Loving my new Mitsubishi!
I have had my 2013 Outlander Sport for less than a month. I've already put over 1000 miles on it, and loved every minute on the road! :) I haven't learned the bluetooth phone system yet (hoping it will get easier), and I'm missing my arm rest between the seats, but otherwise - it's been a blast! I spent at least a month looking over car reviews, comparing cars (re: prices, options) and think I got a fantastic deal! I only hope I feel the same after I've owned it for a few years! (Last vehicle was a CRV that lasted 13 years, 170k miles.)

The Longer I Have This Car The More I Smile
I've had the SE version of this SUV for several months now and I just seem to keep liking it more and more. I enjoy the gas mileage - about 30 mpg at the pump in 80% highway/ 20% city. I enjoy the handling to maneuver through traffic. I enjoy the sharp looks and the seating comfort. I enjoy all of the features like the voice controlled FUSE and Bluetooth system, the rain sensing wipers, high intensity headlights, 6 speaker satellite radio and keyless start/stop system. I drove through a snow storm 3 days after I bought this car and had someone run through a stoplight in front of me. I hit the brakes and could feel the car's safety systems stop my car quickly and keep it straight. I am thoroughly impressed with the tires too. I fully expected that I would have to replace the OEM Toyo A24s with other tires, but they give good traction through rain and snow and are quiet with the roadway (note that my car is 2WD and I have never had a single issue with traction or staying true to the road). They are on par with the Michelin LTX M/S tires on my wife's SUV. So many features on this car that cost thousands more from other automakers. A great price on this SUV along with the long warranty and high reliability marks from a leading consumer magazine helped convince me to buy this, but the more I have it, the longer I thoroughly enjoy driving it. I am definitely a Mitsubishi fan now!

New model
My last car was a Toyota Rava 4, before that I always had Chevies. The car is still very new, but since I bought I have driven it in 2 snowstorms. I really like the 4 wheel drive, my Toyota did not have that and with this winter, even though it is April, the 4 wheel has come in handy. After I had owned the car for a week, I was rear ended at a stop light, the other vehicle was only going a couple of miles per hour, their was no damage to my bumper, it absorbed the shock and is no worse for the blow. The car seats 5, has enough storage in the back for my tennis equipment. I have been very happy with it.

Fun To Drive
I bought this SUV a few months ago, partly because of the great price from the dealer, but it is really fun and I wouldn't trade it out now. It has a good suspension that can absorb bumps and take turns well - I've taken highway exit ramps at 60 mph with no problem. The seats are comfortable and the stereo is great. MIleage is good - about right where the EPA estimates place it, but I hope it goes up even more with warmer weather coming. Highway road noise is low, unless you are going into a very strong headwind. It has an off beat look that I really like too - much different than most other small SUVs. I almost feel like I'm playing a video game with the mileage bar on the driver's computer display when I try to increase my mpg reading. I really like the adjustable HID lights - it is nice for night driving to vary the horizontal light level, depending on the road I'm on. All of the features work well on this car and I can tell Mitsubishi really put a lot of thought into it. It's my first Mitsubishi and I'm proud to drive my Outlander Sport!!!

Full review MANUAL 5 speed transmission
What a great car! For those who prefer to shift for themselves; this little 5speed MANUAL is a ton of fun&makes this a very enjoyable place to send your time. I really like the aggressive styling especially the front end, the lights give it a menacing look. Overall exterior styling is very cool, I would go as far as to say its on par with the new Range Rover Evoque(both are similar in size&shape)especially with the 2013 update to the front fascia & the now std very cool looking 18?alloy wheels. Look at the std features A/C,Bluetooth,USB,leather steering wheel&shift knob, traction,LED instrument lighting,LED brake lights, trip computer,7 airbags(1 for the drivers knees),ABS,CD/MP3,privacy glass, rear spoiler, spare tire(you get fix a flat in the Soul ouch!),4 wheel disc brakes,18?alloy wheels, plus a 10 yr warranty. Thats a lot of stuff you normally wouldnt get on a base car! Twenty grand, but after rebates & incentives it much, MUCH LESS. Mitsubishi is dealing on these, their #1seller. I bought new, in Jan 2013&got a big discount(20%)off sticker. The best part is the 550ml driving range, from the 16.6 gal fuel tank! I drove 520ml, & the trip computer still showed 30 ml to empty. The fuel tank actually holds more than the 16.6 gal thats advertised, much closer to 19.6 gal total capacity. That works out to a hair less than 28mpg in mixed driving(50% city/HWY). This happen more than once. I drive about 100 ml a week, so its over 5wks of driving before I see a gas station. The trip computer is showing 24city, 32 hwy(driving at 70 mph) I even saw a high of 38mpg on the HWY at a steady 55mph(during break in. No,I wasnt passing anyone). So fuel economy&range are both outstanding. At $3.99/gal for gas now days it adds up. I traded my 2008 Suzuki XL7 with a 3.6L V6, I was averaging 19 MPG thats a $1000 a year in savings just in fuel economy. The overall comfort is good, passenger vol is about the same as a 2012 Ford Escape (98 cu ft.), however the cargo area is touch smaller(20% less). The Outlander had better looking interior & felt nicer plus there were more standard features, & it costs less to boot! You sit fairly high up & get a nice commanding view over most traffic. The seats are very comfortable upfront; weve taken a 360 ml road trip & no complaints. Overall material inside are decent & look like they will last. The layout is very good, radio is up nice & high & easy to reach there are also audio controls on the steering wheel. Outward visibility is quite good too, front pillars a relatively slim, & there are no hideously bad blind spot out back. The back seat is good I can fit back there, Im 5'11". The cargo area is bigger than what they say, about 27cu ft. It has plenty of storage nooks upfront too. The engine a 2.0L 4 cylinder&has 148HP, more than enough. Teamed with a 5speed manual, it really works well&its tons of fun. Yes, down low the engine is a bit flat, but above 2400RPM its downright zippy! Getting on the freeway is a great blast running through the gears, real fun!&youre not going to raise too many eyebrows. Shift it into top gear&youre going along at 60mph at 2500RPM in 5th(yes it could use a 6th). One of the car magazines tested a manual & got 8.5 sec to 60 & 16.5 in the 1/4 ml. Which is decent, its fast enough to have fun& still get 28 mpg. The exhaust has just a bit of a raspy sound to it kind of cool. Once warmed up its nice & smooth. The ride is good, fairly well controlled & responsive. In everyday use in city driving it does quite well. The Outlander changes direction very nicely (dare I say Sporty)&can dart in&out of traffic at will. There is some body lean in turns (aggressively), but left to right transitions (lane changes) seem to be handled very well. It?s a bit bouncy, also gets a little noisy above 65mph, not a deal breaker. You may not even notice the radio has 148 watts & 4 speakers & sounds really good plus a setting for rock, hip hop, or country&USB to play music from a memory stick or a phone. With just over 2K ml on it now Im really happy,I wanted a compact SUV,this ones on the smaller end of the spectrum, its nimble, fast enough (for me), &very fuel efficient. A great car if you live in the city, its easy to park; its only 14ft long. Im very happy this car plan on keeping it til the wheels fall off.

Short and sweet...
The Outlander Sport is a great little car. It's roughly the same size inside as the previous ford escape (passenger volume 98 cu ft), the cargo area is touch smaller (20% less). I really didn't like the Escapes interior looked and felt very cheap in both materials used as well as fit and finish (burlap seats and I couldn?t quite get comfortable in the Escape). The Outlander had better looking interior and felt nicer plus there were more standard features.... like a trip computer (vs. just the miles to empty), 6 way adj drives seat (very comfortable no issues), USB port, Bluetooth, steering wheel audio controls, privacy glass, 18 alloy wheels and a 10 yr. warranty. Any way I have just over 2K miles on it now getting just under 28mpg in mostly city driving, but the range is unbelievable 550 ml to the tank full! The engine has good power; 148 hp is plenty - 0 to 60 in 8.5 sec, and 1/4 mile 16.5. The handling is really good and feels a bit sporty. It changes direction very easily, and can dart in and out of traffic at will, but the ride can get a little bouncy - not bad mind you but you notice it. It's also a bit noisy (mostly wind noise) at above 65mph - also not horrible, but again you notice it. On the plus side the radio is really good for a basic unit (148 watts) sounds great. Over all I'm really happy, I wanted a compact SUV this ones on the smaller end of the spectrum, its nimble, fast enough (for me), and fuel efficient. Great car if you live in the city. It's easy to park; it's only 14 feet long. I?m very happy that I chose the Outlander Sport over the Escape, I don?t feel like I bought the bargain basement blue light special.

Great Small SUV
Very good small SUV. I have the SE model. It is slightly smaller than some of the mainstream small SUVs, but it is easy to maneuver and is a nice upgrade from driving a car. I do well with gas mileage and it looks sharp. There are many, many good things about this car with features that are only available for thousands more from the other automakers and seem upscale. Once you check it out after looking at others you will wonder how Mitsubishi puts together such a good vehicle for a very fair price. Before buying this, I checked the build quality of the interior, the suspension and engine and it is pretty well on par with the other automakers. The paint is sharp and front seats are very comfortable. I gave the comfort level 4 stars, because the back seats could be a little softer - but kids don't seem to mind. Plenty of pick up with this SUV too for what I need. I am not in races with anyone and it gives me what I need for everyday driving. Look at the other brands and then try this one out and you'll see why it is a terrific buy.

Think 4 yourself; challenge the critics.
Professional critics pan this car. Owners highly rate them. Test one yourself. Is it under powered? Can you keep up with traffic? Or can you pass traffic even in its econo mode. No storage? How about 6 - 25 inch hard side bags in the back with room to spare, the seats up and the tonneau cover down? Not bad! On my first real trip - combined highway, back road flat expanses and miles of twisty, hilly roads I got 28.7 mpg and went 409 miles with 30 miles left per the readout. I used 13.6 gallons of 87 octane fuel...and that's with only 1300 break-in miles on the odometer. Undercoating and the tonneau cover do counteract real criticism of rear road noise. The GPS works great. I loaded 95 waypoints in less and 70 minutes using its logical input process... the Rockford Fosgate audio is perfect for this sport yut. Despite the critics who have to bully something to look credible, don't dismiss the SUV may satisfy you from start to finish. This is a great ride!
