2011 Sorento Review

Purchased primarily for the wife but I drive it some. I gave it 5 stars for reliability but it is really too soon to tell. If it is as good as the '04 Sorento that we traded in, I will be very pleased. We bought the EX (mid range) model with the convenience package. Only complaint is that the EX is only available with the 4 cylinder. I would have gladly paid a bit extra for the 6 cylinder but you end up paying thousands more for other things that I wasn't willing to pay for. The EX with convenience package has all options that we cared about. The 4 cylinder is a bit weak but sufficient for our needs. The standard features plus the convenience package makes this a very well equipped vehicle for the money. Heated seats, satellite radio, bluetooth, steering wheel controls, fog lamps, backup camera are just a few of them. Styling is very nice. Not the level of an Infiniti FX35 (my favorite) but for at least $35,000.00 less, I can live with it. :)

First Kia

We owned two Honda's (this was to replace a civic 11yrs old and 127000 miles). Test drove the Sorento at the Chicago auto show after having seen it up on the floor. we liked the car so much we went to a local dealer and drove the car again after a fresh snow.. so far owned it for about a month and have about 1300 miles and we are averaging about 22MPG. Our driving is a mostly mixed between city and highway on the way to work. so far so good.

The Power to Surprise Indeed!

I have had my Sorento EX V6 AWD for over a month and still cant believe I bought a KIA. I was a life long Toyota owner. With a second child coming my Tundra was not going to get the job done. I looked at the RAV4 but found it to be too bland. I wanted something with style. I went to go look at the Borrego and noticed the Sorento. I was so impressed. The features were so extensive I stopped the salesman and simply took his word for it. He threw me the keys and I took it on a two hour test drive to include a drive-thru and my own garage. I bought it as soon as I returned! I-pod intergration, bluetooth, push button start, more powerful than my Tundra V8! And the price! Good grief. KIA, the power to surprise is more than a slogan. Great vehicle and built in USA.

How Do You Like ME Now?? Very nice, thanks!!

We tried them all in this size category and the 2011 Sorento came in the winner. We bought the 4 cyl AWD LX with the third seat option and Convenience Package--heated seats, roof rack bars, backup camera and alarm. Having driven both FWD and AWD variations I'll admit that the FWD rides more softly, but the AWD is wonderful on slippery roads, and we've had a few days like that here in Maine since we got the Sorento. This is a solid, smooth automobile which is a joy to drive. Starts and stops smooth and straight with no surprises. Good visibility to sides and rear. Plenty of power even with 4 passengers onboard. The 6 speed automatic is smooth and shifts with no lurch or noise. Averaged 20 mpg for the first 820 miles--all urban or suburban stop and go-- but no trips or constant speed driving yet. Would certainly recommend the 2011 Kia Sorento to anyone.

Sorento

I love my new Sorento. It has a nice ride and a smaller turning radius. All the controls are easy to use and within hands reach. The 4cyl has some nice pick up and it tells you when you are in eco mode so it will help you save on gas. I would suggest getting a model with just the 2nd row seating. I sat in the third row of a model I was test driving and it felt small. I went with just the second row and my 14 year old son has plenty of leg room.

Impressed

After some research, we purchased a Pearl White LX with the 4 cylinder engine. Smoother than the Mazda V6 we had and with more power. Detail and workmanship seem very good. With no third row seat there is plenty of space, we didn't want to give up cargo room. Very little road noise and it handles well. Ride is a little soft and bouncy compared to the van. With value and great looks, we felt like we bought an excellent vehicle.

Pleasantly surprised

Purchased the Ex front wheel drive with leather. Love the smooth ride and low road noise!!!!! Price was great. Only thing I wish it had is a power hatch. Other than that great SUV for the $$$$.
