Great little commuter

i bought this car because i have a 65 mile round trip commute and wanted to have fun while driving to work. This car consistently gives me over 30 mpg and is like a race car. very reliable, sporty fun and utilitarian - i have the hatch back with the 2.5L. this one is quieter than the earlier model but still has some road noise. it isnt as ecomonical as a civic or corolla but who cars this car is about fun and it delivers i get about 350-400 miles per tank

F U N !

This car is called the UNcorolla for good reason. It's a blast to drive. The combination of a tight suspension and very responsive steering, when paired with a peppy little 4 cylinder (and I only got the base engine) ensures a great time on the road if you have a heavy foot. Styling is distinctive and sporty, matching the performance. Downsides are lack of rear legroom and... well that's about it. To me, however, the rear seating is an afterthought. This car isn't about family hauling, it's about fun.

Not Happy

I purchased my 2010 Mazda3 new in August. It is a nice looking vehicle. I have had several comments to me that it looks like a LexusIS on the exterior. It also has a lot of zip. When they say "zoom zoom" they mean it. It has run great. But that is where I stop with the praise. I purchased the base model. It does NOT come standard with keyless entry or cruise. The seats are extremely uncomfortable if driving any distance. There is no leg room in rear seats. My six year old niece does not even have room for her legs in the back seat. We have to put the front seats forward. So this leaves us pushed against the dashboard. Even with the driver's seat all the back, my legs are pushed up against the steering column. I am looking to trade this off as quickly as possible.

most refined small car i've ever driven

the mazda 3 has me in a state of bittersweetness. i love how it drives, the quietness inside, the ergonomics, the mileage, everything except.....the looks. the front end is sporty and modern looking and i think the rear is good looking. i just can't seem to fall in love with the rest of it's general shape. it's like the kind of car you wouldn't look back at after parking. it's not butt ugly but why couldn't it be more pretty like the new sonata or better yet...make it a coupe with beautiful flowing lines like the eclipse or even a cobalt.

owned for almost a year

The ONLY real gripe i have with this car, is the paint job. scratches are made very easily. Best advice is to seal the paint up with wax n polish it. Since then i have had ZERO scratches. I wanted a golf but for the bang for the dollar i was able to get the 3 for about 9,000 cheaper. I have the bose/moonroof package with remote start. Bluetooth was standard. The Golf couldnt even compare in HP, interior room, options and price point. The 2.5 is a very very peppy quick accelerating engine. Gas milage however is a tad lower then estimated in city however HWY is on par. I average 22.5 mpg (average speed 22mph) around town and 31mpg (average speed 60) on the HWY This is on the 5speed auto. The ride WILL BE firmer then expected... but haven driven cars in Europe it doesnt bother me at all. In fact, it improves the handling of the car... you will get use to it. Cargo room is A+ for a compact 5dr. I was able to get a 60inch long object in the back with the rear seats folded down, and no change to the front seats. The boot is very wide mouthed so it makes it easy to haul things around. Overall, this is a very great car. I got it with 4 miles on it last march and have 8,000 miles on it now. Its a blast to drive!

Nice car for my daughter

Nice Looking sporty car for my daughter. 6 air bags. Great fuel economy. Cons, the car is four doors with out power locks, and could use cruise control. The car does have power mirrors and windows ? For the price I recived a great car and she is happy.

A very peppy car with decent gas mileage

I previously owned a Toyota Corolla, and it was a very good car. Great gas mileage, very dependable. But this time, I wanted all that, but something a little funner to drive. It accelerates quite nicely, handles very well. Gas mileage is decent, I typically get around 27 MPG. It is a little smaller in the back seat compared to the corolla, but that is about the only drawback for me.

Nice little car.

My Mazda3 is an "i" model in "Touring" trim with a manual transmission. That puts it nearer the low end of the price range you can spend on this car. The car it replaced was a 2000 Miata I bought new and drove for ten wonderful years. I was prepared for a let-down in the fun-to-drive department, but I am pleased to say I sacrificed little in sportiness and gained a great deal in space and comfort. The 3 is zippy and nimble and a lot of fun to drive. The interior is nicely done feels like a more expensive car. Fuel economy has been good, and while I haven't had it long enough (4 months) to really comment on its reliability, I can say it hasn't given me a moment's trouble or concern so far, and it was delivered completely free of any defects, rattles, or loose bits anywhere. Much as I loved my Miata, the Mazda3 is just as impressive in its own right. All in all, I'm very pleased with mine, and am looking forward to keeping it a long time.

Great, but needs some polish

I purchased a 2010 3 sport model automatic with the bose and moonroof package. Number one great car, but I have to pick it apart a bit, especially since it was over 20k. Awsome reliability, OEM Yokahama's hit 21k miles and sound like im driving concrete on concrete. Car is very loud at speed due to engine, road and wind noise, so loud it's hard to use bluetooth. I don't suggest the Bose radio, its horrible sound quality through the radio and CD's is inexcusable! MP3's sound great, but thats about it. very poor back seat room. Very comfortable front seats-all day comfort, great style and road presence, highly suggest upgrading to the 2.5L for nice driving performance, although first gear is a dog. The vehicle overall is perfect for female drivers looking for sporty but dont understand it, nice car would consider buying again, but higher models not worth th money, stick to base trim for an good quality fuel saver.

Mazda 3

i'm pretty much satisfied with the car the only thing that i dislike is the performance! 105 hp in a 1200Kg car has the same performance as my other car (80hp in a 900Kg). Just disapointing. The rest of the atributes are just great. :)
