lemon
I cannot believe the amount of things that went wrong. i owned this SUV for 6 months(bought it used with 9000 miles from a dealer) transmission went out in 6 months and in garage for 1 month, a month later the water system went out, a week later the electrical system went wrong (still not reliable), 6 replacement batteries for the remote key in a year (was told that could be normal) and now the power break booster went out. does not qualify for lemon law ( 3 of the same problems need to be present in Pa.) Ppl told me not to buy it. I'll listen from now on.

HAPPY WITH MY NEW JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
I traded in my 2012 Toyota Highlander Limited for a new JGC Summit 2WD, V-6 a month ago and so far have been extremely happy with my purchase. My Toyota was a nice crossover SUV, but I wanted something a little more truck like...a true SUV. Over time, the Toyota also began to feel more like a family hauling wagon with little wow factor. The JGC sure fixed that! I got the Cashmere color with brown interior and it is gorgeous! The V-6 coupled with the 8 speed tranny provides plent of power and I'm averaging around 22 MPG, driving mostly in eco mode. The ride is firm, but very smooth, quiet and comfortable. Steering has nice weight and responsiveness. I Love 19 speaker Summit sound system! The Summit model does come equipped with a lot of computer controlled, touch screen, electronic comfort and safety features that wll probably draw mixed reviews from owners. Tech savvy owners will love them, while some of those tech challenged folks that have trouble programming their TEVO or using a smart phone might find them confusing. I think many of the electronic problems reported in some owner reviews are due more to operator error than actual system malfunctions. If you haven't driven a new, higher end car in a while, you really need to spend some time with the owners manual to figure out how everything works. I haven't owned this JGC long enough to comment on reliability, but haven't had any issues during the first four weeks. Overall this is a gorgeous, comfortable, great driving SUV that I get complements on all the time. I think the JGC is the best SUV you can buy for under $50K.

So much for research
I researched for nearly 5 months before buying my GJC Overland. I came from and still own a 06 4Runner 106000 miles and counting. Super reliable. I wanted something with more bells and whistles than 4Runner offers. I bought the GJC in Nov. 2014, it has been in the shop 3 times, next week's appt. makes 4 times. First time: Gas door wouldn't open, problems with acceleration when pulling out or merging, serious, dangerous hesitation and problems with the radio, and GPS. Bluetooth not working. Second time: GPS not working, floating car arrow icon. Third time: GPS not working, wrong directions (tested on known routes), the dealer replaced the radio. Forth time: (next week) floating car arrow, GPS not working on known route. I am told by services that last week a new patch/complete reset of GPS, made by Garmin was released. So far at the dealer I purchased the vehicle, both a salesperson and a service rep have stated they have the same vehicle with the same problem. I love the ride, the look and some of the bells and whistles on the JGC, but I wish I had stayed with the 4Runner. This is the biggest purchase mistake of my life.

Best SUV!
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is gorgeous (esp in black)! Sleek, spacious, comfortable and a great ride. Perfect for traveling, commuting, shopping and transporting others. Great interior and standard dual-zone automatic climate control, key-less entry with push-button start and Bluetooth, an SD card slot and a 5-inch touch-screen display. I think it's one of the best vehicles Jeep has ever made.

Made the Swirtch
I have been a loyal BMW owner for the past 10 years but made the switch to the Jeep Grand Cherokee recently. I love the engineering, comfort and styling of the car plus all of the standard features and amenities for the price. If I had one complaint I would say there needs to be more attention paid to the fit and finish details and better service and facility upgrades at the dealerships. When you pay over $50,000 for a vehicle you have certain expectations and Chrysler/Jeep isn't quite there yet.

Love my new Jeep!
I went with a Jeep for towing behind our motorcoach...and am so glad I did! I've owned several luxury suv's (Lexus, Infiniti, Enclave.Sequoia) and I really think my Limited surpasses all! I love the technology. I loaded mine with all of the amenities found in the Overland except the off road height feature. The gas mileage beats any other SUV I've owned and this vehicle is amazing in the snow. I can't wait to try it in the sand!

Grand Cherokee SRT
This is a beast! I love this rig! It has great performance and utility in one package. If you want tons of features with "go-fast" capability, this is your ride. This really does compare well with expensive "performance SUVs" from Europe. While the SRT version has an "ECO" setting for improved mileage, I clearly didn't buy this for the gas mileage. This is one of the best made vehicles in America. The doors make that nice, solid clunk sound when you close them. Solid. My only hangup is the shifter, though I suppose it takes some getting used to in order to become comfortable with the way it positions itself on a selected gear. The UConnect in the 2014 is far superior to what I saw in the 2013 GC. Even the steering wheel is better. The 6.4 liter Hemi is outstanding. Improved handling characteristics allow you to get the most of the extra power. Don't cry about the mileage. You'll want to buy some snow tires. The 3 season tires are "no bueno" for winter driving. I bought this with 2400 miles on it. I don't know why someone would turn this in so early, but it was to my benefit. Black on black is a great combo. It looks great and is a ton of fun.

Do not buy
I own a 2011 JGC (still) and considered buying a 2014 (prior to its release). Now I would NEVERR buy the 2014 after driving: The Seats are harder (odd), constant trans problems (not a ZF trans but a modified version of the ZF 8 speed), and electrical problems. I like the fog light update though.. Why do the negative posts keep disappearing(?) I posted because my friends never made it up.. he owns a 14 which lives mainly at the dealership between "updates"..

Best JGC ever owned
I have owned 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees prior to purchasing My 2014 JGC Limited and this Jeep is the best hands down. The ride is excellent, gas mileage is better than expected with the 3.6l V6 and it has plenty of power. The Laredo is equiped better than most vehicles in its price range but once you step up to the Limited you have every option imaginable available. If you are in the Market for a Mid size SUV you have to give this vehicle a test drive. You will not be dissapointed!
