A Superior Vehicle

I drove one of these as a demo for a few days. It was so convenient getting my baby and the carseat in and out of the back seat. I was not bumping my head like I usually do in my little car. I live in Missouri and I drove it when we got the bad ice/snow storms. I had never drove a vehicle like this and I was quite scared to drive in the conditions especially since the Rogue wasn't mine. I will admit, that was the best ride of my life even since the weather was horrible! I didn't slide or get stuck! I was so happy! I would honestly recommend this to anyone who likes a vehicle with lots of room and if you drive in all kinds of weather conditions because this is a good choice to have.

Not a Good Purchase

Purchased this vehicle in Jan 2008. Not happy with the gas mileage. My Minivan Freestar got better mileage then this vehicle. It averages about 20 miles to the gallon on the interstate. The glove compartment is designed terrible. The door is much to big. Don't like the cup holder between the front seats. Should have been side by side so the console could be longer to rest your arm. The compartment behind the cup holders is very hard to reach. When my kids call me on the cell phone, the first thing they tell me is to get off the bluetooth because it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. Back seat is not designed for five people like they advertise. Four people is the most you should seat for comfort. I think the gas gauge could have been designed better. It's to small. I've purchased 12 new vehicle's in my life and this was by far the worst choice.

Great piece of mind

Daughter had a very nice Camry but couldn't get to work at the resort where she works when it snowed. Helped her buy the SL w/premium package and the first day she got it it snowed 15 inches in the mountains. She was one of only a very few that were able to make it to work that day. She feels MUCH safer in the Rogue than anything else she has driven ( and that makes ME feel safer). I test drove it before we bought it and was very impressed with all the features and the paddle shifting worked extremely well for driving in the snow. My wife has an Altima and is very jealous now. SOOO, guess who gets the next vehicle and what it will be? Great job Nissan

I'd marry it if I wasn't already married

I got this on New Year's Day and it couldn't be a better way to start the year. I'm pretty practical about cars in general - owned the same car for 12 years and it still runs well - and this is certainly a practical car on many levels... but the excitement and joy every time I get to drive it, is really something. I have an hour long commute in LA traffic, and this makes it a pleasure. It handles brilliantly, sits high, is so comfortable, the dashboard controls are perfectly sized and laid out, the stereo sounds great (plus I got 3 months of XM free, which is fun to try out), it's spacious but not a huge tank, the cargo space is perfect for my needs. I get a LOT of compliments on the exterior, the color (indigo blue), the interior. I've been talking about it so much, my coworkers are probably sick of it. Gas mileage is excellent - I expected 18 or 19 as I am stuck in very heavy traffic daily, but the trip monitor is showing 23MPG average, which is a real pleasant surprise. The price was nice too - I'm paying a comparable amount per month as I did for my old car 12 years ago, and it's a major upgrade. I couldn't recommend this vehicle enough. It satisfies all my practical needs, but gives me a thrill every time I see it.

*Love this Car*

I got the Rouge in Nov.07 and i just love it. It was a gift from my dad. I use to love the Murano but this one is better. I love the way it drives, the radio system is great! Everything is great in this car.

It's the "UN" CR-V

I picked up my new Rogue SL 2WD (red with black/red int) with Premium Package, Moonroof, and additional minor trim items last Thursday. It's the first time ever I have traded in a car on a spur of the moment decision... and before I paid it off. Dealer was nice (I'm on my fourth Nissan) and gave me a deal on this newly introduced model. It's a winner to look at and I already had experience with the CVT and knew what to expect. Drivetrain doesn't dissapoint and interior is plenty roomy & comfortable enough for 4 (but not 5 as classified). I like the interior features and would have liked keyless ignition and bluetooth, but they are wrapped up into higher priced packages on the AWD SL model. For where I drive, I cannot justify the AWD, but am happy with options as is. Fit and finish are just fine. My suggestions of changes would be limited to putting a lock on the glovebox door and adding dash controls for hatch release and fuel filler door release. I took the Rogue on a 65 mile round trip (mostly freeway) and the trip computer registered 29.2 mpg... this is far better than what my '05 Altima 3.5 SE provided so I am happy. Had I been ready to purchase a vehicle of this type in 2005, I would have selected a RAV4 (this CUV has now moved too far up in size and power with a ridiculous 3rd seat)... last year I considered a CR-V, BUT maybe it's just a little too creamy smooth for me to think of it as a CUV... more like a car. Rogue pulls it off for presentation and delivery for what the segment represents. I congratulate Nissan for providing me with an alternative and I am happy with my choice that I would recommend to anyone.

Love it!

I just traded my Nissan Xterra for a 2008 Nissan Rogue SL with the Premium Package and I love it. It is very stylish and handles great. It drives just like a car, and you have the comfort and space of a suv. Its great. The technology is wonderful also. You have the handsfree bluetooth, which is safer while driving. You have the paddleshifters on the steering wheel which are fun! You have a manual (with no hassle of a clutch) and automatic in one! I only have 200 miles on it, so the MPG is not very accurate yet, especially since I live in the mountains. But it is reading 18.6 mpg right now. Which is wonderful. Especially since the price of gas keeps going up. I love this crossover and would recommend it to anyone!

The Best Compact SUV on the Market

I have driven the CRV, and the RAV-4, and they both do not even come close to the Rogue. I purchsed this vehicle over the weekend, and I love it. The syling is fantastic, and cool. The handling with the traction control is awesome, and the CVT is super quiet. This is by far the best value in the compact SUV market. Nissan hit a home run with this. I have to pull my son out of this vehicle, he loves it so much. The cargo area has plenty of room for an outing at Costco, and the rear passenger seats offer a ton of room, even with the front seats pushed back. The 2.5 I-4 does not seem to have as much pep as the one in the Altima, but it does its job. The gauges inside are stylish, and the ride is smooth. I love this vehicle!

Great Car with quirky packages

Nissan has a decent mini SUV that could have been a serious competition to the leader in this segment-RAV 4. However few quirky little things will persuade many buyers to look elsewhere. For example, there is no manual transmission or a standard automatic transmission available. Not everyone likes the CVT. The bundled packages border on absurdity. You cannot get leather with 2WD and you cannot get HID lights with 2WD. Yet you can get sunroof without any premium package. You cannot have the keyless and homelink with 2WD premium package. If you add aluminum kick plates or mud flaps to the SL package it will downgrade you to the S package! This reminds me of the strategy Dodge and Plymouth dealers used to do a few years before they went down the tube and I don't know whether Nissan is heading that way. It sounds like they are trying to jack up their price by forcing customers to buy options they dont really want. Keeping inventories to low level may boost the price slightly but Nissan is crazy to think that any of their vehicles command a premium price above the sticker. Rogue is an okay vehicle.Exterior Looks decent (Looks like a Hyundai from the rear and side) and the interior is one of the best.Performance is so so and the engine is noisy on acceleration. Handling is pretty good.gas mileage is good but not a class leader. Reliability is not known as this vehicle is in its first year but based on other similar vehicles Nissan has produced recently, it should be better than average. How does it compare to other vehicles? The RAV 4 sport or the limited V6 leaves the rogue in the dust in every way including performance, quiet interior, fun to drive, power to weight ratio and resale value. Honda CRV has better looks and resale value with less fun to drive factor than the RAV4 or the Rogue. I would seriouly recommend test driving them back to back before making a decision. All said; my wife bought a fully loaded Rogue (She hates Toyota) and she is happy! I own a murano and I would not trade it for anything else! My message to Nissan- Get your act together with options and packages. If not you will be driving your loyal customers away!
