A hidden beast with some low quality control gripe

Where can I start? Large V6 that gulps gas faster than most V8's, Cheap plastic feeling interior and cloth seats that are slightly uncomfortable. Other than those and the fact when you drive it you feel like you're driving an absolutely massive vehicle on par with a land yacht when in reality it's not even close to that size and is rather short in length. Overall, nice amount of ponies and torque and you can use it all which is nice, and the 4 wheel drive works great.

I LOVE MY XTERRA!

I never had any issue with this card I will be looking out for them now that they are discontinued. Great value and longevity for the price I paid 8 years ago.

Most reliable car I ever owned!

Sporty, capable to take you off-road, and very reliable! Barely had any issues with it until it gave up on me at 187K. The only CON is the interior could use some better quality fabric & a bit more leg room in the back.

Very Reliable SUV

Overall this was a great first SUV. The ride is stiff, and the vehicle is basic, but for the value you can't beat it.

Workhorse

I've never owned such a reliable vehicle. 110,000 miles without a single problem. Engine and transmission are very strong. I have no doubt it will last another 150,000 miles at least.

Good cars at good prices!

If you are trying to get into a ride quickly and efficiently, this would be the best place to go Car Mart south. They take very good care of their customers and make sure the whole process of getting a car goes smoothly. They make sure they try to get you into the car that you want and they also make sure it will be reliable. It is our first Nissan xterra and we have been pleased with it so far and we were very pleased with the business aspect as well.

Great 4 X 4, solid, reliable, and Fun to drive

Pros; My 2006 Nissan Xterra Just had a few updates at 112,000 miles, new brakes, rotors, tires Generals, Synthetic oil change, and filter, transmission flush, added external transmission cooler, eliminated radiator transmission cooler. Cons; timing chain guide problems, very expensive $ 1800., Mine did not have this probem, Radiator fails leaks coolant in to transmission ruining transmission, $ 3800 repair. Mine did not have this problem. I added external transmission cooler, and eliminated the possible problem. Yes I would buy it again. Great 4 X 4

WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I love the Nissan Xterra. I previously owned a Jeep Liberty and constantly had issues with it. So, I traded it in for a Xterra. I love my new car! It is spacious, and feels like a tank. I feel as though it is safe and practical for my family.

Xterra Review

Ok, so I'm pretty big into cars, and i'm test driving the Nissan Xterra and several other cars before I decide what I want. I have driven several Xterras from the 2005 model year. The big thing that I have noticed with this car is the reliability... Fun as heck to drive, looks great, serves my offroad purposes... but every car I've driven or test drove from this model are the exact same... there are a lot of small electrical problems with the cars... I've also had problems with other things as well... while they may be minute problems, it would be very timely and costly to keep fixing problems. As far for the engine, great engine, great performance, great power. Excellent offroad capabilities, but how can you drive if the car is constantly in the shop?? You will have more time and money spent in the shop than you will enjoying the car... If you get lucky, you will love it... problem is, how lucky are you!?

Love the Xterra

I love it. The extras that came with it such as the cd changer and tow package. The Nissan dealership was friendly and helpful and very polite.
