nice car

I drive mostly back and forth to work and this car is easy to drive and good on gas while still providing a nice luxury feel.

Excellent

I drove this car home from Florida to Maryland over 3 days (stopped over in Raleigh, NC). Fuel mileage was 34.5 for the whole trip, that included going about town in Raleigh for a good day. I love this car.

Fun, Zippy Car

The car is fun to drive and is very quick. Very easy to get in and out of parking spaces. I think it is a great value for the price.

Great Entry Lux Sport Sedan!

Great Lexus quality in a sports sedan. Lexus has found a great balance between traditional Lexus qualities (reliability, quiet ride, value for the money) and performance handling.

Didn't care for IS 250

Sounds cheap. Very harsh ride, tires noisy. With cruise on, and going up a long hill, car will always down shift once, sometimes twice, go roaring back to set speed, then slow down and start down shifting again. Will repeat until top of hill is reached. The wiper and cruise controls are the same for as a "regular" Toyota (car or truck). I think the Lexus is an over priced Toyota. Spend a little more (or maybe the same $$$)& get a Mercedes!

Exceeds My Expectations

I bought my IS250 in February 2008. All I can say is that the car has exceeded my expectations! The car is smooth, quick, and handles like a dream. Even though it comes with low profile tires, the ride is super smooth. It is quiet at high speeds and cruises down the interstate with seemingly no effort. I had forgotten how much fun rear wheel drive is- there is a difference. The car looks fast sitting still yet also looks classy. I routinely average between 24 and 25 mph around town and 30 on the highway. I would recommend that you buy tire and wheel coverage. The tires are quite expensive and I did have to replace one due to road damage. I highly recommend the Lexus IS 250.

This car is simply the best!

My wife and I were looking at the Volvo S60 and Lexus ES350 but after sitting in an IS250 at the Chicago Auto Show, we knew this was the car for us. The exterior has the look of an expensive sports sedan and the interior is simply a work of art. The leather is super soft, the wood is warm looking and the chrome and brushed stainless trim add a rich look. We drove an ES350 and IS250 back to back and there is no comparison. With supportive seats and an intimate cockpit, you feel like you wear this car. All controls are right where you can reach them including the paddle shifters for the 6 speed automatic transmission. The IS handles like it's on rails with tight steering and very firm brakes. At first we didn't want the Navigation Package but you can't get the Memory System for power seats/mirrors/tilt-telescopic steering wheel without it so we stepped up. It was a smart move as the Nav system is very easy to use and the package also includes some slick things like adaptive HID headlights that move when you turn and illuminated door sills. The car is a pleasure to drive, smooth, quiet, great power and handling. Gas mileage has also been very good, typically in the low 20's around town but it does require premium fuel. The only draw back is a back seat that is a little tight for adults. Kids won't complain but forget about putting three people back there. This is our first Lexus but it will not be our last. Highly recommended.

more fun than the GS

I had a gs350 got hit 2 times and was finally destroyed by a drunk driver. replaced it with this out of discouragement and disgust. was pleasantly surprised that this IS was a fun car more fun than the bigger faster one. the gs was so isolated that it was only good on the highway at very high speeds. too big feeling around town. the gs got 19 around town the new IS manages almost 24!!! this car is great. don't miss the extra power at all as I seem to have gotten a very zippy example. most fun car in their lineup. bought for their service and reliability.

I'M TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR

This is the first car I've ever bought and it has definitely exceeded my expectations. My husband talked me into buying this car and I do not regret it at all. I think it is the best value for the money. It is a very smooth drive, manageable, extremely comfortable interior and a rocking exterior. Anywhere I go in my new Lex people stare. I don't think of driving or buying anything else. It is also very fuel efficient, comparable to any economical compact vehicle.

Best out there

The car is simply outstanding. Fuel economy is great and the intreior is plush. You get a lot of fetures for the price. Alot is stadard on the car unlike th e bare bones 3 series. Previusly drove a c-class and this car is as good if not better. My car turns heads whereever i go. Service from the dealer is excellent. I will surely buy another lexus.
