Overall favorite brand I have owned

This vehicle meets all of our needs. Great visibility, good comfort and ride. Simple interior with plenty of standard equipment that should satisfy most. Highly recommend the premium model.

very nice car

I had done a lot of research before I selected the Forester. The car has all the safety features that I think are necessary. Despite what I read from other reviewers I find the pick up to be very adequate as I have no plans to race the car at Daytona.

First New Car Purchase, SUCH A Good Choice!

First and foremost: I love this car!!! I drove my first car for over ten years and loved it, but it was twenty years old and time to part ways. I was set on buying a different car, but the Subaru Forester blew me away. Comfortable, quiet, reliable, safe, and fun! I love the panoramic moonroof. Both the front and rear seats are spacious and comfortable. It’s easy to get in and out of the car. The cargo/trunk space is good too. There’s even a hidden compartment by the spare tire where I store essentials like jumper cables and a small snow shovel that I don’t need all the time. I use the car primarily for commuting and personal use within a few miles of my home, but I take a fair amount of road trips and see this car serving me very well! I definitely got my money’s worth with this car and am so happy I switched to a Subaru!

State of the art technology

Way more important, state of the art feathers than I expected for the price. Most sophisticated car I've ever owned. The vehicle is perfect for our ever changing weather conditions.

Review of 1st month or ownership

I've only owned this car for a month, but I love it. This is my 4th Subaru, but my first Forester. I went with the Forester Limited because I wanted a quieter vehicle than my previous Crosstrek and Imprezas. The Forester is noticeably quieter. The Forester also has sufficient legroom for my 6'3" husband, who always felt a little cramped in my other cars. The gas mileage isn't as good as my previous cars yet, but I only have about 1300 miles on it so far, so I expect that to improve with use (mostly highway mileage for me). The car has features I'll probably never use, like the options for off-road driving, but it is a nicely equipped model.

The 2020 Subaru Forester Delivers

I purchased a 2020 Forester in October 29, 2020 which I bought online through a local dealership. Pitting four dealerships against each other worked nicely and I got a nice discount off the MSRP. Just thought I would share that. MPG: I drive about 400 miles per week. 300 miles of that number is highway driving. I keep the speed on the hwy at 65-70 mph. I am consistently getting 27-29 mpg. Fair warning: the logarithm that computes your mpg on the infotainment screen is consistently 1-2 mpg higher than my own calculations. I know not why this is but I trust my computations. The engine: Consumer reports tells us the 2.5 liter naturally aspirated four cylinder 182 hp engine is a bit on the sluggish side compared along side its competitors in the segment. They are saying that the Forester is about 0.5 to 1.0 seconds behind when going from 0 to 60 mph. What nonsense. It boogies down the highway whenever I want it to. It has plenty of giddy-up when needed to pass a tractor-trailer or whatever it is you want to leave in the dust. It does express a rather loud thrum when you press on the accelerator but quiets down when you go back to cruising. The interior: It is well padded and looks stylish. The seats a very comfortable as everyone who has ridden in it has said as much. Sight lines are excellent for the segment. The controls are easily accessible and practical. There are a couple of hiccups: one is the storage bin in the console between the two front seats. It is on the small side. Meh. But the other surprises me. The tray in front of the shifter where I place my phone is too small for my large mobile phone to lay flat. Finally: the user manual is about an inch and a half thick because this car has a myriad of safety features. One such feature saved me from what would have been an unavoidable rear-end collision. The car stopped before I could get to the brake myself. That alone was worth every penny I paid for this very fine vehicle.

Great car, but some concerns

Base 8 inch radio leaves much to be desired: doesn't handle USB3 flash drives very well, does not support wireless Android Auto, and could really use a 5 or 8 band equalizer. Stitching in drivers seat started coming out 2 weeks after purchase.

Happy with my new car

I am generally a truck person, but this car has lots of room It actually has more leg room than my full size truck. I really like everything about this vehicle.
