A winner!!
I bought a 2005 Altima 2.5 SL used and I have yet to have any issues. I love this car and its sporty look, I put 18 inch rims on it and it looks great. I love the wood trim interior and the Boss system sounds awesome. The trunk is big. I put a box with 12 inch subs and still have room to put in groceries and a baby seat. I wish I got a few more miles per gallon but I wouldnt trade it for any other competitor

Solid Vehicle
Good car, good value. At 108,000 miles we've only had minor repairs/issues. We normally get 23 city/ 26 why mpg.

Sweet ride
I bought this car w/ 117K on it. It ran like new then and still does now w/ 135K. Took it to Florida once and Maryland several times. Cruises smooth and quiet. I have the V6 and 5spd manual and this thing has some major get up and go. Very surprising! I have done a few minor repairs, but that's expected with the miles on it. Replaced a rear wheel bearing, seat belt buckle, fuel door, sway bar links and had the A/C charged. Interior is very nice and massive. Feels like a fullsize car. When I bought it, I could tell it was rarely washed or waxed in it's life but the body was in great shape w/ only a few small spots of rust here and there (I live in the salt bath of NY). I get around 29-30mpg on the hwy and 26mpg average. I think everyone who wants a reliable sedan should have one of these!

Nissan or nothing
Bought the 6 cyl. This car takes off! Never replaced anything on it but a fuse and I have 130,000 mi. on it. Love my car so much I'll drive it till it blows. So inpressed that I can't see myself driving any other make of vehicle again. Love the chrome touches on the interior. It's a sharp car. Compliments stating that it looks "like a luxury car". Performance is outstanding! Takes corners like a pro. Does well in snow. Awesome, reliable & dependable!

Would i recommend? Absolutely!
Since the 2002 redesign of this vehicle, i was very interested in purchasing one. I decided to limit my choices to a 2005 or up because of the updated interior, and a V6 because i like the extra power. i was hoping to purchase an SE because the wheels are much more attractive, but ended up buying a 3.5 SL. As far as styling goes, this is a very attractive car. My SL was equipped with a rear spoiler and side spoilers, the only way i would buy a car..As far as comfort goes, the seats are comfortable. The view is good. The layout of the dash and all the radio and climate controls are placed very thoughtfully. The steering wheel controls are also a convenient feature. My SL was also equipped with HID headlights, which... truly make a huge difference for night driving. The BOSE system is one of the best i have ever heard, and the sound quality blows me away every time i hear it. I really like being able to roll the front windows down using the remote, very convenient on a hot day. The backseat is plenty roomy. As far as performance goes... I can't even begin to describe the satisfying feeling of driving this car. The V6 and auto trans work beautifully smooth together. For merging and passing, you get the feeling that you could pass anything no matter how fast your going. It doesn't hold corners like a 350Z, but is still satisfactory. I drove my friends 4 cylinder Altima and was surprised with the 4 cylinder power, which would suffice for most drivers. My V6 got great gas mileage, even with my lead foot. The V6 does REQUIRE premium fuel, but thats a small price to pay for the refined powertrain and great gas mileage. As far as reliability, i never had a single problem during ownership. I felt the craftsmanship and materials used were of high quality, as good as my current Lexus RX. My only complaint was the winter driving, even equipped with traction control. I assume the problem could easily be solved with the purchase of some winter tires. Overall, if you are in the market for a sedan, the Altima definitely deserves a look and I would absolutely recommend it. It spans the needs of many different drivers, from an everyday driver to someone who wants a performance oriented sedan.

More than I could ask for
Bought this car certified used from Nissan with 56K on it. Under warranty for the certified used for 100k or 7 years! Can't beat that deal and only had it in once for a minor repair and they did not argue at all about doing the work under the warranty. Fast four cylinder (I have the 5 speed manual) that also gets great gas mileage (I get about 26 overall). Get compliments on the looks all the time-especially nice in smoke with the stock headlights since they come tinted it blends in very nice. Good in the snow as long as your tires are at least average all seasons. Only concerns are the following- 1) seats aren't too comfortable for long (4+ hr) trips 2) the car does NOT like to go into 2nd gear (sometimes at all) in the cold. This is not specific to just my car, this happened with ALL nissan/infinity cars with the 5M from that year. Other than that, I would not trade the car for anything. Put 21K on it in the first year and had to do nothing other than basic maintenance. Highly recommend. My parents liked it so much they bought one for themselves and my friends also enjoyed it and are looking into getting one too! Can't beat it for performance, fuel efficiency, and good looks!

3.5SL - Fast, stylish, priced right
The Altima 3.5SL is an amazing car. Great pickup, good highway MPG(26), stylish, smooth ride, and priced right! We love our new car. It took 2 years of searching for just the one we wanted, but eventually found it through a private party post on cars.com.
