No mechanical issues in the first year.

I have owned both domestic and import vehicles from European, Asian and American manufacturers. This is the first time in ten years I have not had to have a visit to the dealer for other than routine maintenance. No squeaks, rattles or loose trim. No less than 20 mpg around town. Base 3.8 is reasonably quick. As far as value goes, I have spent twice as much on a car and not had it do a better job for me. The dash is very plain, but nothing that a carbon fiber or aluminum applique wouldn't cure.

Caution: May cause driving addiction

This is a fun car with the versatility to haul your family in comfort. With lots of features the GT is really a great underestimated vehicle that is shuned by the majority that is convinced the American car maker is obsolete. Well, I am here to say you should reconsider. For the price: Leather, premium stereo, supercharger, roomy trunk and cabin, comfort, smooth ride, and a proven 3800 GM V6, you can't find a better value. Step away form the Camcords.

This is a "you the man" car!

My first driving experience with the Grand Prix Sedan came in a used 2000 vehicle...When it was time to upgrade my driving experience I gave Pontiac the first shot. After driving my 'New' 2006 GPS I didn't take another test drive with any other vehicles. My test drive was up a 21/2 mile back road (paved) but grueling considering we went straight up the bumpy road with power and speed and exceptional cornering ability around those tight back roads, with the smoothness of a purring kitten. And oh by the way it was 89 degrees outside but my DIC showed it was a 'perfect' 70 degrees inside with the sweetest sound system I have had since I was 18. Thanks GPS for making me feel 18 again. YES I WOULD DEFENITELY recommend this vehicle to others to buy!!!

My First Fun Car

From hugging the turns to blowing the competition away at the light, the GT has been my first FUN to drive car. The Monsoon premium sound system is the best factory system I have heard. The trunk is extensive enough to haul the golf clubs and groceries with ease. The only downside to this delightful drive is the constant urge to see how far how fast you can go.

GP GXP Exceptional Value for Performance Sedan

Why would anyone consider a GP GTP when the GXP V8 offers so much more for about the same price. Outstanding acceleration, ride, stying and perfomance! Bought mine right b/4 gas prices really jumped up, thankfully the V8 has DOD that drops down to 4 cylinders at cruising speeds which helps highway mileage TREMENDOUSLY! Head turner that gets many compliments. Too many features to list that make this fun to drive performance sedan a practical family vehicle as well; Heads Up Display, F1 inspired Tap Shifting, Side Curtain air bags, OnStar, rear doors open straight out for easy accesability, dual fold down rear seats, Monsoon stereo w/ 6 CD changer and XM Satellite Radio, high end disc brakes with cross drilled rotors, Bilstien gas shocks, leather seats w/ sueded inserts etc... 18" wheels look terrific although all weather tires are difficult to find. Front end styling is soooo much better than other GPs.

GXP rulz...

Headroom is not adequate for ne1 over 6' tall but the car is fun to drive. The GXP has enough power for most driving conditions and the 18' wheels smooth out the ride better. I wish the seats were 100% leather instead of the inserts which tend to attract foreign particulate matter. Overall, show me a better car for the price and you will have a buyer. tadpolesrule
