Transmission Died After 2-Days
I purchaed a brand new 2013 Pathfinder SL and took possession on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Almost exactly 48 hours later on September 26th, I was less then a block from home when the car suddenly lurched violently then resumed normal acceleration. As I pulled into my slightly upward angled driveway, the car shuddered aggressively then stopped. I pressed on the accelerator and the car would not move. The transmission would not engage at all. I received no warning indicators and had no issues prior. When I exited the vehicle there was a trail of liquid from under my car all the way down the street from the direction I came from. There was also a large pool of liquid under the engine and the engine oil was low to about 1 quart. The car had 113 miles on it when I left the dealership. It had 217 when the tow truck picked it up this morning. Reports online indicate there is a fix in place for this issue, but when I called MY dealership they said they had never heard of anything like this happening before. Buyer beware. The body style and transmission are new to this model year. With little effort I found several reports of similar issues. The car is awesome otherwise so if you're set on a Pathfinder, get the 2014!

Pleased with purchase.
It was time for my wife to trade in her 2001 SUV. We drove every vehicle in the midsize SUV 6-7 passenger class. It came down to the Pathfinder or Explorer. I can't say anything bad about the Explorer. It came down to the value of what we were receiving for the money spent. We felt the best value was the Pathfinder. Had the Pathfinder not totally changed it's look since 2012, we would not have purchased the 2013. We have had this vehicle for 3 months now & I am disappointed to date with the MPG. I have only achieved 18 MPG and not the 22 MPG that the literature stated. I hope this will change soon.

Transmission problems!
Avoid buying this car until Nissan develops and fields an effective fix for "shuddering" while driving. Reference Nissan's Pathfinder Facebook page to see accounts of transmission problems and ineffective repair efforts. Ignoring the driveability problems, we like our Pathfinder. We purchased it early in 2013 and liked its features. However, since it has developed the transmission "shuddering," we are worried about continued reliability and safety.

Great Vehicle
Positives: I've had the vehicle for 3 weeks. Traveled on the highway with 6 passengers in the vehicle. Averaged 24.5 mpg on the trip. The mileage is very good for this size of vehicle. Steering and brakes are excellent. The CVT tranmission is smooth while going up and down hills. No downshift as the CVT just tells the engine to give more or less rpms in cruise. You'll love this car for travel. As quiet as any vehicle that I have ever purchased! Nissan did a great job on this newly redesigned vehcile. Negatives: Could use the upgraded stereo, and a nicer wheels.

Pathfinder 2013
Ok Pathfinder was not my first choice I was looking at Grand Cherokee/Explorer/Highlander. But after the test drive, I couldn't believe how smooth the pathfinder was compared to others. The last row is actually for adults compared to explorer or highlander. Also I feel we got lot more for our money. We bought the SL with sunroof/moonroof/dvd package. Grand Cherokee/highlander would have cost us much more for that same options.

Eddie's Pathfinder
extremely comfortable, great styling, draws a lot of attention. The leather is really nice and the wood grain brings out the rich look of the interior. Handles better than expected for a big vehicle. has good road manors. The little features blue tooth, great sound system, back up cameras, make driving a joy.

mpg not so
This car drives well, looks great and is very roomy. 2 complaints: 1- airbag light on passenger side shows that it is off majority of the time. 2- the gas is no where near what it is advertised. Around town I am getting 16.2 mpg at best. Took a 3 hour road trip and got 20 mpg. Anyone else experience this??

Great car for the money!
Purchased the 2013 Pathfinder SV in red. Wanted all the bells and whistles but SV has truly what we needed. Thus far, we've been very happy with the vehicle, with just a few glitches to even speak of. Love the handling and smooth ride, easy sliding 2nd row, and the exterior styling. Plus we got a great deal and get the advertised gas mileage except with AC on full blast and full load in the car. Only two real negatives to speak of: Wish fog lights came standard and the (larger) doors swing way wide. Be careful when opening them in tight parking spots or in your garage!

Too new for final judgement but drives wonderfully
Would like a bit more chrome on sides and the doors for protection and style. Gas Mileage on trip--23.5--would like promoted 25 Beautiful interior--rides wonderfully--easy to maneuver--Driver has good vision and seats are comfortable.Very pleased overall. Compares favorably with all other cars that I have owned over the years.

Bang for your money.
My previous vehicle was 2010 Audi Q5. My choice of next vehicles were 2013 Audi Q5 Premium Plus w/NAV, 2014 Acura RDX w/tech package and 2013 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum Premium. I've found the Pathfinder to have most bang for your buck. Notable standard equipment on the Pathfinder Platinum Premium which is not even offered on other vehicle or it is an additional purchase option.... heated, power tilt and telescopic steering. Rear heated seats, factory standard remote starter 20 inch wheels and standard hitch. Ride comfort...Pathfinder gave the best ride, Audi then the RDX. Handling....Audi was superior(no surprise there) and RDX and the Pathfinder was very close. Beside the additional cost factor, buying another Audi with same body style was negative for me. I wanted to buy a different model. RDX...I founded to be very bumpy even on small imperfections of road. Overall I found the Pathfinder to be 5he best buy for the money. Con...Navigation needs improvement compare to Audi and RDX.
