Buyer Beware!!!
We bought the Platinum $45,000 model and have had it to Buckeye Nissan 5 times and it has only 6,000 miles on it!!!! -Recall item -Passenger Airbag not working -Front bumper peeling paint -Gasoline Smell? -Auto Lift Gate Malfunction And now most recently it needs a new Transmission!! We traded in a 10 year old Lexus RX330 that had no issues what so ever. The dealership has been very good at fixing these issues but I have NEVER had so many issues on a brand new $45,000 car like this before. My advise NEVER buy a new design model year car.

nissan pathfinder woes
I had this Nissan pathfinder 3 days when roof trim came loose hitting against vehicle. dealor had to order trim to replace it. transmission started shuddering and slipping especially on an incline and when speed is less than 30miles per hour. Yes they serviced it by "reprogramming tcm" referring to a service bulletin ntb13-086. I had vehicle 2weeks when transmission started HAVING ISSUES. nOW 1 WEEK AFTER THIS REPROGRAMMING TRANSMISSION IS HAVING SAME SHUDDERING AND IT DOES THIS AT DIFFERENT TIMES. also passenger airbag has not worked even when a person over 200lbs is sitting in the seat. airbag was reset but still doesn't work. I am very frustrated with everything that is wrong with this vehicle. It is comfortable and has power, but I am just afraid that transmission will just tear up completely. They assured me " no transmission will shut down first" !!!!.

Dealing with CVT problems for a while
I have the Platinum model and is an awesome SUV. The only problem is my 3 times in the dealer for service. Does anyone has a compliant after transmission replacement. My experience: After shouldering issue just 3 weeks after purchase (may 31) had the torque converter replaced. Later, just 2 weeks, the problem got worse and more notable. Then after several visits to the dealer and testing by Nissan technician they replace the whole transmission, just 2 weeks from now. Now shouldering is happening again.

Pathfinder is a Triumph!
I have read all the cry baby complaints about the CVT transmission, This IS an SUV, I don't expect it to perform like a Bugatti! I bought the Pathfinder Platinum Premium - and got a great price on it. I drove all the competition including the Infinity version - sorry I am not paying the freight for lane departure.. I'm happy to report I don't NEED my car to drive FOR me. That said, this thing is incredibly nimble, handles corners and accelerates without effort. I have driven this across the "Grapevine" here in Cali several times without effort. I love the space, finally a 3rd row an adult could use if need be. My family is safe, and I feel my money was well spent.

Never had transmission problems!!!!
I bought a Nissan Pathfinder SL in March 2013. I have 10,000.00 miles and I can honestly tell you that I have never had a transmission issue. I have been reading all of the reviews for months and I have never felt a shutter/jerking in the car. I have been averaging 23 -24 miles per gallon. I test drove the Explorer, Highlander, Acura, Lexus and Volvo and I chose the Pathfinder for the value, comfort, great mileage and it is very easy to drive and park. I also love the fact that I can fit 7 people very comfortable. The 3rd row is good size and is very easy to access.

Do your homework
My wife and I drove only Honda for 12 years. We were drawn to Pathfinder for its 3rd row availablity as well as the upgraded options that Honda couldn't offer for the price we paid. I became aware of the transmission problem the night before delivery and brought it to the salesman attention who claimed he wasn't aware of this issue, (yeah right). So we purchased the extended warranty up to 100,000 miles. Well at 875 miles we became to newest member of the Transmission Club. At 20mph the car was vibrating for about 10 secs and then stopped. This occured 3 times in two days. I brought the car back to the dealer and also found out that there is a recall on the ABS brake system as well!!! So after owning the car for 3 weeks, spending $42,000, I was not in the best moods with this car and missing my Honda CRV. The dealer reprogrammed the computer brake system, and so far no issues. As far as the transmission, the dealer reprogrammed the computer and no later that 4 hours upon "fixing" the car, the transmission reacted again. I went back to the dealer, I was told that a mechanic has to physically drive the vehicle and experience the trasnmission slipping rather than valuing my voice. The issue I have is that the transmission doesnt' slip on command nor is it predictable, it occures spontaneously. Nissan is just waiting for me to break down with a tow until they go any further to repair the transmission issue. To make a long story short, its been about a week so far and no slipping has occured. Aside from this issue I still love the car! Im just glad i purchased the extended warranty cause at 99,999 miles I'm trading in for a Honda!

We Love It
We love the our new suv. It has 3500 miles now. so far so good. very quiet, responsive, good handling and zero wind noise. Tranny is smooth. The best MPG i got is 23 mpg. i am kinda dissappointed. City is 21mpg. Cannot install a roof rack aftermarket. aside from that we are happy.

In love...so far
I read some of the terrible reviews about the new Pathfinder (mainly transmission issues) the night before I was supposed to pick up my car. I felt sick and thought I was making a mistake trading in my 2012 Highlander. I've only had the car a few days and love it! It is beautiful, comfortable and has more and better features than my Highlander. The first day I had it, I was stopped by a man who had purchased an Acura and said if he had known the body style had changed, he would've bought the Pathfinder instead. I haven't had any of the issues others have discussed in other reviews. I have seen the hood shake a little at high speeds, but I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read about it. What a silly complaint. Acceleration is a bit slower, but that doesn't bother me. I'm not racing anybody. Gave a 4 on reliability only because I haven't had it long enough to know. I can't say enough about how much I love how this vehicle looks. It's a great family car and excellent for road trips. Go get one, great value! PS...figure out how to open the gas door before you need to fill up for the first time!

Fuel sucker both ways!!!
We chose the Nissan PF Platinum model for its seating capacity and advertised fuel mileage.......we are highly disappointed with the actual fuel mileage we are getting. Talked to dealer, gave me the usual "it's got to be your driving habits" BS...I took the computer out of it and ran gallons pumped to mileage totaled for 10 tank fills, best in town was 15 and best highway was 19... Tried non ethanol fuel, tried higher octane.....it's the vehicle not the driver!!! I have looked online for complaints and backup information to make sure it has others in complaint mode. I think a class action suit is possible for situations like this. I understand FORD Fusion has a similar problem and the Feds are involved in that one so we will see what happens! I think over-stating the fuel mileage is very deceptive practice and a real shame......once your in it, there isn't a whole lot you can, by yourself. I hope to change that.
