perfect vehicle for comunting
I only driving this vehicle for 500 miles. The gas mileage is excellent. The 1.8L engine has good acceleration but with the air condition on the engine losses some power. For 6 ft people the seating is great no problems with knees touching the dash board or the back of the front seats. the power option is a good investment as to the curse control for long drives and ABS. A very good Value for the money

Great Value
I bought the version that was reviewed and installed the radio myself. It was easy and cheap. The Versa may only be rated at 34 Highway but after 3 tanks of gas, I am averaging 40.04 mpg.

Love This Car!!
Quite the value. 2009 1.8 Versa SL with CVT automatic. First tank mixed driving 28mpg. 2nd tank 32mpg mixed driving, last tank 30mpg city driving;the best is yet to come as I only have 1200 miles on the car. Have keyless entry and keyless ignition, MP3 aux., 6 cd changer and 6 speakers, Bluetooth, Moonroof, spoiler, front, rear and side fascia, ss Versa kickplates, mats.. etc. I paid $300 over invoice and got a Nissan 1500 rebate. Fit doesn't offer anything but Navigation. There is not a better deal out there. Early reviews were very mixed so I purchased the 100,000 mile/7 year premium warranty. You can bargain on this. It was offered at $1500 and I paid $995. Best visibility of any car I have owned. (20)Very quiet, comfortable and fun... Key to mileage, don't floor it when the light turns green. Keep it between 2-3 rpms for best performance. Miss my leather but if so desired, it's $1700 after market. It's cold here so I prefer the fabric. Fabric is nicer in SL and I also have ABS. Spring for this if possible. This is also the better engine. LOVE THIS CAR!!

40 Mpg inexpensive commuter
I bought this car last December. I have a blue 1.6 sedan, manual transmission; AC & ABS. That is all you need!!!...In this consumer oriented society, we have gotten used to wasting money on 'nice to have's'...well I commute every day from the suburbs to downtown...37 miles each way...in city traffic. My Versa just turned 3K and my fuel average is 40 mpg!!! so on a cost per mile basis this is as good as it gets...sure I had to spend $200 bucks to install a nice CD & HD radio in it, but the car already came with 4 speakers and antenna pre-wired...oh I also spent $139 to professionally tint my windows (this is a must here in Texas). So far the car has been absolutely trouble free...yes I have to exercise my arm just a bit to manually lower the window at drive thru's and garage gates...and I had to manually adjust my side view mirrors when I first picked the car up...big deal...oh yes...one thing is that I have to remember to manually lock each door when getting out of the car...again these are minor things...and if you are willing to live with them...you can get yourself a nice, reliable car for less than a regularly used one. Power is fine...no you will not win any drag races with it, but I regularly do 75-85 on my commute and the car has no problem keeping up with traffic. In conclusion, I can not be happier about my purchase...every day I drive it and see other cars around me, I just think of all the extra money everybody paid just to sit in traffic right next to me. Love my little Versa!!!

I love my versa!
My husband and I bought the versa last July - it's a hatchback, automatic. It's been fantastic - tons of room for a small car. We've actually thought about buying another one when our Toyota Corolla goes caput. I love the way it handles and the interior finish is nice. All together spent around 15k with a 7 year premium warranty - can't be beat!

Excellent Value/Best in Class
I purchased a Nissan Versa 1.8SL with CVT after reviewing and driving all the comparable cars on the market. It beat the competion on space ( I am 6ft 3+)and performance for the intended use of single person commuting on suburban and interstate roads. I had real reservations since my existing car was a 2.4 Turbo PT Cruiser doing 17 mpg. I need not have worried. There is no noticable performance difference with one person but twice the MPG. Performance with 3 or 4 people is more than adequate. Build quality appears to be excellent so far. Controls easy to use. I have always prefered stick to auto but not any more CVT is the way to go. Only had the car just over a week so reliabilty verdict is still out.

Dissapointed
At a glance, the Nissan Versa may seem like a good buy, I mean, it?s a Nissan, right?? Well, I've owned this car for a short time, and I'm experiencing many problems. The steering is out of alignment, the car veers to the left in the freeway. I also regret purchasing the 6-speed manual transmission, at 80MPH in 6th gear; the car is doing nearly 4000 RPM!!! That is ridiculous! If you do for some reason decide to purchase this 28MPG, 120HP ?GAS SAVER?, go for the convenience package with ABS and a CVT. But if you haven?t bought this car do a little more research, you won?t regret it.
