles. Jeep refuses to fix it. The transmission does not downshift past 3rd gear without coming to a complete stop. So if you just slow down, you then have no power to get out of anyone's way or to proceed. You then have to shift into sport mode or come to a complete stoop. The transmission clunks into gear. It is way to easy to bump the transmission into neutral when getting your drink out of the cup holder. This is a safety issue on the freeway. You have to come to a complete stop to put it back in drive. The dealer says that is they way it is and I need to get use to it. The air height adjustment and alarm door locks sometimes work and sometimes do not. The heated seat is a jock compared to my old Explorer.

Great Car!!!

I have just bought my first ever Jeep, and it's great. It's very comfortable (especially in the urban jungle of Manhattan's potholes).

Luvmyjeep

I do LUV my jeep . I gave 4 stars on interior because of paddles for accelerating and decelerating . They get in the way when reaching for the indicator signal. I was trying to get on I-40 accidentally hit that and everyone started honking at me. Oops problem . I'm used to it now that I've been driving it. My husband has had the same happen to him . Takes getting used to.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee

The first Jeep I purchased two years ago was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2012; however, I didn't get the whistles or bells; however, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, has all the whistles and bells, and I've bonded with the upgrade. It is by far the best car I've ever owned. So, I remain very impressed.

I have regrets...

First American car I bought in over 20yrs. and I'm nervous. First 10 weeks was in shop twice for electrical issues and Uconnect screen problems. Dealership returned car to me filthy and with an interior panel hanging open with insulation and wires exposed - I took it back to show them and I literally cried. I expect better service for a $50K car purchase. V8 has lousy gas mileage - averaging only 14.4 in the city. The paddle shifter drives me batty and is cumbersome. The car is beautiful, but not ready for prime time. Usually keep my cars till they die, but I'm thinking I'll trade this one at year 5 if things don't improve. Will go back to my imports.

No Spare body Parts can be supplied to Australia

No Jeep Parts on Australia. Sorry to bad mouth Jeep but I am totally disappointed. My brand new Grand Cherokee 2014 has now been in the panel shop for over 5 months waiting for new body parts. Jeep Australia has been useless in helping to get the right new parts from the USA but has found second had parts for me from a wrecker. January 3rd 2014 my 8 week old Grand Cherokee was hit on the roof by falling tree. At earliest, it will be 6 months before it is back on the road. Damage cost will be around $22,000.

Nice look

Great looks esp. With the 5-spoke 20" rims Interior would get 5-stars if not for the funky and unnecessary shifter.

Get a diesel!

I traded in my 2007 Grand Cherokee 4x4 3.0L Diesel for 2014 Grand Cherokee 4x4 3.0L Diesel. My new SUV is a great vehicle. I get 25.3 mpg on 50-50 highway and city driving as opposed to 22.0 mpg for my old one. I actually get around 28.0 mpg on highway as the sticker indicates. Torque at low rpm range is just awesome going up hill or driving through thick snow in Michigan. 420 ft-lbs is better than 5.7L HEMI. It is quite, and powerful. One of my Japanese friends said it drives like Lexus. Styling is classy with Black Forest Green, There a re a few minor xxxx ups. I do find a lack of smoothness of transmission at low speed in parking lots. Its infortaiment system is intuitive and easy to use except a bit of inconsistency in phone connection and NAV usage. I also find there is no convenient storage for small things like coins. As far as reliability goes, I can not make a judgment yet. Despite of some small xxxx-ups, it is a great vehicle overall.
