Love My Subaru

Great car for the money. AWD is good on fair weather and snowy roads. Very good comfort with quality leather seats. Nice cabin space with good room in front seats and big back seat which comes in handy. Back seat folds down for cargo. Good trunk space. Controls are easy to use. Outside styling is really quite nice. Would definitely recommend this car to a friend. I've experienced very good reliability - I've had this car for 15 months and have 21K miles on it. Never had any reliability issues and have only been back to the dealership for regular scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotation.

Do not buy this trash can

Drove this for 6 months and had to get rid of it. Worst car I have ever owned. Every weak a new interior rattle appeared. The exhaust smell on cold starts was nauseating. The so called premium stereo is a complete heap of junk. Even the sunglass holder is too small for standard sized sunglasses. Again, do not let the 'value' price for AWD fool you into buying this car!

Disappointed

As a supplier to the Subaru plant in Lafayette, IN, I was excited to order a new Legacy. I had always heard good things about Subarus as long as you could deal with the quirky styling. I must say though that with 36,000 miles on the clock, I am rather disappointed with this car. I love the AWD, especially with the amount of snow we've seen this winter and the premium stereo sounds great. On the down side, the car has been back to the shop 5 times since new, the trunk is tiny and any kind of significant cross wind makes the car jump all over the road. I actually plan to attend the Chicago Auto Show next week to pick out a replacement. The maintenance issues make me leery of keeping this vehicle too much longer. I don't have time to waste sitting in the dealer's wating room.

Stylish, economical and reliable

My wife gave me certain criterias for her new car. It had to be, first economical, reliable & have all wheel drive. After searching prospective vehicles that I thought she would like. I narrowed it down to the Audi and the Subaru. Because they both have an excellent track record with their all wheel drives and it's not offered as an anomolous option. Well she didn't like the idea of paying for premium gas. So we purchased the 2010 Subaru Legacy and we would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for the same. PS, it's loaded with amenities like bluetooth, moonroof and heated leather seats.

great AWD vehicle

Love the AWD in the winter weather. The winter package is great. No more frozen wipers. Washer fluid doesn't work well or at all when below 25?. Car will feel like the engine dropped sometimes when pressing the accelerator when car is crawling along. DVD nav is a 2 DVD set that you must load, one for east coast and one for west. Only a single CD player win Nav. Car has very nice pick up and passing ability. Comfortable and nice placement for controls. The 3.6R model gets a little over 20 MPG combined but uses regular unleaded vs premium. Good trunk space and interior room. The size increase is noticeable and appreciated. I have the temperature set at 65? and when the defroster is on auto it will start to reduce speed as it gets near the set temperature, however it will only reduce from 6 to 3 bars and stay there so it can get quite toasty especially when the heated seats are on. Great car overall and would recommend to anyone. My beefs are snall in comparison to other vehicles I've had in the past. If there are typos I am sorry, doing this review from my touchscreen phone.

The only car that met my needs

I had few concrete requirements for a car: 1. 4 doors 2. Over 200 hp (really, just comfortable performance) 3. A manual transmission 4. Under $30k (or within negotiating range) If you take away any one of these requirements you have a lot of options. To keep all 4 options...you get the 2010 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT. And so I did. I drove everything that came close, and then I bought the Subaru. Performance really did it for me - the transmission shifts solidly (ok, my husband's 350z is certainly more solid, but this didn't feel plastic like every other clutch in its price range) and the pickup is there. I have really not run into more than a few times when I needed more power (and that's usually my fault). The AWD holds the road very nicely around fast corners and feels very stable even at high speed. The inside is HUGE, but I don't feel like I'm driving a boat. I forget how large the car is a lot of the time (this is both good and bad). At over 6', I can sit in the back without my knees touching the front seat. The sport cloth is very nice, although one of my few complaints is that for the price, I really feel like the seats should be leather. Very comfortable ride, anyway. The premium audio is terrific, I've always had a bose or HK audio, and this one stacks up well. The dials are kinda novel - in addition to the speed and tach, they have an mpg-o-meter, which I'm pretty sure is useless, and also it tells you what gear you're in (maybe this is more useful with an AT?). I do like that it gives me an MPG readout, both average (with the trip calculator) and instantaneous. The miles to empty is mostly useless. The exterior finish is beautiful, my red paint shade is easily my favorite of all the cars I looked at. Personally I find the front styling really pretty and the rear a little bland, but that's just me. All in all, I'm very happy with my Subaru, it's got 3300 miles on it, and still really enjoying driving it.

Subuaru Legacy

I bought a 4 cyclinder Legacy and love it. Very comfortable, AWD, looks good, burns regulary fuel, 32 mpg on the road and lots of room. The nav could be improved but works well and I like the stereo. I checked out every AWD cars available. The problem with the higher priced ones is they all burn premium fuel thus the price per mile goes up by about 10%. Also good safety ratings. Jim

Great car for the money

2010 Legacy 2.5i Limited is an excellent choice in a mid-sized sedan with all-wheel drive. We've taken two long trips averaging 31 & 32mpg. Very comfortable leather seats, good power, excellent handling (on new Conti Extreme Contact DWS). Excellent room in back seat.

solid ride

Nicely styled, solid on the road, quiet and comfortable. Have to wait for the snow but I'm sure with AWD I won't be spinning my tires like 2WD any longer. 1k mi. and I can't be happier with the purchase.
