Great first car

I got this vehicle when I turned 17 and I still have it 6 years later. No issues with upkeep, reliable and easy to drive. I loved my little Saturn!

Long-Lasting, Comfortable Car

I currently have 120,000 miles on my 2006 Saturn and it still runs like a clock. It is the right size for easy parking, gets 30 MPG, and has enough performance for my needs. The body rear quarter panels are made of fiberglass. I was once bumped hard on the NJ Turnpike by an impaired driver at high speed. The panel caved in and then bounced out again. All I had to do was wipe off the offending car's paint! The car looks as good now as it did when new. I always follow manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Only major work: The transmission rebuilt at 100,000. I wish they were still making Saturns with the these plastic panels.

Very reliable

This is the second Saturn I owned. It is at 152k miles and I have not had any serious issues with it other than the normal wear and tear like getting new brakes.

Great high school- college car!

This car has been great in what I need it to be. Great gas mileage, low maintenance. Very reliable. The only reason why I'm looking for a different car is that I want something taller off the ground.

Looks new forever

I'm only 5'1" so this car is perfect for me. I wouldn't recommend it for a tall person that needs the extra room. The paint on these cars is superior so the car looks new even 11 years later. Since the bottom portion of these cars is hard rubber there's never rust, making it perfect for those of us in the snow belt. Great on gas. So, so interior. Be sure to check all the recalls on these cars.

Harder to find parts for an orphaned brand

Front suspension on Saturns tend to wear out faster. To replace struts on an Ion would cost nearly $1,800 in parts and labor (if repaired at an authorized dealer).

I have owed four Ions, loved them all.

Great car, for a small car. I have owed four of these. I liked the Ion 3 much better than the Ion 2. The 2.4 engine is much better than the 2.2. Mileage is the same for both engines.

Please read-best car I'll ever own

I was in an accident this past Thursday, and I was on a back road almost home. I passed A neighborhood near mine (going 40 in a 45mph road)and where the curve is and I think my tire went off the road a small bit so I turned my wheels the other way, and then over corrected from that sending me off road, and I probably hit a tree and flipped my car a couple of times. I also nosedived into the ditch. Long story short I'm oka, only a few scrapes And bruises thanks to my Saturn ION 2006. My car ended up totaled, but the frame of the car saved my life, not bending unlike the rest of the car. My parents and I believe that if I had another car, ion may not be alive today. The Saturn ION saved my life. It's a great car for a teenager like me who just got their license a year ago.
