My third Saturn, I've loved all of them
The 2006 Ion doesn't seem to like 1st gear. (I have a manual transmission), but once past that obsticle all goes smoothly. Great on gas, and comfortable on long road trips.

PROBLEM!
You cant call it a car. But you can call it a problem. Avoid Saturn it was cool to have a new car for a year and now its a jucker with no rust! the one thing that i like about it still looks new but runs and drive like a old jucker

I would never own an Ion
I rented the Ion for three days for a business trip - thankfully only three days. The interior design was terrible and seats completely uncomfortable. The seats seemed to be designed to forced you into an unnatural slouch. And the center console is an idea that just simply needs to die. I would not recommend even renting one, not to mention owning one. This car has the unique distinction to be the only car I will never drive again.

The good and bad
We've had a 2006 Saturn Ion 3 for over a year and it drives well, like the handling, like the interior controls -easy to use while driving and attractive. Big trunk has been very nice. We've had to have the ignition replaced, some cable tied down that was rattling in the back, and the hinge for the mirror on the sunshade broke on one side and we hardly ever use it. A friend of ours bought an Ion 3 coupe and the paneling between the doors broke off while they were driving on the freeway. The foot room in back is only good for kids about 6 yrs and under, and especially leaves room to be desired with a carseat in one of the seats. The console is small, but big enough for a phone charger and gum. The cupholders are small and are right in front of the AC controls and cups are in the way when trying to put the car into park. The ridges on the roof sometimes make noise at freeway speeds -a whistling sound -louder than the engine. No engine problems other than the ignition though, it's been pretty reliable. Sorry we recommended it to our friends and don't recommend Saturn to anyone else -wished they used higher quality materials.

Good for about a year
I have had my Saturn Ion 2 for a little over a year and already I've had tohave the carpet replaced due to a hole in the floorboard, the breaks checked 3 times and now it just plain won't start even after they replaced the battery!! I would not recommend a saturn vehicle to anyone I know.

Great Car
I have owned my 2006 Saturn Ion3 Quad Coupe for a month now and can't drive it enough. I have the enhanced performance package with the 2.4 liter engine. Along with the traction control and sport tuned suspension this car feels and handles very well. It has taken its punches the last few years but this year they have greatly improved this vehicle. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a great car at a great price.

Great Car
The ion is a great car. I love the steering it moves on a dime. Steering wheel could have a little more comfort though. Huge trunk. Great on gas. It could have a little more lighting at the door panels to see your window switches. Like the theater seating in the back seats too. If your taller then 5'6" I wouldn't recommend sitting in the back. Not much more leg room then that. No doubt in my mind I will buy Saturn again!!!! It is a very well made car. I also like when you go to buy one there is no playing around with the pricing. What you see is what you get. Great Value and great service.

Great on Gas!!!
I love this car!! I went from a VW Beetle to this car, and I was unsure if this would be similar on gas as the bug was.. I can go almost 3 weeks without filling up the tank - which I love - and having Onstar on this vehicle is even better - since my child likes to lock me out of the car.. I would recommend this car to everyone I know!!

Bob
I've had this ION for three years and have experienced no problems. It's a five speed with enough get up and go to be fun, but it is still affordable. I enjoy drivinig it. It also looks as good as cars costing twice as much!
