My last car

Love it. The gas mileage, the open lines of sight, huge sun roof, deep bass in the stereo, blue tooth for hands free talking, power seats, all the driving data sliced and diced in the display. Love the engineering of the engine and compartment. Low profileboxer engine and the oil filter ON TOP of the engine!!! The Subaru track record for longevity combined with the extended warantee I got makes this the last car I hope to buy. I live on a steep hill with a very long drive. Can't wait for the snow.

Everything I wanted in a new car

I've only had the car for about a month, but every time I drive it, I love it more! Only two things I wish it had: leather seats, and electric passenger seat. I love my car!

Keeping fingers crossed

Wife and I recently bought a 2014 forester limited after 10 years of of driving a grand caravan. We keep our cars for a long time and were looking for a reliable family car with better gas mileage. Although the interior room is much smaller than our old caravan, it is comfortable and will be able to handle our needs for traveling with the help ofa cartop carrier. It is so much quieter than the caravan. It seems that everyone has either a crv or rav 4 and we wanted to be the first in our families to have a subaru. To soon to report back on reliability.

Safe and Secure

Holds the road well. Takes curves well. Feel very safe. Hope to be driving this car for many, many years. Ride could be made to be a bit smoother.

Multiple Forester owner--impressed

I own a 2006 Forester, and I am impressed with the technological upgrades (except losing the 5 disk CD changer and cargo cover), the higher and stylish SUV frame, and the greater space in the second row of seats. The trim level I got in the 2.5i weather package includes an automatic backup camera, 3 auto dimmer mirrors, compass, and homelink system. For once, the Forester is attractive looking as well as all the other things one loves about a Subaru-- the superior AWD, highest rating by CR and the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, and the improved gas mileage. The biggest negative is the bumpier ride due to it being higher on more of a truck frame. The larger size will be hard to get used to driving at first, and the cargo space is three inches shorter. The stylishness does make it harder to see out of the previous "boxy" windowed back. I LOVE Subaru!

ACCOLADES AND DISAPPOINTMENTS

We are Forester people. I have been told by dealers that there really is such a bona fide classification. my father, husband, daughter and son all drive Foresters. me, too. that being said, there are very un-Forester-like things about the new Forester--most of them cosmetic. it now looks just like all the other amorphous jelly-bean cars on the road. the cool, boxy shape that made it a snap to identify at any distance is gone in a pouf of molded plastic. also, the windshield seems to be at a different angle, or something; and it lets in more sun and heat. there are some interior improvements over my 2001. the cup holder no longer blocks the heat/a.c. controls. there are now sun visor extensions! whooppee!! the rear seats will recline a little. here are the interior negatives: no rear cargo tray, luggage compartment cover or fog lights unless you buy them as add-ons. the dashboard storage compartment, holder of vital items that need to be readily accessible, is gone. the center console storage area is small but nice and deep. however: if you choose to make use of the cheap little coin tray, you cannot access anything underneath it. door pockets are shallow and hold almost nothing. there is now only one back of the seat pocket--on the passenger seat back. in other words, there is nowhere to put anything that can be easily reached from the driver's seat!! floor mats look like something that you could buy at the dollar store. interior fabric is cheap and flimsy. also--who would have thought it would be a great idea to put fabric on the door armrests? why isn't it vinyl, like it SHOULD be? the dealership has all the answers, of course. for a mere $899, they will coat the entire inside with some sort of fabric protector. anybody see a corporate conspiracy here? i'm disappointed. i thought subaru was better than that. also, does anybody know what kind of noxious, toxic off-gassing will linger from this chemical sealant and what effects we can expect from being closed in with it in a small space? that being said, the car's actual performance as a car is excellent. it is quiet, comfortable, and a joy to drive. i still love subaru and i am still a Forester person. i just wish someone would work on interior convenience for those of us who are forced to spend long hours on the road. this is the first actual brand-new car that i have ever owned in my 52 years as a driver. i was hoping to just love it completely. **sigh**.

New subaru forester

We couldn't be happier with the purchase of our new and first Subaru. We tried to purchase locally from Hunter Subaru but ended up going online to three other nearby dealers. Fairway Subaru gave us the best price and their service is exceptional. They actually delivered it to our home and everyone we dealt with was very cordial and knowledgeable. The other two online dealers were close in price but Hunter was about 3k more than the rest for the identical unit. So much for trying to buy local. But we are happy with the new car and are getting about 30 mpg.

Hassle free motoring

Great car with a very smooth and quiet ride. Do not like CVT gear boxes, but this on is not to bad. Like the solid build and no nonsense approach of this Subaru. Whould definately recommend the car.
