Looks good on other drivers
I was so excited to drive a Jeep Wrangler on a ten day vacation in Hawaii. Plan was to take it to the trails to hike and run and test it through windy backroads. Instead, I spent ten days using the full range of my cursing vocabulary as I tried to make sense of this brick on wheels. No doubt it’s cool. Getting in the fit is practically comfy, seemingly about to be an honest driving experience. It’s not. Hitting the break pedal takes a lot of sweat work. Almost 50 lbs of force to stop this Kleenex box on wheels. Encounter a traffic jam and driving this thing turns into a bad 80s workout routine for your right leg. But other features inside are also worth noting. Like the absurdly dinky turn signal, almost two inches shorter than the steering wheel. This is offset by the small backup camera screen that sometimes turns on (mostly off) while driving and doesn’t come with a built in map for adventures. Who would need that? Additional features include manual side mirrors and window handles, which when first driving requires having a passenger scream beside you while you yell at them how badly they’ve adjusted everything. The good news is that it’s easy to set the mirrors to view the road while driving and not see any traffic beside you. Thankfully, given the size of this vehicle, cars tends to give you right of way. A nice additional feature in the same way you have to use both the mechanical key and fob separately. Big and clunky is better. Driving the Jeep is like a sitting in a four foot tall go kart. Road pot holes send shocks through the frame that can be felt in the overly wiggly steering wheel. Driving over pebbles and other slight inclines typically result in annoyed passengers and rear cargo items traversing all four corners. The 4x4 feels secure at high speeds in wet weather and different inclines and declines. It does do the job of sticking to the road while all the things inside it fly around. Outside of the car, most doors have manual locks that could technically be defeated with an easy to obtain screwdriver. Front passenger door unlocks counter clockwise while the rear trunk unlocks clockwise. Each door is a surprise. Unlocking the rear passenger doors on the base model requires reaching over the front seats and fiddling with the manual lock to open. Easy only in bright daylight. Fuel economy is surprisingly good. And there’s no gas tank cover and latch to find and open when filling up. Just an exposed cap. Practical. Visually, the Jeep Wrangler is plain cool. But if your looking for a vehicle to get to the trails, take on basic back roads, or drive over some pile of rocks, there are far more practical options that won’t leave you exhausted and confused while driving it.

I’ve owned it for only 3 days, but have no compla!
Love the USB’s ports, smoothe ride, roomier then other vehicles we considered. It looks sporty and classy! We’ve gotten compliments from strangers about its looks and color, sting-gray!

A blast to drive, more accessories available. The Glock pistol of off road capable vehicles. After market upgrades are awesome. Can’t wait to go wheeling in it this summer.

New Wrangler Owner
The new redesign of the Wrangler JL is a definite improvement over the previous JK. We test drove a JKU and thought it was a decent ride (keeping in mind this is a Wrangler). After driving the JLU we could definitely feel the difference; the JL drives and feels like the usual SUV on road, but with the bonus of all the off road capabilities. If there is a complaint, it would be lack of power seats on the model we purchased. (For $44K you'll get a lot of options, but no power seats?) The passenger leg room is a little bit small but it wasn't enough of an issue to keep me from buying. Test drive it... I bet you'll love it.

The Next Generation of Jeep Wrangler
The new JLU is more refined and a better style Jeep. The JLU has better steering, handling and is quieter than my JKU was. Both were soft top automatic sports that I’m comparing to. The JLU has better interior styling and the base stereo is even better. Totally love my JKU.
