Another positive review...
I have had my 06 base GP for 2.5 years and 80k miles now and it has been very reliable. I use it for work- lots of highway miles. I am quite pleased with this vehicle and the value for the money. Acceleration, braking, handling and performance are all very worthy. I can get 26-27 mpg on the highway going 75mph with a loaded trunk. There are flashier and far more expensive options on the road but if you want an ecomical, attractive and reliable vehicle this has fit the bill for me.

Best car I have had in years
I have owned Toyota's since 1984. I got a Grand Prix as a company car in 2006. I have over 80,000 miles and it still drives like brand new, thight and fun. New tires and oil changes are the only things its ever needed. Its better than any Toyota I have ever had. GM officially has my business back.

nice car
had a 2000 model but wrecked it. Was satisfied with the reliability and was eager to try this newer one out. Glad I did , it handles well for my driving habits and plenty of power to. Fuel economy is way better than my old one and i like the feel of a big car which my previous one did not give me. I got a base model but i really would love to get the gxp with the v-8 . these are good cars too bad they have discontinued them, maybe the G-8 will be worth the trade off.

Amazing driver
This car is an awesome daily driver. My mom has the Liquid Silver Metallic Sport Package 06' Grand Prix with the body kit, 10-spoke rims, and whatnot. Her friends comment on how good the car looks, and for a Grand Prix, this car looks sharp! I personally drive a 03 Eclipse and a 97 Trans Am. Whenever I go on long trips, I beg my mom to drive her car. Gas mileage is a plus, my mom averages 23mpg city driving and she has a bit more of a lead foot than most. The comfort and quietness of the car is rival to Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. The 3800 series V6 it comes from is RELIABLE My family has owned a 94 Bonneville 3800- died at 220k miles, 94 TransSport 3800- 261k miles. We as a family have always driven Pontiac. The Bonneville and TransPort minivan sealed in our loyalty to Pontiac

favorite of all time
I have nothing bad to say about my 2006 grand prix. It has lots of power and looks like a real sports car. It gets really good gas mileage and is super comfortable. I've had many cars and this is by far my favorite. I will prolly upgrade to the 5.3 grand prix only to see how much power it has. great car i cant explain how much i love it

Wow, what a car!
I have driven many cars in my time and this has been one of my favorite. I needed a sedan for the family, but i wanted something a bit sporty. It is hard to stumble across this car because pontiac doesnt advertise it well. It looks great from the outside: ; it is actual a design from a studio in Australia and is similar to its Euro Brother the Vauxhall Vectra. I just bought the stansdard version and it is very fast. It is electronically limited to 140 mph and goes 0-60 in 6.5 seconds without the upgraded versions! For the price the interior is well planned, it was made to be cost effective so nothing in the sense of luxury, but it does have a sporty look. The handling is great for a FWD car but not the best. For the base price it comes with an onboard computer, CD player, steering wheel controls, and great light elumination at night. My only complant is that the standard sport suspension is very bumpy for daily driving.

mostly just right car
If this car came with a standard transmission and limited slip rear wheel drive, it would be just right. Very pleased with my first Pontiac after decades of Chevrolet ownership.

Is it a tank?
This review is based on the base model with the 200hp 3800 V6 I am currently driving as a rental while my car is in the shop. Quite frankly I'm not impressed. First off, the comfort: I'm a relatively tall guy at 6'3". Even with he seat as far down as it goes, the low coupe-like roof encroaches on my field of view. The side windows are very small giving the vehicle an overall feel of driving a tank, looking out through little slits to see the outside. I guess the seats are supposed to be sporty, but the side bolsters are nothing but uncomfortable. The all red dash-lights look as if their sole purpose is to cause more road-rage and aggressive driving. While the stereo get's pretty loud it fails to ever sound good. I can't quite put my finger on what's missing. I'll refrain on commenting on the quality and feel of the interior materials, as this is - after all - the base model. If they aren't any better in the better equipped models it's noteworthy though. The car is a full size, but I keep wondering to myself where all the space went. This is one car that is bigger on the outside than on the inside. The cockpit feels cramped and uncomfortable. It does have a rather large trunk though. The truck-like feel of the car reinforces the tank feeling while driving it. It has a 200hp engine that occasionally comes to life when mashing the accelerator, but the car still somehow feels as if it?s pulling something behind it. The whole experience of driving this car is very cumbersome. It's amazing it only weighs 3400lbs. It feels like it weighs closer to 6000lbs. The handling is OK. It?s nothing to write home about though. Driving the car one feels too insulated from the road so it is difficult to tell what is going on, and adjust ones driving accordingly. The fact that the car did not have ABS (is it even legal to sell cars without ABS?) was very worrisome. To sum it up, the only good thing about this car is that it makes me look forward to getting my own car (2001 Saab 9-5 Aero) back from the shop. I can't wait.
