Outstanding value & performance
Excellent all-round performance & handling - superior responses compared to GTI. Delighted with purchase - only possible criticizm is yokohama all-weather tires feel harsh on certain surfaces. Would suggest Michelin pilots as replacement for smoother ride. Build quality, fit & finish, fuel economy all excellent. This car is a jewel!

Good style and value for the money
The car looks nice in white with all the black trim and it looks even better since I've added aftermarket 18" rims which really give it a more sleek and racy look. The soft touch finishes inside give it a more upscale look and feel but the latch on the console has broken off after about a month and the fake silver aluminum look trim on the dashboard/console scratch very easilly. I take very good car of my vehicles and the scratches on this trim are already bothering me. I'd prefer more if it were hard black plastic. I just got back from a 1,000 mile roadtrip and it was very comfortable. I use this car for commuting so I needed an inexpensive vehicle that I wouldn't be to upside down in after three years when I typically trade, plus it gets pretty good gas mileage and uses regular unleaded instead of premium unleaded. Mazda did a good job offering style and value for the money.

Best car in its class
This is a great vehicle to own, the only problem I have with the car is that the back seat has very little leg room so it is uncomfortable for tall passengers to sit.

I Love to Drive Now!
I used to have a small SUV, and driving around was boring. I never looked forward to it. Now, I just love driving my 6-speed manual Mazda3 Hatchback, even to and from work, and especially on curvy, hilly roads! I think it handles even better than my husband's BMW. I drive about 50% city and 50% highway. My overall gas mileage is about 25 mpg. Some other models in this class get way better mileage, but they don't have the performance you get with 167 HP! To ease my guilty green conscious, I have been more diligent about recycling.... I have the Grand Touring trim level, and I wish the leather seats were better quality. The leather feels hard, not supple. I also wish the sound system had a mute button. Otherwise, the interior layout is well-designed and ergonomic. I debated between the Sport model and the Grand Touring model, and I am so glad I choose the Grand Touring. The automatic windshield wiper and the seat memory features are incredibly convenient, and the Xenon headlights really make a difference on very dark or curvy roads; the lights turn in the direction that you are turning, offering more illumination in the direction you are going. I worried about downsizing from an SUV to a hatchback, but because the seats fold down very easily, I've found it to be amazingly versatile at carrying around large loads. Overall, I just LOVE this car and am so happy I bought it!

Really special small package
We really only needed a second car that was practically packaged, economical, and loaded with those extras that have spoiled us in recent years. (Our other car is a 2009 Acura TSX Tech). This Mazda 3 GT HB is way too much fun. Great handling, very comfortable ride, and a nice feature set. Acceleration is surprising for an unboosted 2.5 4cyl. The tan leather, power seating, and more than adequate power are exactly what we wanted. The controls are great. We passed on the cumbersome NAV and the upgraded stereo. The stock setup is great. Adding our iPOD using AUX and aftermarket iPOD management works perfectly. Our aftermarket NAV is probably more useful. Gas mileage, using actual measurements and calculations, is yielding only 24-25 mpg with only 2000 miles on the car. It's still new and I need to talk with the dealer, but that's disappointing. I would have gotten the SPEED if I thought this was the expected mileage for the car. The car is so well put together I doubt we'll be seeing much of the dealership otherwise.

Lots of flash for not so much cash.
I've owned 3 Hondas, a Subaru, and a Volvo, and none of them really can compare to the Mazda3 wagon that I just purchased. I've had it for almost 3 weeks now, and you can't beat the peppiness of the engine combined with the fuel economy and the overall sporty feel of the vehicle at this price point, and all this with an automatic transmission. Having had a larger wagon and a small SUV, I did have to compromise on cargo space, but for what I spent at the Sport trim level, I got a vehicle with an interior that resembles a VW and an exterior that resembles a Lexus. Bluetooth integration of my phone with the car was effortless, and the trip computer is easy to understand (although the vehicle does come with a very extensive manual). The Bose stereo package is also definitely worth getting, as it's bundled with a moonroof and 6-CD changer. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a small wagon with a tight suspension that's not too stiff to be comfortable on the highway. Definitely check out the Mazda3 if you think the Mazda2 and Ford Fiesta are too small. The only drawback I'd say is that the red colors are difficult to keep clean, but you'll have that happen on any car with that color.

Unmatched In It's Class !!
This is my second Mazda3 I traded in my 2008 Mazda3 S-Grand Touring Bose/Roof-pax for the Identical trim for 2010. I was a bit shaky at 1st because there were few reviews that were listed from owners and reliabily is anybodys guess on a new model year car. I guess with Mazda I was pretty certain I was on safe ground all the way around. It turns out I was spot on and got MUCH MUCH more that I ever would have expected . I can only say that either by hook or crook Mazda has managed to build a vehicle that goes far beyond "best in its class" and lands smack dab in the land of "ALL TIME GREATEST CARS EVER MADE" class. I mean this is not some biased report of an owner who's got a bad case of Idealisim thats growing out of control. I seriously went through every single possible reason to have buyers remorse that I could have conjured up and then made things up that didnt exist and still couldnt find anything that fell even remotley short of my minimum expectations. This car initally was flogged mainly by current Mazda3 owners only for one reason---It looked different . Mazda owners and car enthuiasists alike get attached to our cars and thier looks and when the company comes along and makes seemingly radical changes we have a fit as if they did it to us just to make us mad ! Well this car now looks better to me than my 08 and I loved that cars looks with the factory front spoiler and overstated understatment of asthetic perfection. Possibly as I drove my new 2010 more and more and began to realize I was driving was is destined to be a legendary car and not just for one or two reasons , but for almost every reason you can come up with!! Before I get specific I just want to make some parallels and this is in the class of ground breaking vehicles such as have never been dupilctaed since and in thier year of production they were beyond belief, The BMW-2002 1969 , The Volkswagen Golf-GTI 78-? year might be off, Subaru WRX-2002, Mazda-Miata, 1st year, Honda-Civic, I could list more but you get the general Idea . This car has a transmission that shifts better or equivilant to the german PDK or double-clutch and has yet after 8K miles to miss cue any up or downshift at any speed or condition-silk amazing, Counterbalanced inline 2.5 liter 4 cyl. which you might say well its only 167 hp and 168 lb-ft torque and counterbalancing adds weight and if done wrong reduces oil capacity and lubrication-not here and it certainly meets the power to weight ratio so spot on I dont even consider what more would be like because it just dosent need it , hey if you want to race fine get the speed but this is perfect. Then suspension and handling are beyond BMW and has you feeling so in control at all times its actually dangerous ! I am 6 ft tall and fit as if they built this car for me my arms , legs fit as if tailored for me and I need to be reminded that its a front wheel drive ---I wont go on because the only thing you could possibly find fault with is an accessory that the car either has you dont like or dosent have that you do ? So I rest at a place where if you are lucky enough to be in the place where you need a new car and are smart enough to actually test-drive differnt vehicles and buy this car -you will soon realize that you are a part of serious automotive history.

The Marriage of Sportiness and Practicality
I test drove many cars in the compact class but I decided on the Mazda3 once I sat in it. The overall design and quality of the interior places it above most of its competition. There are very few reminders that this is an economy car. It is very clear that Mazda put effort into the locations of the controls and displays. Everything is within notably short reach and the high mounted displays prevent a driver from having to turn their head to see climate or audio information. The front cup holders are deep and will hold a variety of beverage sizes in place. Unfortunately, they are the only good place to put an MP3 player or cell phone unless you want to stow them in the center console or the surprisingly large glove compartment. Rain-sensing wipers and adaptive xenon lights create the illusion that this is a luxury car. The leather quality is typical for this class (not very smooth) and the power seat?s memory feature comes in handy. However, it would be nice if the settings for the rear-view mirrors were also stored. One nice touch is that the car will stream music from a Bluetooth cell phone and even give you wireless control. Many other systems only allow you to place or receive calls. The rear seat is adequate if needed but large seats with thick cushions make them seem smaller. The trunk of the sedan is an average size with a very usable shape. The only issue is that the opening is small due to the short deck lid. My only significant complaint is that road noise can become annoying.

my 2010m3
I have had this car for a year and I love it. It is fun and sporty and I love having the shift-tronic. I can drive stick when ever I want and it is so simple. I also had a 2007 mazda 3 and I loved it, but really wanted the new one.

most fun to drive
I am so happy with my Mazda3. It offers all the features you could ask for. The seats are comfortable! The styling is unique. The handling is above and beyond! The only thing I would change is the stereo system!
