I love it

I bought this car a 1 month ago I tested it in money driving cases and I wonder some negative comments about I read in this site they are very unsubjective and donot match the reality of the Legacy. I find it avery interistin relible strong car the 4awd driving is somthing to be noticed to reveal the power comparision between it and the v6 cars I love it.

smooth ride

I wish everyone ( all those expert reviewers) would stop saying bad things about the 3.6R legacy. I love the smooth power from the 6 cylinder. I wanted more power but did not want to spend thousands more per year with the premium fuel turbo engine and winter/all season tire changes. The seats are finally comfortable ( nice job subaru!). The harmon/kardon system is fantastic and though some controls are either small or awkwardly placed I am sure I will get used to them. The car handles quite well but it is not a sporty as the sedan or even outback wagons of the last few years. I am also disappointed that subaru does not make a roof rack for my sedan. I can still have a aftermarked rack installed and still be thousands less than any other awd sedan( and run on regular!!!) Overall great car. For those also considering the 6cyl I would definitely drive the 4cyl. It has very adequate power and feels and drives lighter than the 6cyl.

Love my Subie

i have had my subaru legacy for about a month and just love it. i was tired of my 2002 honda crv and wanted a smoother ride but still wanted AWD. The ride is very smooth, it handles great and I am so glad I took the plunge and bought it. Compared to the ford fusion, volvo S40, i thought the Subaru fits my needs to a T. I added the satelite radio, blue tooth, leather seats , all weather package and rear back up sensors, and so far I am very happy with those additions. There are a few things i miss though that my CRV had, such as the rear windshield wiper and retractable mirrors. not sure why they don't include those feature or offer those as even options, Also the cup holder is weird and the button to unlock trunk from the inside is in a really low position. but as i said i LOVE MY SUBIE !!

Simple/Solid/Sturdy/Safe

I love driving this car for its comfort and reliability and responsiveness. Second-time Subaru owner - might be more if they didn't last so long!

Love My Suby

I've Driven a lot of cars. I also run a shop and know a lot of the problems vehicles have. I wanted a Car with all wheel drive and refused to go to the high priced Audi because i work on them and would NEVER own one. I found my Subaru to be well priced and i love the new body style. This car is solid in the snow, thats why i bought it. I have no complaints and i have 6,000 miles already. i just dont want to get out of it.

Subaru Legacy

I put about a 1000 miles on it so far. I love it.I love the paddle shifter,it make driving really fun.The car is very responsive and handles well. The only bad thing I would have to say is I wish Subaru would have selected better tires than the Bridgestone Turansa EL 400.These tires are terriable in wet weather.Subaru went to great lengh to produce a safe and reliable car and they drop the ball when it came to choosing tires. The Bridgestone Potenza G019 would have been a better choice if you had to go Bridgestone.

My first subaru

This car handles great for the money it's very pleasant to drive. I love the paddle shifters feature but overall it can use some more horses. The side mirrors are also a concern they should fold in since sometimes is worrisome to park in tight spaces! But I love my subaru.

not a good by

I have this car for 4 months now gas miles was good but now after 3800 miles gas miles have doped by 6 miles to the gallon and starting to hear squeaks and knock from the front. the dealer looks and sprays stuff on the suspension and say they cant fined any thing. I think its a lemon I should have stuck with ford.

Wheel Shake (You get what you pay for)

First time buyer of a Subaru. Previously I have been an Audi A4 loyalst. With the idea of saving some money I test drove the Legacy. On the test ride it seemed like not a bad ride for the money. After 5 days of driving I can see why it costs less than the German Cars. Steering is a bit mushy, suspension is nice if you want a softer ride but don't tempt any turns at high speed. Aside from the overall lack of driving excitement the steering wheel shakes at 65 and above. So far Subaru has told me its a known issue but they dont have a fix and I should call back in a week or two. Morale of the story you get what you pay for. To be fair if if they can fix the wheel shake than this car will be good for commuting and shuffling the kids to school but dont expect the thrill of the drive from this car.

Impressive for the money

One of my good friends who owns a Subaru Impreza WRX STI said that I should at least stop by the Subaru dealership before I make my final decision on a Mazda. I am so glad I did!! The dealership that was closest to my house, only had 1 Legacy on the lot -thanks to Cash for Clunkers- but when I looked at it, I absolutely fell in love. I test drove it and knew I had to have it. I ended up purchasing a different one with the options that I wanted when it came in and I got a great deal. This car has excellent handling. I love driving in the rain now because I know that this is one of the safest cars that I could possibly be in. I purchased a 2.5i Premium, which has the Boxer 4 cylinder engine with the CVT transmission. The first thing that I noticed is that the gas mileage is excellent. I average about 29MPG between about equal highway and in-town driving. Some people complain about the interior as feeling cheap but I love the look of the brushed metal and I think that it will grow on everyone as well. I opted to get the Harman Kardon sound system and I love it! It is excellent all around and sounds 10 times better than the factory "Infiniti" system in my 08 Dodge Ram. This car is excellent for the money and the features are plentiful for a car this price. I only have two complaints about the car. 1) I think the cloth seats feel really cheap. They are made out of a kind of cloth that I have never really seen. You will know what I am talking about when you sit in one. I am not sure what the leather seats are like but I'm sure they are probably better that these. 2) I think the 16 inch wheels that they put on this car are much too small. By the size of this car, it should have like 18 or 19 inch factory wheels with some medium profile tires, comparable to something you would see on an Infiniti or BMW. That would make this car look much classier. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this car. It's a Subaru, so you know it will last forever. There is a guy living near me that has an 1990 Subaru Legacy with 310,000 miles on the dash!! He told me he has had no major problems and the only money he has put into it are the scheduled maintenance which includes oil changes, fluid changes, new tires, brake pads, etc. This car is really sweet and if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
