My 2008 subaru legacy has had a lot of problems none subaru could fix such as coolant loss thy just added sealant to the coolant 3 times. Now the air bag light is on and out of warranty by 3000 miles. TPS light comes on every week or so. The trans shifts hard at times the dealer reset the computer that worked for a few hundred miles. I will never by another subaru. This is my second junk subaru.

Cant beat the Legacy.

Dollar for dollar you just cant beat the Subaru Legacy. I've had the 2008 GT Limited Legacy for a little over a year now with no complaints. Easily the best car that I ever have owned. Period.

Fantastic Car! Great Value!

I got a great deal on my 2008 Legacy GT Limited and it is a spectactular buy for the money. I was also looking at a 2008 Infiniti G35X as well as a 2008 BMW 335xi and dollar for dollar the Legacy was the best choice. Believe it or not the Subaru had a nicer interior than the BMW- which seemed to have too many plastic-like parts and that confusing i-drive. The steering wheel on the Infiniti was clunky like something from the 90's with no folding rear seats for skis or a bike. Although the BMW had slighty more power, it was hard to notice the difference once the turbo on the Legecy kicks in and for over ten thousand dollars less than what they were asking for the BMW, I chose the dependablity of the Subaru (a top ranked car according to Consumer Reports along with Honda and Toyota). Im glad I made the right choice... Subaru has come a long way from the bare-bones cars they made a decade ago.

Spec.B ROCKS!!!!!

I purchased an 08 spec.B last fall and can assure you with just a few upgrades, this really is the perfect car. With the new intake, downpipe & catback as well as the Cobb access port (stage2) it has barley any turbo lag and takes off like a jet. I also upgraded the brake pads, installed stainless lines & put in DOT4 brake fluid & it stops on a dime as well as upgrading to the Cobb springs for a stiffer ride with less body roll. To date ive smoked every single car thats dared to challenge it including an 08 STi (from the stoplight) which got me a "thumbs up" from its driver, lol. With its mods it is also faster around the track than a stock STi (ive done 2 track days in it) and cant believe how well it performs. This car is just fine stock, but the upgrades help a lot and arnt too expensive.... theres nothing funnier than seeing the look on someone thats driving a V-8's face as they get smoked by a 4-cylinder. The AWD handles any weather although you will need winter tires because it comes with Y-rated summer performace tires. I also just found out the engine won the 2008 International Engine of the Year award for its class (2.0-2.5L). Heated seats, mirrors & wipers are a bounus for cold weather and the black Alcantera inserts in the leather seats are found usually in much more expensive cars. I also love that the folding split rear seats mean you can get skis/snowboards as well as a third person in the back seat without having to use a ski rack. This is without a doubt the best car Subaru has ever made (with exception of the Legacy S402 STi sold only in Japan). If you want the performance of the 08 STi but cant get over how they look, buy this car & throw on a couple of mods like I did- & your insurance will be cheaper than the STi too!!!! The Si-Drive is also great... I can drive it under the full power of Sport# & it will get a lousy 12 miles per gallon because of the mods (a trade-off for all the speed & power), but I can also switch over to Intelligent mode and get about 20- 25 mpg which is fantastic. I have had the car just about a year and had no problems whatsoever, my only single complaint.... why a 2-touch sunroof? But that is a fine trade-off for everything else the car has to offer. This is the same car that Subaru chose for the SRRT road racing team and its no suprise, it handles great! An exceptional car for the money and highly underrated.

Handling is not secure

I was looking for an AWD vehicle. The Legacy was the only choice with a reasonable price. I love how the car looks and drives at a slow speed. I am having trouble at highway speeds. The car does not inspire any confidence. Steering is so sensitive that you need to be very alert. A slight wind blow or truck turbulance really shake the car. If you can afford it buy a more expensive car if you need to have an AWD.

Good Gas Mileage and Great Performance

I have a 2008 Special Edition. This car is rated 6 by a group of people who keep recommending the Camery. Sorry, but having all wheel dirve puts this car in the #1 spot as far as I am concerned. I had a Camery before this car and could not keep it on the road in the rain or snow. This Suby just flies on by and doesn't miss a beat. Powerful, reliable and handles great...I feel safer now.

Subaru Legacy is Everything

Subaru Legacy is one of the best cars out there. It took me a while to decide what I actually wanted but lets just say I made the right choice. I have no problem with gas, I average between 28-29 mpg. Would recommend this car to anyone. I love it! Some people think this car is for older people, but I am a teenager and enjoy every minute of driving it.

Solid Performer

I purchased my 2008 LGT 5spd 9/07. To date it has been an excellent ride. Very fast and handles great. The AWD has been good thru the winter and handles snowy roads without problems. MPG is also decent, I have been averaging @18.5-20 city and upwards of 26 on the open road. No problems to date...

Awesome Subaru!

Just bought a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited Sedan and absolutely love it! The sporty styling, peppy acceleration, and awesome AWD handling make it fun to drive. Mine has a black leather interior with heated seats that heat up very quickly, an in-dash 6 CD changer with 6 100-watt speakers. The stereo's auxillary input feature makes it perfect for listening to an mp3 player like an iPod. So far I have no complaints, the car is perfect! I am looking forward to seeing how well the traction control and Vehicle Dynamics Control operate in the snow this winter.

Chose Special Edition over Accord, Camry & Sonata

Needed a second car to transport at least 2 children in rear car seats. Although competition offered more spacious rear seating, the Legacy was adequate. Camry was softer & more luxurious (would've been our next best choice but we could not get over the pelican tooth styled nose), the '07 Accord had poor visibility out the front by the a-pillar and uncomfortable driver's seat & the Sonata, though quite impressive for the price had front seats that didn't support the lower thighs, too, the dash & steering wheel were unimaginative and too bland and the exterior styling looks aged. The Legacy's styling was the most appealing, had comfortable and supportive seats, a simple & appealing dash, the only car in our comparison with all wheel drive and had the most impressive array of standard safety features - the very reason we upgraded from a 1988 Accord coupe. Have yet to drive the vehicle in inclement weather. Best handling and road feel of the cars we compared, albeit a bit smaller in length and width than the others as well. Interior cloth seems heavier than most, hope we can keep its very light color clean. High beam headlights a bit disappointing. Center armrest is too short front to back. Time for Subaru to match warranties with Hyundai and Chrysler. Looking forward to a nice long-term service experience from the Legacy. Take a close look at the Legacy and be different from the bland Accord/Camry/Sonata crowd. You won't regret it.
