This SUV glides along the road

This car has exceeded my expectations. The interior is very attractive and comfortable- heated seats are life changing. Driving in New England, you get used to potholes and snow heaves everywhere on the road, but while driving my CX-5, they are hardly noticeable- it drives so nicely. I am also so happy to have a vehicle with a backup camera, USB phone charging and sirius XM. Would definitely recommend!

True about owning CX-5

Hello, I am an owner of Mazda CX5, and had early experience with other brands, so have something to compare. So: - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. Cylinder deactivation technology doesn't creates enough oil pressure, or algorithm of light is wrong. SOLVED with dealer reprogramming. -MAZDA ADAPTIVE RADAR is working strange. BE CAREFUL- when you following a car, and that car suddenly passes standing car, RADAR doesn't detect standing obstacle, engages warning, but doesn't brake. You can smash into standing obstacle. RADAR reaction time is very long and thac can be lethal. NOT SOLVED -MAZDA ADAPTIVE RADAR doesn't see a car manoeuvring from side lane to your lane, reaction is long. -PARK DISTANCE CONTROL (PDC) switch located low on right side (LHD) and can be hit by accident with a knee. And there is no warning on display, that PDC disengaged. Next time vehicle is started PDC is not engaged automatically. No warning appears. NOT SOLVED -when PDC is active, sound system keeps playing on selected sound level. No sound lowering or adjustment possible. NOT SOLVED -when rear PDC is working and you have whole trunk full of stuff, you are not able to hear PDC warning sounds, because PDC warning chime plays not thru stereo system, but thru separate loudspeaker. Volume cannot be adjusted. NOT SOLVED -opening trunk at dawn may be dangerous, as rear parking light doesn't comes on. NOT SOLVED -rear camera always get dirty. It was possible to make pop up camera from rear mazda sign (learn from VW or MB) -Mazda declares better sound insulation, but laminated insulating glass is used only on front side glasses. -rear seat cannot be adjusted horizontally, only small vertical adjustment is possible. Trunk is long, so it should be an opportunity to slide side back and forward, but it isn't. -heated wheel heats only 10-8 and 2-4 (zones on clock). -heated seats can't be programmed to turn on automatically on low outside temperature. -armrest is too short, when driving long distances. -full consumption indication made by designer without an engineer intervention, no scales, numbers normal statistics. -accent glowing sill is working on battery. ON SMALL BATTERY. ON HIS OWN CLOCK BATTERY. I cannot understand that. Seriously. -even if you have two keys, and drivers seat has memory, your key, mirrors and seat settings cannot be memorised to separate keys. Can be solved with programming but it's too hard to MAZDA. And its not family car, where husband and wife share a car. -trunk opens very low , as car it self is high. I'm 1.9m height and I alway hit my head into trunk lid. -trunk lid close button is located on the right (the car is JAPAN made), very uncomfortable to close in a garage. -trunk lid doesn't have feet easy open. MY 2013 Ford Escape has it... -no remote start -no self parallel parking -no memory for autohold -if you open door on D mode, car won't engage auto hold, it drives. - as car is JAPAN made, all steering wheal controls a optimised for RHD: for LHD it should be mirrored steering wheel controls. -no corner lights for fog lights, on low speeds. -head up display for taller people appears not horizontally, athwart. -seat lumber support is poor -Lane keeping aid works fine, but for very short time (or correct say amount of not steering) and disengages. No braking or reactivation. IT IS my personal opinion and experience. MAZDA, you can make this car perfect but your chief engineer should have some help, with car customisation and personalisation. Then everyone would love it, not just drive it.

So much quality for such a great price

My only regret is they released a turbo version of my car in the next model year although I have yet to feel mine lacks acceleration. Just wow. I’m 10,000 miles in and I like it more than when i pulled off the lot with it. Very sure footed. There has been -30 temps and ice storms in my area recently, it performed very well. They don’t force you into their top trim to get the stuff I wanted (.rims, premium sound, moonroof) like everyone else does. Handles like an extension of yourself. What more can I say?

Best SUV Value

I LOVE me Mazda CX5! The first SUV I have owned and the interior is comfortable, roomy, classy since I bought the Grand Touring. Great mileage with and average 24.5. So far it has performed well and the safety features make all the difference for me since I'm on the road alot for my job. I've added a hitch, roof rack and rails to maximum how I can use this SUV. I couldn't have purchased a better SUV for my first SUV, I just LOVE it.

Mazda conceals manufacturer defects safety issues

Concealed engine and transmission problems on brand new Cx 5 Mazda lie and have not repaired. Safety issues and not fuel efficient. Bad deal Mazda’s they have transmissions fail a lot on new cars. I have had several issues with my new 2018 Cx 5. Excessive gas getting into my oil , contamination of the oil, gas washes the oil out of where it needs to be in the engine. Oil leaking from the rear main seal between engine and transmission. Something causing resistance while driving down the street or freeway causes me to get between 15-17 miles per gallon. Mazda is not honoring their new car warranty. These are manufacturing defects take this car back and give me my money back

My dream car

I had been wanting this car since I was about 16 years old and finally had the chance to get it. BEST PURCHASE. This car is so great, super reliable, great gas mileage. I pump about $40 every week and a half and drive it about 200 miles per week. It is super stylish, great size, I am so in love with this car. It is just amazing. I LOOOVE MY CAR 💙
