The best car I have ever owned

I love my Subaru. I am so happy I bought it. I do have a couple of suggestions about something that is a problem. Changing the clock is a real challenge. I get my son, a computer network engineer, to do it for me and he even says he wonders why they made it so difficult. My neighbor said she looks up a video on YouTube to change hers. I need to check that out cause my needs changing right now and will not see my son for another month. Another thing is the odometer could be better to view at a glance. I don't want to figure out where 55 is when I am driving. I still have not figured out how to get my cell phone to work through the car.

It’s a great little SUV!

The car meets all of my needs. It is my first SUV and I love that it is all wheel drive. I am happy with the purchase.

Almost 5 yrs still very happy with safety and fun

56k 5 yrs 1 trouble with a fuel sensor. can't find a perfect vehicle but this has served me very well. I feel confident with its safety including eyesight. I feel secure driving in heavy rains, no snow in my area. That fun factor of awd is great. I haven't used it a lot, but a little bit of off road and beach driving is good fun. I hear of some reliability concerns by others on line, but I have not had troubles, except 1 sensor. I read the cvt tranmission warrenty was extended to 100k miles, more peace of mind as I do not have an extended warrenty. I feel more connection to this car than any other car. It does me well!!

Great handling in bad weather.

So far I've owned this for 4.5 yrs 60k miles and performs well. Excellent braking and handling of any vehicle that I have driven. Great for the rain sleet snow and sun.

Awesome and Reliable Adventure Vehicle

The Subaru Forester is an excellent all-round vehicle that will fit your needs around town and is also ready to go on any adventure. We have owned two and traveled coast to coast, up mountain passes and through searing hot deserts, deep snow in the winter and this car shrugs it all off.

Could use better interior storage

I had to go back to an SUV after driving an Elantra sedan for the past 4 years. I have to say though the Forester is much roomier inside, it doesn't make great use of the storage space. Door storage, center console and leg area storage pockets are much smaller in the Forester. Otherwise, the ride is much nicer. I don't have the hip fatigue and soreness after a 3 hour car ride in the Forester that I did with the Elantra. It handles as well as the SUV Buick Rendevous I used to own and gets way better gas mileage too! It's not as zippy as the Elantra of course but I'm not sure it's as quick as other suvs I've driven. Overall I love it for the ride, room, mileage and reliability. Oh, and it has a massive sun roof!

3 years old and it looks brand new

This car had my must-haves. It was not silver or gray, has a moon roof and a good carfax history. I feel pampered in the leather HEATED seats. I can filly say I have a hot behind!

I love my Forester more than a Cadillac

I have a 2015 2.5i base. I fell in love with a Cadillac XT5 at a car show, and test drove one and a Lexus but could not bring myself to give up the Subie. While I would like more power, I like the MPG. Therefore when a more powerful engine is more important I will drive my Taurus SHO and get 20 MPG. I love the visibility in the Forester, one of the prime reasons my next vehicle will be another Forester. I very much like the visibility. For people who complain about the seats, I'm not sure what's wrong; I have a bad back and they're fine. If you test drive one and don't like the seats, don't buy it and then complain. Also for people who complain about the stiff ride, it's an SUV with AWD so not sure what they expect. Buy something with a suspension for a soft ride. I feel like the Forester is very sure footed, I'm comfortable on long trips and very happy with it. Mileage is great for AWD, I've gotten as much as 37MPG (albeit when stuck behind someone going a lot slower than I want). The sound system isn't the best, but it's upgradeable if that's important and you want to pay for it. Cons: uninspired styling (but then again exciting looks don't make it go faster), no guts (but I knew that going in), and underwhelming audio. Pros: good MPG, great safety features and outstanding visibility.

Best handling and economic car we have owned

This car has great gas mileage, and handles really well. We have taken it on camping trips up into the mountains, and had to problems with packing in all our camping gear. It has been a dream car for both in town, and on vacation trips.
