Not a bad car
Had the Mazda3 for 3.5 years. Fun car to drive, I really get the "Zoom-Zoom" feeling. I average 27mpg overall (mostly highway miles). It is a comfortable car up front, in the back, not so much. The engine had to be replaced at 86xxx, the clutch needed to be replaced at the same time, shocks went after 50k. The brakes had to be replaced at 40 and 80k. Overal reliability not great. Maybe I had a bad car or enjoyed the "zoom-zoom" too much.

2007 Mazda3
I LOVE my new Mazda3. I bought it about 4 months ago. It is so much fun to drive, has alot more power than I expected, and I have gotten so many compliments on how sporty it looks. Highly recommend these cars!

1st Time Mazda Owner
Well I finally broke down and did it...I purchased a 4 cylinder, boring, gas saving little car. At least that is wat my first impression was until I opened my eyes, the door and the throttle. My 2007 Mazda3 Hatchback is a blast and the gas mileage is wonderful. I have been driving Fulll Sized Trucks or Mid-Sized SUV's for the last 5 years and I finally couldnt afford it anymore. I get sharp styling, plenty of interior room and a sharp litle auto-stick feature, and I cannot complain about getting about 25+ in the gas dept. Between the Lease-pament,Insurance and the HORRIBLE GAS mileage I realized that it was time to get smart about getting economical. I mean Yes I sure do miss my Dodge RAM-1500 but until they can make a pickup that get above 14 mpg,I am afreaid that I have to pass. Please understand that I am not endorsing purchasing a foreign vehicle in point of fact my Mazda was built in 07 when Ford owned them. PLease buy American if you can, however if you are looking for a fun reliable and all around great car try out the Mazda 3,you might be surprised how much fun can be put in such a compact sharp looking package.

simply the best car I have ever owned.
Hands down this is the best and most fun car I have ever owned. I bought my 2007 Mazda3 S Touring about 3 years ago and it still feels and drives like a brand new car. The motor is strong and packs a huge punch when you hit the gas. This car can take charge of the road like its tossing around a rag doll. The stock tires aren't the best so I decided to buy new Toyo Proxes4 and the car will take 90 degree turns at 50mph or more! The interior is very nice and smooth and is very comfortable. For the amount you pay for the car its like getting a diamond in the rough, you get a LOT of bang for your buck!! After buying this car I will probably a Mazda fan for life. I will probably keep this car for a long time but I think my next car will be the Mazda Speed3.

Disappointed
Car was purchased brand new. It is stylish and handles nicely but seems to be a much poorer quality vehicle than I expected. My biggest issue is with the clutch. At 3years and 46000mi.it started to feel a little sloppy and by 58,000 it was slipping. As a middle aged Mom who has driven manual transmissions for 30 years, I was sure it must be defective. But Mazda said it was a "wear and tear" issue! Only a very poor quality clutch could have wear and tear at that mileage with the kind of driving I do.(no riding the clutch, racing, etc.) This really makes me doubt the car's overall quality. Could not recommend this car. Also found Mazda Customer Service to be very unhelpful. Very disappointing indeed!

best Bang for the buck!
well put together : solid, quiet, yet light and responsive; handles better than anything in its class . Reliable..excellent and inexpensive dealer service. Gas mileage is approx 28 mpg , could do better, but it handles so well.....simply cannot drive slowly. Do not like the red dash lights at night...I am 64 years old, and the red is difficult to decipher....my last green- on- white dials were excellent.

Most fun in this class
I purchased a 2007 Mazda 3 (Grand Touring) about 2 months ago. The car had 29k miles at the time of purchase. Overall, the car is in great shape, minus a few careless mistakes by the previous owner. This car is very good looking as well as quick and fun to drive. The motor truly feels more powerful than its 156 hp rating, especially above 3500 RPM. Low end torque could be a little better, but that's nitpicking. Handling is superb. A quick trip through some winding back roads proved that this car was built with the budget enthusiast in mind. The interior is well laid out and I like the grand touring options (leather, Bose stereo, sunroof). The bizarre thing is that I have power everything, except seats. The seats still use the old fashioned bar to slide back and forth. I have encountered no reliability issues thus far. All electronics work perfectly. Engine and manual transmission are smooth. So far, I love this car and would recommend the Mazda 3 over a civic or the always-boring corolla any day.

LoveMy3
This has been the best car I have owned period. It is comfortable, roomy, practical, can use it for just about anything whether it be road trip, snowboarding, hauling wood, furniture, dogs. It is the only car out of all my friends that we fit 5 people comfortably. It rides great and is even fun to drive around the curves. The triptronics option is great for fun driving and especially in snow. Weight distribution makes up for not being all wheel drive. Overall great car!!!
