Best SUV made

These things are bulletproof meaning the engine / transmission will last forever. I hope 4Runners stay around forever.

It does what it's supposed to do.

While Toyota may not make the most exciting cars ever, they do what they are supposed to do - work. The quality of this vehicle surpasses every other midsized SUV in my opinion.

100k miles and not one single problem

I bought the 4runner new and put almost 100k on it now. I love the sport package combined with the V8. With this package your are getting the most responsive handling, breaking and acceleration and all 3 are really good. I wish I had the better stereo from the limited though. I've towed wakeboard boats, cars (across the entire country) and uhaul trailers with ease. Even with using this car or real work like that I haven't had any unscheduled maintenance needs what so ever. I live in San Francisco now and appreciate the tight turning radius for parking and getting around crowded streets. The anti-lock breaks engage a little quicker than expected at times but otherwise this thing is about perfect for my needs.

I love this truck!

I had a 2003 4runner & it was recently totaled. I was looking for the exact same truck & even got the same color. I wish Toyota still put a V8 in the newer 4runners. If so I would consider a newer one.

Most reliable car I owned.

This car meets all my needs. It is a multi use vehicle. It is great when we go on vacation multi state road trips, for towing our utility trailer and commuting to work. We will be keeping this one forever.

Best I could ask for

Love everything about the 4runner Limited V8 with one exception, fuel mileage. Does ok on Highway but not best for city. Tows awesome and super amazing offroad.

2005 4Runner Sport

I love my 2005 4Runner, sad to have to get rid of it 110K miles later. Great for everyday but the tow pkg made it good for hauling motorcycles on trailer any distance too. Only mechanical problems were self inflicted (pulled TPMS off when 4wheeling through blizzard and trying see if I could get stuck (nope, even buried to the rails))

Stay away from used 4.0L V6

There is a flaw in this engine and they all blow head gaskets between 100 - 140K miles. The repair is costly. I definitely wish I purchased the V8.

Great SUV

Great SUV so far so good. Was a little surprised the amount of frame rust...But every other area of this truck, besides the sound system, is off the chart..
