Subaru Quality has diminished....

This is my sixth Subaru since the early 90's. The Forester has been reliable, but I'm not certain of its long term durability. This is a 1.5 year old car with rattles, a jumpy transmission and a poorly designed and constructed interior. Center console is trashed. USB ports are designed so any accessory cord breaks the port. Accelerator is problematic and very touchy. Headlights are terrible at night and have already burnt out, which of course is not covered under warranty... Engine has rattling valves and burns oil like its going out of style. Dealers say this is normal. My sixth and last Subaru.

Best SUV EVER!

I've owned over 50 cars in my lifetime and this Forester is by far the BEST. Very comfortable on long trips, good gas mileage and lots of cargo area. The Subaru AWD is great in the winter when the snow hits.

Extremely reliable and efficient vehicle

This has been a very reliable and efficient vehicle. The combined city/highway mileage that I'm getting is consistently 31 mpg. It's a beautiful design with great visibility. I love that the new design includes glass side panels at the side view mirrors. I gave 4 stars for comfort because the seat cushions seem a little less comfortable (more rigid) than the 2009 Forester Premium model that we owned. The center console is a bit clumsy to access past the removable coin tray, so I usually have the tray removed and stashed away elsewhere. If you have dogs it's great to buy the cargo liner and the rear seat liner. We only had the cargo liner in our last Forester and the rear seat liner has kept our vehicle much cleaner than just the floor liner alone. As far as pick up goes, the vehicle is a little slow when taking off from a hill or onto the highway, but I attribute this to the fact that it gets such great gas mileage. I due believe that you have to sacrifice speed performance to get efficiency performance. It's a trade off that I see as well worthwhile.

Perfect for every place you need to drive

My dad owns this car. It gets decent mileage, and drives well. Nothing exiting but solid. For a commuter it is perfect.

You should know...

This is my third Forester. I've had an 05, and an 09. I traded up to a '16 for the look but there are a few things about this car that I'd like you to know if you are considering purchase. The tires on it are not great compared with other Foresters. You might as well plan to replace the tires as soon as the first winter weather arrives. Both Winters I have had this vehicle the snow and ice have built up in the rims as well causing the car to vibrate violently at highway speeds. I was told the only thing I could do is take it to the car wash to spray the ice out. That usually doesn't get it all and I end up picking out ice chunks in the freezing cold. The dealership I purchased this car at did nothing with my complaints and requests for different tires. So I thought you should know. Also, this car gets great gas mileage and the stereo upgrade they made is good too.

Great Car

This car is a great small SUV. Rides nice and I love the panoramic sunroof. The interior design could be a little better as I find it has less storage space (glove box, cup holders and pockets) than I was used to.

SUV that handles like a good sports car

Performance, safety and quality all add up to one super SUV. Driving the vehicle is relaxing, it anticipates your needs with the alerting and monitoring of the roads and traffic. Great driving experience , comfort and power. And super on gas efficiency.
