2001 Nissan Pathfinder consumer reviews

I purchased the 2001 Pathfinder LE in late 2000. I have owned this vehicle for the last 17 years, It was my primary vehicle for 13 of those years. I drove it daily on the highway and currently have 339,000 KMs on it. I did all the regular maintenance, oil changes and changed the spark plugs at approx 160K KMS. It's been a pleasure to drive and I always feel safe and secure in it. Last November 2017, I was in a accident and hit from behind and then hit the vehicle in front. My insurance provider has written off the SUV but I have still been driving it for the last 7 months and sadly will have to say good bye to it soon. It's a beast and very reliable. I had two sets of tires one for summer and one for our rainy west coast season. If you find one of these vehicles with less than 200K kms and need it for a 2nd - buy it!. My 2001 would have lasted me for at least 400,000 kms if not been in an accident. I am currently in search of a replacement pathfinder pre 2004.

Fun to drive. Gas mileage is not good. Does great in snow. 162,000 miles. No major issue. Remember that Nissan has engine bank swapped compared to other vehicles

I bought mine used. It was 4 years old w/50,000+ miles on it. Now it's 17 years old eith 175,000 miles. Though it is showing some wear, and I've had to do some minor repairs, I expect to have it another year or two at least. I'm short so the higher profile makes it easier to see around me. I feel much safer in it than a car. I prefer this body style over the newer Pathfinder.

Outstanding reliability. Excellent value. Perfect for getting up to the mountains in the snow, or just cruising around town on a clear day. Highly recommended.

I test drive this car awhile ago and had to have it. I never would have thought an older car would drive better than some of the newer ones I took for a test drive! 4wd is a huge plus as well. Look forward to owning this one for a long time to come!

16 years old and still going. It's had a few repairs for sure, but no big ticket items yet! If you are looking for ling lasting, look here.

I bought my pathfinder with 77K. It now has 195K and I kid you not, I have had to do not a single repair in all that time. I've had it for 10 years and I cannot say how amazing it's been to not worry about my car for that long. A couple of times I was down to almost no oil (I know, really bad) and somehow the engine works like new! The only issue that I have with the car is that it's not for tall people. I'm 5'11 and I cannot sit up in my seat to stretch my back because my head doesn't fit. Time to get a new car, but I cannot tell you how reluctant I feel to let go of this oldie, but goodie!

I have owned my 01 Pathfinder for 8 years. It is an exceptionally reliable vehicle, and has been a great do it all ride- daily commute, vacation road trips, and off road weekend adventures. The styling is sleek and I think still looks cool even though it is 14 years old now. The size of this vehicle is perfect for a couple or with a kid and/or pet. Lots of well thought out interior design features. I have worn through the vinyl on the armrest, but I think if I had stored it inside the interior would still be in great condition. The Pathfinder rides very well on the highway and city. I REALLY love its off road capabilities. I regularly take on on dirt roads in the basin and godawful rocky two tracks in the mountains. It has handled it all just fine. Obviously the clearance is not as good as a truck, but I have found it works in 99 percent of off road situations. The only time it has failed on me is when I tried to cross a wide ford in it- the stream was about 4 ft deep in the middle, deep enough that I lost traction on the stream bottom and flooded out. The only other critique I have is I wish the cargo bay was a few inches longer- you can easily car camp in the back with the seats laid down, but I am 6 ft tall and have to lay diagonally to fit.

262,000 miles and climbing. Replaced transmission and coils... otherwise regular maintenance. Had an oil leak for awhile. LE leather seats. Multi-disk stereo kaput. Great AC and acceleration. Driven from Oklahoma to Maryland to Washington... 3 years Hawaiii...
